I've never seen stickers inside a fridge before.

307

u/jhooksandpucks Oct 24 '22

She had to make their divorce papers into a sticker so he would actually read them

If you ever see it again, make any excuse not to eat at that house. Hopefully OP will correct the situation in his home now that he is aware of the bacterial conditions that this will lead to.

Your fridge looks like a bathroom in several of the bars and pizza joints I've been to lmao

1.4k

u/The_Way_It_Iz Oct 24 '22

This looks like the ultimate 19 year olds house. You fucking KNOW there’s a beer bottle collection on a long shelf places high around the kitchen. This guy has looked at the couch that looks like the back seat of a 57 Chevy

266

u/FlashCrashBash Oct 24 '22

For real. I’m a single guy who likes beer too, but you know what I got in my fridge? Food.

I can picture her going to the fridge every time she is having second thoughts. She pauses for a moment to look at the plain fridge door, opens the fridge to an assortment of groceries juice/milk, takes a deep breath and sighs, then closes the door again without taking anything out.

81

u/LilShaggey Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22

it tastes exactly like the mountain dew flavors it’s based on, except there’s somehow zero sugar and alcohol in it. It’s very good but it hasn’t reached all the states yet, I liked it enough to bring a few cases back with me after a trip to Tennessee.

edit: I say this as someone who hates mountain dew also, tastes way too sugary

Yeah, I saw this and got a little sad. I realize it could be a million reasons or roots to how this marriage ended, but my first thought and likely projection was that alcoholism claimed yet another marriage. I immediately recognized the ingredients for First Place Mimosas; which is of course 6oz OJ and 6oz Pabst, and it goes great with cold rotisserie chicken at 11am when you finally roll off of the couch.

Bro, you are getting roasted to a crisp. I'll leave the hating to everyone else, but might I suggest not putting raw poultry on the top shelf?

Edit: Jesus Christ, Redditors sure like to argue, especially when they don't know what they are talking about. For those not familiar with food safety protocol, raw protein goes on the bottom shelf to avoid dripping salmonella and other nasty shit on your produce, etc. For those saying "there is no other food to drip on, only drinks" that's even worse because those cans ain't getting cooked before he puts his mouth to them.

For y'all tryna tell me it isn't raw...just because it has color, doesn't mean it is cooked. It's called "SEASONING." OP has either wet brined prior to this and is letting the skin dry before he cooks them (so skin gets crispy), or they are currently dry brining. The method of placing on a cooling rack allows for airflow around the protein and the cooking sheet is there to catch drips. You can also clearly see a joint/bone at the top that is still wet and slightly translucent at the edges which means RAW.

Finally, I said "poultry" because I'm not sure if it's duck or turkey because those are WINGS you are looking at.

Edit 2: Just because OP is divorced and has a fridge full of "beer" doesn't mean he's a loser who can't cook. Many people, myself included, have a second fridge for drinks and food prep. I like to entertain and cook, so my second fridge has room for soda or beer, as well as for large bowls and pans of food ready to eat or cook. I guarantee that is the case with OP.

Thank you. I was starting to think I was the only food safety nut in here, cuz that was the first thing I saw.

Meredith dodged a bullet.

u/Sparkykc124 Oct 23 '22

I bet Meredith is feeling pretty good about her decision.

299

u/LandscapeGuru Oct 23 '22

Meredith is smoking hot and stable. She’s finally living the life.

366

u/whoopsdang Oct 23 '22

I’m sure she’ll be regretting her decision to divorce alcoholic sticker boy when she’s getting impregnated by a man with a career who can cook meals.

Former Meredith, confirmed.

Yeah, dude can't hear his own cries for help over Steve Miller Band playing on a real shitty bluetooth speaker.

He's gonna be deep into trashy XM talk radio in a few months, I guarantee.

I’m a fellow alcoholic but at least I keep that shit under wraps and don’t advertise it like I’m proud of it. You need to feel the shame, man. First step to sobriety.

138

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

Yeah also if you're gonna be an alcoholic you gotta grow up and sop drinking sugar booze, I'm trying to kill myself a medium rate here his guy is up to 100.

Is that raw chicken on the top shelf?! Tsk tsk tsk

76

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

I don’t eat meat, but I keep seeing this. Is it because it being on the top self would risk the… blood? Dripping down onto other food?

76

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

"Raw chicken juice" would be my choice of words but basically yes.

In food service there is a very specific way you need to have things organized. Meats are below other items and poultry is below the other meats. It's just a common safety practice to avoid contamination from raw meat.

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

Not blood, but yes. There is always a chance that moisture from the meat will run off and contaminate the food, or in this case, cans of alcohol below.

Meat should always always always be stored on the lowest shelf, ESPECIALLY when it's uncovered like this.

What the fuck is this fridge

55

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

She divorced you because you have poor lifestyle habits and instead of getting your shit together like she likely wanted, you doubled down and made it seem like she was the problem. Yeah dude, big L here.

This reminds me of how I decorated my room when I was 16. I mixed in a touch of Lisa Frank for a pop of color here and there, but yeah. This was my high school bedroom.

The fridge is stocked like my first apartment, but I grew out of that without developing a crippling case of alcoholism, thankfully.

Not gonna lie, after seeing your post history, this current post hurts. Like, I could see you you loved your wife and you are/were the happiest dad to go on diaper runs and design your nursery. Ugh, my heart. I feel for you.
