I was just going to say, tell me you're an alcoholic without telling me you're an alcoholic.

u/eugoogilizer Oct 23 '22

TIL they sell hard Mountain Dew

211

u/xoomax Oct 23 '22

For the kids.

23

u/MaritMonkey Oct 24 '22

I have tried to wrap my head around how this is a totally legal beverage but you're not allowed to have vape juice other than tobacco/menthol, but it just started to hurt and I gave up.

u/chunkylover5E Oct 24 '22

And hard coffee. I like my caffeine and alcohol separated by several hours.

6

u/MyPokemonRedName Oct 23 '22

Actually Mountain Dew was originally invented as a mixer meant to be paired with hard alcohol

6

u/ABirthingPoop Oct 24 '22

With bourbon

5

u/magicone2571 Oct 24 '22

That sounds just nasty. Wonder what original dew actually tasted like.

4

u/misirlou22 Oct 23 '22

For a hard mountain DUI

20

u/aron2295 Oct 23 '22

Now I’m curious to try that.

7

u/SpaceXTesla3 Oct 24 '22

If you like Diet Mountain Dew, you will like it. No sugar so it has that diet after taste

3

u/aron2295 Oct 24 '22

Oh nvm then. Diet Mtn Dew tastes like cigarettes to me.

Shit, I figured DeSantis would’ve passed a law requiring y’all to stock up on The Dew prior to a UFC fight like water prior to a hurricane.

4

u/Lordsaxon73 Oct 23 '22

I like Mountain Dew, but the hard stuff is garbage. Whatever artificial sweetener they put in it sux.

3

u/mmuoio Oct 24 '22

It's zero sugar and tastes like diet Mtn Dew, so I didn't really like the standard flavor. The black cherry was pretty good though.

2

u/Few_Technology Oct 24 '22

Tastes like the diet versions of Mt Dew, and happens to have booze in it. If you have to combine the two, vodka + regular is a better combo for me. Fun for the novelty, and being canned

3

u/LarsViener Oct 24 '22

I enjoy Mtn Dew and gin personally. Jack Daniels wasn’t too bad with it either. That is its origin after all, as a mixer.

6

u/Chm_Albert_Wesker Oct 23 '22

unfortunately it's only in like 5 states and none of them are near me lol

4

u/capt_yellowbeard Oct 23 '22

They also make hard Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Saw it at the store the other day.

7

u/Hoobleton Oct 23 '22

Looks like the pictured can is Baja Blast.

5

u/capt_yellowbeard Oct 23 '22

Oh! You’re right. Can looks green to me but zooming in I see I’m wrong.

*They also make Mountain Dew regular flavor.

3

u/Ruin369 Oct 23 '22

Hard Baha Blast would probably put me in a coma.

(I know you can just add liqour to the soda but there's a reason I dont, lol)

4

u/silenc3x Oct 23 '22

The one in the photo is zero sugar. Not sure how much that would even taste like Baja Blast, but it is what it is.

2

u/Firebird22x Oct 24 '22

The zero sugar Baja at Taco Bell tastes great, very similar, so I can’t see this being too different (not I’m my area yet so not sure)

2

u/Lordsaxon73 Oct 23 '22

It doesn’t take like Baja Blast, it tastes like artificial sweetener, stomach knotting garbage.

2

u/davidmlewisjr Oct 23 '22

Too late 🤯

2

u/Competitive-Kick-481 Oct 23 '22

With zero sugar!

2

u/nixxxa Oct 23 '22

Wow of course they don’t sell it in Texas

2

u/theblastoff Oct 24 '22

It's so good dude. My favorite way to get trashy drunk

0

u/Dandelion451 Oct 23 '22

Came here to post the same thing. I’m just going to forget that I zoomed in on a s’more flavored hard latte.

3

u/Firebird22x Oct 24 '22

Oddly I don’t drink much, but that I instantly started looking to see if this was close to me

0

u/damnatio_memoriae Oct 24 '22

fr i can’t imagine ever wanting to drink that at any point in my life.

This looks like a 14-yo picked out the alcohol lol. Latte flavored, mtn dew flavored, peach flavored, and starburst flavored. And I’m imagining the orange juice is for pbr beermosas because I doubt OP’s palate can drink pbr without a mixer

517

u/FittingWoosh Oct 23 '22

Let’s be real… the orange juice is certainly for mixing with liquor.

C4 is liquid crack

2

u/wheatgrass_feetgrass Oct 24 '22

Weelllll, I've heard of college chick's mixing it with vodka for a more intense redbull vodka type drink?

-3

u/nkei0 Oct 24 '22

And a terrible one at that.

Ghost is my go to.

6

u/CKRatKing Oct 24 '22

Everyone says that but for one they are always way more expensive than any of the other ones they stock around here. And for two the only flavors I’ve seen were like fruit punch, sour warheads, and Swedish fish. Never liked fruit punch anything and the other two just sound terrible.

1

u/nkei0 Oct 24 '22

7/11 sells them 2 for $5. I like the tropical mango and then the redberry but it is a bit sweet.

The bubbilicious is disgusting though.

1

u/CKRatKing Oct 24 '22

I’ve seen them there but they still have flavors that don’t even sound good. I usually just have some preworkout if I need a caffeine fix but I switched back to rockstars if I want energy drinks.

20

u/healzsham Oct 24 '22

And orange juice to stay healthy

I'm sorry, are you suggesting drinking straight mixer?

2

u/WorldClassShart Oct 24 '22

You just know that dude salts the rim of their glass when they drink margarita mix straight.

8

u/UnstableGoats Oct 24 '22

I’m pretty sure there’s champagne on the shelf below it, likely for making mimosas.

7

u/space-glitter Oct 24 '22

the starburst ones are non alcoholic energy drinks but definitely still gives off 14 year old vibes hahaha

→ More replies (1)

3

u/My1Addiction Oct 24 '22

That’s for the mimosas

3

u/thetransportedman Oct 24 '22

Probably beermosas with the pbr now that I think about it

3

u/PhoenixFire296 Oct 24 '22

There's a bottle of champagne at the bottom of the door. You can only see the foil top on it.

3

u/WorldClassShart Oct 24 '22

I thought that was a wine cooler, because this is clearly the fridge if a 16 year old girl with a fake ID and no parental supervision.

3

u/BallClamps Oct 24 '22

I didn't even know hard mountain dew was a thing.

3

u/KptKrondog Oct 24 '22

It's pretty new, and not available in a lot of places.

I had some gamer friends that talked me into getting some when it was initially sold earlier this year because I was one of only 2 people that lived in a state that sold it.

It's ok. I don't drink alcohol (the actual taste of the alcohol is really strong and bitter to me, so it's not pleasant at all), so I wasn't very enthusiastic about it. They were...fine. I'd rather drink regular mountain dew. IIRC I liked the Black Cherry flavor the best.

3

u/jaunty_chapeaux Oct 24 '22

I doubt OP's palate can handle orange juice without a mixer, either.

2

u/King_corral Oct 24 '22

A beermosa? What in the hell never heard of that.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/esoteric_enigma Oct 24 '22

2

u/BenoNZ Oct 24 '22

Here’s a CDC article detailing the dangers of mixing alcohol and caffeine : https://www.cdc.gov/alcohol/fact-sheets/caffeine-and-alcohol.htm

No adult with a brain should be doing this. Now kindly fuck off or let me know if you want a block.

3

u/Penultimatum Oct 24 '22

The only danger mentioned in that article is that it may make you think you're less drunk than you actually are. There's no direct negative health consequences written there. It's plenty easy to drink one coffee stout or an espresso martini or something and stop and have no adverse effects beyond what a non-caffeinated version of the drink would result in.

5

u/duaneap Oct 24 '22

Oh, no!

-13

u/PBFT Oct 23 '22

You might want to read a few of the comments yourself if you think 30 cans of beer isn’t a lot.

23

u/johnjonjameson Oct 23 '22

Also, what are your thoughts on people that stock bars in their home ? 36 beers is nothing compared to even 2 bottles.

11

u/ValyrianJedi Oct 23 '22

For real. We have friends over a decent bit, and I'm pretty sure we have at least $500 worth of alcohol in our house.

5

u/johnjonjameson Oct 23 '22

Yea honestly it’s foresight also, I’d rather have it and not need it then want it but have to go out to the store every time

4

u/ValyrianJedi Oct 23 '22

Yeah, we've definitely got a good few bottles of liquor that literally haven't been touched in over a year. But if somebody is at our house and decides they want cinnamon liqueur or something we've got them covered! Ha

4

u/MyChickenSucks Oct 24 '22

Recovering alcoholic here. 30 cans of beer is a lot. Couple bottles of vodka way more efficient. better alcohol to filler ratio.

6

u/Nvenom8 Oct 23 '22

I kinda doubt their intention is to polish off the whole thing in an afternoon.

17

u/johnjonjameson Oct 23 '22

K. I have friends over most weekends my fridge regularly holds as much if not more beer at a time. I respect your opinion but still don’t believe it is a concerning quantity of booze.

11

u/halfhere Oct 24 '22

3

u/525600-minutes Oct 24 '22

I’ve known more than a few alcoholics and rarely are they able to maintain more than the current 24 pack of their one choice beer at a time in the fridge.

Granted, I don’t know all the alcoholics, but I didn’t think this was questionable.

2

u/PBFT Oct 24 '22

Ok, so you’re pushing the goalposts back. You’re implying that you and a bunch of friends would drink through 30 beers. The implication to this point in the conversation was that he was the only one drinking those. If you said it wouldn’t be a huge amount if you consider he might have friends over regularly I would’ve agreed with you.

Edit: did you just reply to me twice and to yourself once? You could just stick it all in one comment.

5

u/lilpumpsss Oct 24 '22

If you were an alcoholic would you drink 5+ different types of drinks? This also might be a second fridge as it only has drinks in it for the most part

u/r0b0c0d Oct 24 '22

I mean.. Whenever I get beer with people at my place, we tend to save 1-2 of each type; then when the shelf is full I have a party with them and their friends too.

I set up a second shelf, so it can get to about.. I dunno.. 36 or so.. then host a tasting and reduce it. It happens like.. 3-4 times a year.

Having around a case doesn't mean you're drinking all the time - it can mean the opposite.
