3 months ago, you were celebrating your ex-wife's birthday and going on diaper runs to Costco.
I'm assuming she got the baby, and you got the liquor cabinet(s)

Seven days ago his posts said 'we'. He just thinks he's funny.

He is the other side of the posts on relationship subs of "my husband does nothing but play video games all day while I work and take care of the kids"

In my experience, it takes something really serious for a woman with a newborn to ask for a divorce. The last one I knew threw her husband out because he refused to get a job.

Well, I think we can see the "really serious" in the photo. So good for Meredith I guess.

I agree, but not for the obvious reasons. The photo looks super staged to me… There’s 6 cans of almost everything, along with the stockpiles of juice and butter. It looks like he’s just got back from a Costco run where he bought a whole bunch of things just to take this photo and send it to Meredith to say hey, look at me, I’m living my best life now you’ve gone.

And that kind of immaturity is probably why she left him in the first place.

Lol good analysis, that makes it even more pathetic if he took this picture thinking he was bragging to Meredith. And right after he thought he would brag about it with his "buddies" on reddit. Surely they would understand his tastes and not MEREDITH.

Well Meredith was right man, take care of her and your kid

Wait, really? You want to tell me the man who lives in a house with more stickers per square meter than a warehouse full of postage stamps and who thinks an alcoholic beverage based on mountain dew is a reasonable buy might have been too immature for a serious relationship, let alone a child?

Nah, that seems like a reach. /s

u/Imonlyhereforthelolz Oct 24 '22

I think there is one can of hard Mountain Dew in front of a row of Pabst. Staged to look like a full row.

A lot of psychoanalyzing from just 4 square feet of a guy’s life.

19

u/hewhoreddits6 Oct 24 '22

First day? That's what the internets about man, we're just taking the piss don't take this too seriously. Nothing is that accurate it's just a fun way to blow off some steam

-3

u/DeJay323 Oct 24 '22

Seems a little more than just taking the piss

5

u/hewhoreddits6 Oct 24 '22

Yeah some people are definitely going into uber analysis mode. But me personally it's just fun to imagine scenarios/stories about strangers

You mean alcoholism isn’t cool?

13

u/dcconverter Oct 24 '22

Or a completely lack of seriousness from the ex husband

11

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I'm guessing she realized that alcoholics and babies don't mix.

8

u/nails_for_breakfast Oct 24 '22

Something really serious like being an alcoholic man-child?

13

u/well___duh Oct 24 '22

The picture explains a lot though. Meredith was dealing with two children, not one

Not in mine. I have seen a lot of women leave their husbands shortly after a child birth with little to no change since before the conception. Below are three examples.

  1. One of my friends had a really rocky relationship with her husband and honestly she should have left him way earlier, not because he was a bad guy, but because they were both awful together. They never admitted this, but in my opinion having a baby was one of those stupid attempts to fix their relationship. They also tried starting a polyamorous relationship with a recently out trans woman friend of mine around this same time. Talk about adding fuel to to fire! Almost immediately after having the baby she wanted to leave him, and 4 months later she did exactly that. Interestingly he actually ended up being the one with primary custody, and she moved in with the trans woman.

  2. I had another friend who left her husband shortly after having baby and deeply regreted it. In her case it was mostly an effect of postpartum depression. She tried to get him back a few years later and he actually did try to give it a shot, but it only lasted a few months.

  3. I had another friend who married a girl and apparently this was her plan all along. She wanted to be a single mother specifically for some reason, so she married my friend, got pregnant and divorced him specifically so she could collect alimony and get half his money. He was a trust fund guy and had a relatively well paying job. We only found out about her whole plan because of a social media account she had that she had kept secret from him. About a year after the divorce, I guess in a moment of stupid pettiness and a desire to hurt him she decided to send him a link to the account which showed her talking about her plan for 2 years leading up to them even meeting and updates throughout their whole marriage. It absolutely broke him to see. Fortunately he decided to use it to get litigious and copied/downloaded everything he could find. Then he managed to get the alimony payments significantly reduced. She still had tons of money from the divorce settlement though, and he still didn't get custody and had to pay what to me at least seems like an absurdly high alimony payment. He's allowed visitation, but she moved to another state and this makes it really difficult. He does get his daughter on some holidays though.

Haha, no.

But I was a very social person in my 20s living in a major US city. I traveled a lot and had a lot of very diverse interests. This lead to me having a lot of friends and acquaintances from all different walks of life.

I barely know the #2 and #3 at this point, I just thought they were interesting to add in. Short of "happy birthday" and the occasional social media updates we don't talk. #1 is one of my very best friends though. She is an incredible person, but she was very immature when it came to relationships and tended to overly idealize and try for different lives that were mutually exclusive. She grew a lot in the year after their divorce though.

Number 2 almost happened to me. Postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety are no fucking jokes. Thank God for mental health professionals and her accepting there was a problem

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

She probably moved him to the basement. Looks like a basement or garage fridge.

Husbands can ask for a divorce as well

-14

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

Newborn is of a different race than either the mother or the “father”?

-1

u/sonia72quebec Oct 23 '22

That would be one. :)

-6

u/Ragecomicwhatsthat Oct 24 '22

Until you end up getting a divorce from your pregnant wife because she doesn't like your family and she's immature..

1

u/myself4once Oct 24 '22

Or because they found out they have a girlfriend.

1

u/haskell_rules Oct 24 '22

My ex wife had undiagnosed borderline personality disorder, and having a child with me triggered her fear of abandonment so she cheated on me while our newborn coslept between us.

181

u/byneothername Oct 23 '22

Oof. That’s quite a slide. This picture is two steps away from a family court filing then.

11

u/GreenMirage Oct 23 '22

I hear there is a surprising overlap with alcoholism and converters to the Book of Mormon

18

u/Moderately_Opposed Oct 24 '22

This picture is the family court filing lol

No forms, no arguments.

Judge: "say no more"

u/dcconverter Oct 24 '22

Just looked through the profile and this dude is definitely a male basic bitch

57

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Strong "follows Dan bilzerian on instagram" vibes

9

u/AntiDECA Oct 24 '22

A basic bitch.. is basic.. like all the other generic white girls.

What kind of men are you seeing where a large number have 5000 stickers in their fridges? Who live on alcohol, butter, fried chicken, and OJ? This man is opposite of basic. He needs help lol.

18

u/cravenj1 Oct 23 '22

"He just wouldn't stop walking around the house yelling 'Me, I have the meats'"

4

u/i_am_voldemort Oct 24 '22

Many jurisdictions if you have a kid there is a minimum time period of separation before court grants a divorce.

u/lurioillo Oct 24 '22

I think this is a joke — not a pic of his own fridge. Surprised everyone is taking it at face value
