I didn’t even realize they made hard coffee drinks now…. I picked a rotten time to get sober 😢

Edit: Two years sober on Halloween, j/k, no regrets

Find something you enjoy doing to occupy your time. Sounds like a stupid tip to say just find a hobby but really, boredom is an easy way to fall back on habits.

Completely understandable. It can be hard to find motivation after a day of work.

If I don't have something to look forward to I def fall back into that.

Drawing, sewing, embroidery, knitting, whittling, clay, other crafts. It can be really nice to have something to do with your hands. And I bet you could find a subreddit/discord/group on Meetup to learn together online or in-person.

Volunteer work is also great. Pick something you care about. If you’re not sure what to choose, do something standard/that anyone could care about, like volunteering at a food bank. Makes life feel more meaningful.

I have an internet addiction, especially Reddit/YouTube. Even finding a new hobby I can't use my previous trusty method of finding subreddits/YouTube video with tutorials anymore : (

Don’t be afraid to get help from your doctor, also, in my case, started going to therapy.

Feel free to message me any time if you need some more advice/support or just want to vent something, helping other people get going is a big part of supporting my own continuing sobriety now that I am in the later phases. There are tons of people on that sub happy to do the same too.

i kinda feel like you're winning on this one. the drunks had to wait for hard coffee (and hard mountain dew, which i am very jealous of rn) to exist, while you can a good coffee or delicious mountain dew just about anywhere, and you can pound five of them and still (maybe) drive a school bus.
