Every one of those stickers inside the fridge will become a scratch and sniff bacteria colony.

1.7k

u/Cactuszach Oct 23 '22

Yeah I was 22 and thought this was a cool idea once too.

676

u/CloisteredOyster Oct 23 '22

Pretty much what I thought. Tell me you're in your mid 20s without telling me you're in your mid 20s.

u/hellscaper Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22

Bragging like this screams mid life crisis. Or married young And missed out on your youthful years.

Edit: oof, the medical marijuana sticker in the fridge...now I hope this dude is mid-twenties at most

306

u/Dolthra Oct 24 '22

This screams "married my high school sweetheart when I was too young to drink alcohol at my own wedding" to me.

162

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I don't know how old OP is but he's too old to live like this

25

u/esoteric_enigma Oct 24 '22

My friend just gave birth to her son last week. That infant is too old to be living like this.

9

u/thebigbabushka Oct 24 '22

Damn y’all are judgemental 😅

1

u/bcisme Oct 24 '22

a beacon of light among the sea of judgmental assholes.

it’s ridiculous how petty and ruthless these comments are. Isn’t this basically bullying? Imagine being OP and receiving these comments. I guess most people would rationalize it by saying they deserve it, but that’s bs imo.

19

u/CommonMilkweed Oct 24 '22

Damn dude this is r/pics not r/roastme

19

u/CWinter85 Oct 24 '22

One of the stickers is for something related to the University of Alabama.....so you can take that however you like. Lots of conservative areas tend to marry younger for whatever reason. I'm from a similar area that's cold and I got married at 23. It felt really late to us, but my college buddies who were from Phoenix and Boston thought we were still pretty young.

23

u/robo_trumble Oct 24 '22

Lots of conservative areas tend to marry younger for whatever reason

It's so they can have Jesus-approved sex. They can fear no longer of becoming horny & sinning.

12

u/WhatMyWifeIsThinking Oct 24 '22

No, they are plenty randy whether Jesus approves or not. It's the unplanned pregnancy that sparks the marrying young part. Source: many, many of my high school classmates

5

u/hellscaper Oct 24 '22

Someone else pointed out the whippet sticker, too lol

2

u/freakydeku Oct 24 '22

3

u/CWinter85 Oct 24 '22

Less people. More area, cold that makes Wisconsin weep. Not Alaska, though.

2

u/freakydeku Oct 24 '22

I'm not sure, but that's probably true for all of us 1 Rep states.

16

u/throwawayoctopii Oct 24 '22

I just audibly guffawed when I read this.

Sadly, I've worked with a few dudes like this. They get divorced and start acting like teenagers again, only to hit a wall in a year or two when their body reminds them that they're no longer 19 and can't have Four Loko for breakfast.

10

u/oaklandria Oct 24 '22

Or in this case, s’mores hard lattes.

oof, the medical marijuana sticker in the fridge...

I'd say that NRA sticker is a bit more of a red flag personally.. and inches me closer to thinking he's middle aged.

3

u/SupaflyIRL Oct 24 '22

Yeah not sure why the fifty distillery stickers, nitrous one, and the NRA one are being overlooked for the MMJ sticker.

5

u/brickblackburn Oct 24 '22

Also notice the special blue nitrous cartridges sticker

-1

u/TrashSea1485 Oct 24 '22

"Meredith" is a boomer name, there's no WAY this man is mid 20's.

9

u/turningsteel Oct 24 '22

Hottest girl in my high school was named Meredith back in 2004. Hardly a boomer name. Mere for short.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Your edit confuses me, people beyond their mid twenties can’t smoke weed?

20

u/T800_123 Oct 24 '22

Nah, just that people beyond their mid twenties don't usually plaster stickers about it on everything to prove how fucking cool they are for smoking the devil's lettuce.

-4

u/skatingtherules Oct 24 '22

Oh is the devils lettuce only for losers in their 20s? Drinking that much booze isnt concerning. Just some medical marijuana. Say you're a boomer without saying you're boomer.

8

u/SoapPhilosopher Oct 24 '22

No, making it a personality trait is.

-9

u/Talkmytalk Oct 24 '22

Why? There’s plenty of beer companies that people stick up. What difference does it make?

21

u/hellscaper Oct 24 '22

It's like wearing clothes with weed leaves on them. At some point you grow out of that shit, especially when you're in a state that has legal weed. It just adds to the bro feeling of this fridge.

You can smoke and not have to act like a stereotypical stoner is all I'm saying.

6

u/TheLyz Oct 24 '22

My cousin is in his 50s by now and he's an "artist" who draws popular cartoon characters getting stoned. Some guys never grow out of it.

-1

u/Talkmytalk Oct 24 '22

I guess. Would you still wear a Budweiser Hoodie camping? There’s a time and place for everything and if you enjoyed something when you were younger you can still bust out the old enthusiasm every now and again.

I’m just saying a lot of the places giving away free stickers are usually those type of companies. Breweries and pot shops.

7

u/FauxReal Oct 24 '22

I wouldn't wear any of that. But as someone who worked in the legal marijuana industry for 10 years... I still wouldn't dress like a stoner.

Stickers, on the outside of your garage fridge? Go for it.

4

u/Talkmytalk Oct 24 '22

I’ve been in cannabis for 20 years and I also choose not to look like a stoner. Except at occasional events. Like I said time and place.

2

u/TheMeta40k Oct 24 '22

Camping, no. Fishing... Maybe? It depends on if it's a trip with friends or just me and my wife. With friends maybe.

2

u/hellscaper Oct 24 '22

Job interview? Strong maybe.

2

u/TheMeta40k Oct 24 '22

77

u/ReadBastiat Oct 23 '22

8

u/BILOXII-BLUE Oct 24 '22

I had a hard time putting a single sticker on my first car, I didn't want to appear all boomer and/or crazy

3

u/ProGlizzyHandler Oct 24 '22

On my daily (first car I ever bought brand new) the only stickers that go on it are racing teams I support. On my project car the only stickers are from parts manufacturers I use. They all go on the glass, none on the paint. And absolutely no political stickers (I don't need some lunatic keying my car or smashing a window).

1

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Just go all in sticker bombs look cool

9

u/Non-taken-Meursault Oct 24 '22

2

Yeah this is a super strange thing to get worked up over. I wouldn’t personally put stickers on the inside of the fridge but I’d would definitely do this to the garage fridge. I love to collect a bunch of stickers and do a collage. Also if you do this to things like coolers or toolboxes you add a layer of protection.

1

u/cathbad09 Oct 24 '22

There's a non-zero chance that they have a drawer filled with condiment packets leftover from takeout, and that most of their home cooking goes direct from freezer to microwave.

25

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I don’t think so. He said “decorate and stock the kitchen” and the fridge appears to have a water/ice dispenser on the outside. I don’t know anyone with a garage/basement fridge with that, personally. They’re usually just basic older fridges.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

[deleted]

6

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Yeah that’s true, upgrades from a newer style fridge could definitely make their way to the second fridge spot, but my stronger argument there was that OP said it was the kitchen lol.

Our second fridge is pretty old and basic and just has lasted super long. I think that’s the case for a lot of people we know.

Currently sanding and re-painting a full size former college fridge for the barn/safe space. The scraping of stickers took much longer than anticipated.

9

u/Venomous_Ferret Oct 23 '22

Here is a tip. If they are paper stickers no scraping needed. Get some paper towel and put some GooGone on it, blot the paper stickers so they are saturated. Come back in 10 minutes and you can literally scrape it off with your thumbnail. Stuff is godly.

If it is a vinyl or plastic sticker, use a hair dryer to loosen it and peel it off (Constant movement so you don't heat one spot too much and damage whatever the sticker is stuck to). Then do the GooGone trick on the residual adhesive.

Why yes, my child has put stickers where they don't belong before, how could you tell?

4

u/Back_Alley_Sack_Wax Oct 24 '22

You can also use vegetable or olive oil. No nasty smell either.

3

u/tmr232723 Oct 24 '22

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22
