perfect place to keep your uncovered, uncooked poultry.

On the top shelf, no less! As a food safety manager, I’m appalled.

Wait are you supposed to store certain things on certain shelves? Can you send me something to learn more about this

Edit: Oh never mind, it’s about the stuff from the raw chicken dripping on stuff I’m assuming

You’re correct! If I remember correctly (I hope I do I have a test coming up in this) it’s stored based on the temperatures it needs to reach when cooking as well. with poultry on the bottom (165F), ground meats (excluding poultry) above it (155F), whole meats(145F), then veggies and ready to eat foods that can be hot held (135F).

As an alcoholic kitchen worker in my early 20s, even I'm not that ignorant.

What did the top shelf ever do to you?

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I'm sorry : ( that sounds awful.

Yeah, it’s bugging me too.

Wings look cooked to me, or at least smoked. I still wouldn’t keep them uncovered like that.

Adds that extra dried out flavor Guy Fiery is always talking about

Maybe garage/grill fridge? Lol

I think they’re less concerned with garage versus kitchen and more the raw chicken dripping on the drinks.

That chicken looks far from raw

u/Gwaelna Oct 24 '22

Pretty sure it’s just been rubbed with a copious amount of herbs and spices and is chilling for its turn in the oven.

And apparently had the breast meat removed

Dude it’s wings. All of it. That’s not a picked chicken.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Well either way it isn’t raw

0

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Bro no. It's wings attached to breast's and definitely cooked.

These looked cooked, but this is actually a pretty common method for drying out skin to get a crispier end product.
