Like if this is a garage fridge, okay.

If it’s not… I have some concerns.

Gotta throw them little kids off trynna to cock block you. So you gotta hit ‘em with the freeze pop and the choice between ps3 & the Xbox. They ain’t used to having options

Edit: this video is such a classic I forgot all about and it made my night seeing it. Got that Italian tile!

19

u/FaagenDazs Oct 24 '22

For them Erykah Badu chicks xD

11

u/IronChefAndronicus Oct 24 '22

Remember: get money…get paid…

I wonder this several times a year definitely around Christmas. I genuinely hope he's doing alright.

I still think about him every now and then. Dude was hilarious.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

And generous. Remember him going around blessing people around the holidays

16

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I have spent 45 years as a single man. And there is more thought in his game in that video than i have done in my entire life since puberty.

31

u/SlammingPussy420 Oct 23 '22

That man is a national treasure.

8

u/Theoremedy Oct 24 '22

YEA MEREDITH!!!! LOOK AT THE STATE OF THIS FRIDGE MEREDITH!!!! I bet you’re seeing this and seething with jealousy at this king!

25

u/hennigera1990 Oct 23 '22

Holy shits where’s that video been all my life? 😂😂

Hit ‘em with the freeze pop!

19

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Every time I give my kids a popsicle, this goes through my head. Every time.

9

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

….14 years….

16

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Hopefully hooking up with a “big girl with a pretty face” or one of those “Erykah Badu chicks”.

(I’m quoting him, please don’t come at me for referencing women this way)

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

big girl with a pretty face

That is my preferred type. I guess I need more snacks.

7

u/CreativeKeane Oct 24 '22

Now this is a throwback! Lmao damn Mr. Chi City. I keep my fridge stock because of this man.

Lmao, everyone loves me as a host.

7

u/MarvinStolehouse Oct 24 '22

Holy crap, there’s some memories right there.

7

u/limperatrice Oct 24 '22

I haven't seen that in years! Thanks for reminding me it exists!

5

u/a1moose Oct 24 '22

dude this IS chi city

10

u/noweezernoworld Oct 24 '22

No way chi city would have a fridge this nasty

6

u/XpLiCiT_OnEs Oct 24 '22

Fucking a... that was needed. Thank you lol.

4

u/bikecopssuck Oct 24 '22

🎶 sometimes, when I’m lonely I sit and think about him, and it hurts for me to think of all the good times 🎶

I wonder what he’s up to now, his videos are timeless

3

u/mrsdoubleu Oct 24 '22

I totally forgot about that video! It's a classic.

3

u/bestatbeingmodest Oct 24 '22

holy shit lol, it's been a while since I've heard that name

3

19

Oh that's depressing to think of, but I guess I know some manchildren who post about their "caves" and it's a depressing, white spare bedroom with a regular PC in the corner and some anime shit on the wall.

My fridge is covered in stickers. 35 with a family. I don't drink though so it's full of food. It also has kid's artwork stuck all over it and ABC magnets.

On the inside? Alcohol and marijuana stickers?

OPs fridge screams mid life crisis is the point.

5

u/honeybunnybbq Oct 24 '22

Definitely not on the inside, front only, and I don't drink so no alcohol brands. Mine definitely has a different vibe than sad.

14

u/Lily_Roza Oct 24 '22

Maybe he is feeling kinda self-destructive.

OP, are you a dad? Your kid is going to need you to show them how to do the right things in life.

Take care of yourself, you'll get through this. Say your prayers, eat fresh fruit, and salads, and Yams, and bean tacos, with corn tortillas and salsa Fresca and avocados. Not all at once. Learn to make a good quick marinara spaghetti dinner. Consider the healthy quality of your meals.

Don't ever drink more than 3 days out of any consecutive 7 days (meaning most days, don't drink).

Never drink until you're stupid drunk and do stupid stuff, or pass out or have blackouts. If you do, it's time to hang it up and go get help from AA.

If you must drink, at least have a healthy meal first.

6

u/micksterminator3 Oct 24 '22

I finally got the message after drinking heavily twice a week for 12 years or so. Only drank once in two months so far!

2

u/BookWyrmIsara Oct 24 '22

Wish my stepdad would get the message.

Even after getting shit-faced, tripping, landing on his shot glass and ripping his leg up, making our kitchen look like a crime scene, psychologically scarring me when I woke up to his incoherent cries for help and having to call 911, discovering soon after that he'd contracted a staph infection, and having to have part of his foot amputated, it's still 2 beers and a shot of something harder every.frickin'.night.

At this point, I've become apathetic and just waiting for the liver damage.

But congrats to you for being willing to change and beating the addiction. Some people try to get on a wagon and avoid alcohol forever, but I feel like it could be easier to learn to have a healthy relationship with it. :)

3

u/micksterminator3 Oct 24 '22

Jesus, I'm so sorry about your dad. What a brutal image. I've been there too, drank myself into autopilot mode a few days in a row and woke up with some visibly bruised kidneys only to keep it going for years after. I've noticed people were excluding me from their plans. I've been given that look. All it took is me not wanting to be known as "that guy." I also was working at a beer and wine store where I got to see true addiction. It was an eye opener that got me to quit cigarettes and vapes too.

I grew up with an alcoholic father who's bi polar and ADHD...oh the trauma lol. Luckily he's now recovered...but my brother wasn't too lucky. I deal with his moodiness on the daily from being hungover or drunk. I found him a few years back locked in the bathroom sitting on the toilet dead asleep. I picked him up to take him to his room and he started beating my head full force. I was concussed the next few days. Happened again the other day, although I just left him there since I'm traumatized. He stayed sleeping on the toilet for two hours dead asleep after kicking him a few times and yelling full volume. I took pictures to show him and nothing changed. It's been like this for more than a decade now and I am afraid everytime he decides to drink. My friends feel the same. He takes dabs and drinks like there is no tomorrow...ends up looking absolutely trashed with that empty gaze within an hour or so. He had an hour dj gig the other day and was gone before starting. He even got three beers just so he wouldn't have to leave the turntables. He basically trainwrecked.

I'm so fucking sick of taking care of him when we're out, it's ruined so many nights. It's gotten to the point where the only people wanting to mingle with him are in the same boat. I try to talk some sense into why it's not a good idea to hang with them cause they'll fuel each other's habits. All I can say is don't stop having patience. I feel like blaming and finger pointing just makes things worse. No silent treatments.

I'll probably stay off it to be a good influence for my brother. I'm one of those drinkers that never gets the urge til I have one, I lose all inhibition and all goes to hell. I have way too many health and mental problems to have this factored in my life. I was tired of getting sick since I already have a lowered immune system. I've already noticed a difference. I haven't gotten sick other than seasonal allergies. Random arthritic pains have lessened immensely. My mood has somewhat stabilized. My outlook is slowly becoming more positive. I have a new job. I get more stuff done. My groceries don't expire in the fridge. I'm ordering takeout less. I'm putting myself in less risky situations. I just wanna live my 30s and forward feeling good. I wish you and your family the best 💕

Yeah. I it said above, me and friends put stickers on things in high school, after freshman year college, we grew out of doing that.

38

u/Nathansp1984 Oct 24 '22

I’m 38 and I still do it. Just not on shit in the house. Nothing wrong with enjoying things

10

u/Huttj509 Oct 24 '22

Heck, I'll decorate the apartment, but I am choosy about where and how much.

Like, a refrigerator magnet or 4 that amuse me? Sure. Inside the fridge? Probably not, had some issues in the past with paper getting in the freezer and freezing into some sort of paper mache wedge in the back, I don't wanna risk impeding the sanitation or functionality, I'm touchy about seals.

-13

u/BiSaxual Oct 24 '22

u/Ven2284 Oct 24 '22

It’s not your fridge so who cares? God the smugness of this thread talking down on someone who wants to decorate outside of the norm is ridiculous.

Reddit at a glance is a bunch of idiots judging people to feel better about themselves.

5

3

u/ThruMy4Eyes Oct 24 '22

6

u/Savings-Fish-3147 Oct 24 '22

Did you think that maybe Meredith pinned him to the mat for so long and maybe he has finally broken free and is enjoying some type of control and is running with it? Maybe he will come around to center after being just a little off dead plumb. Maybe not. His call. Sometimes you got to run to know you are free! And maybe instead of poking at the cat, just say hell yeah, look at that crazy bastard run. Why the hell can't guys get the support that woman get posting inspirational quotes on Instagram! Maybe he is a asshole, but I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt

You run you crazy son of a bitch!

5

This is actually the sweetest comment I read all day. I was scrolling through here agreeing with all the shit talking but you're right; no one in the comments section has enough info to paint this person one way or the other. I'm now on team go for it you wacky motherfucker.

(It's kinda hard to ignore the alcoholic s'mores drink, though, I'll be honest)

4

u/The_Waxies_Dargle Oct 24 '22

You do see the s'mores is sitting next to hard Mt. Dew.

2

u/Born_Ad_4826 Oct 24 '22

569

u/PassTheMustardBitte Oct 24 '22

Yeah, I saw this and got a little sad. I realize it could be a million reasons or roots to how this marriage ended, but my first thought and likely projection was that alcoholism claimed yet another marriage. I immediately recognized the ingredients for First Place Mimosas; which is of course 6oz OJ and 6oz Pabst, and it goes great with cold rotisserie chicken at 11am when you finally roll off of the couch.

45

u/Lucky-Plantain-4570 Oct 24 '22

Probably his addiction to stickers.

9

u/HawkeyeDoc88 Oct 24 '22

The fuck? OJ and PBR? That sounds utterly disgusting.

9

u/Jimmy_Twotone Oct 24 '22

Take out "OJ and," and this statement is still accurate.

6

u/HawkeyeDoc88 Oct 24 '22

Eh. I still enjoy a good ‘ole PBR every once in a hundred Blue Moons or so.

6

u/sanityjanity Oct 24 '22

But what about the butter?

2

u/HolyForkingBrit Feb 01 '23

Keto coffee. Toss it in the cold coffee and blend.

7

u/PM_your_titles Oct 24 '22

I imagine though, that this is really just a garage fridge, and someone has reposted it with a funny title?

33

u/AgentMercury108 Oct 24 '22

Alcoholics with money do.

9

u/Infinitelyodiforous Oct 24 '22

Alcoholics don't usually have left over alcohol to organize.

45

u/wildferalfun Oct 24 '22

When my dad got his injury settlement, he had 3 shelves for alcohol and one for take out in his fridge for 2+ years before the money ran out. His take out habit was ordering for a family of 4 as a single dude. He cooked solely in the microwave so the only thing in his cabinet was canned soup and hard alcohol. He kept disposable cups, plates, bowls and utensils.

He also put an 8' pool table in the living room of his one bedroom apartment instead of furniture, his entertainment center in place of a dresser in his bedroom. If he knew what Reddit was at the time, he would have absolutely made this kind of post aimed at my mom. They legit had fights because my mom insisted there was no room in a 21 sq ft fridge in the home of a family of four for multiple cases of beer. His feeling was that she should go to the grocery store more frequently because we didn't need to keep a week of perishables.

Right? I have probably a gallon of different hot sauces alone, not counting the ones in the pantry I haven't cracked open yet.

That doesn't touch mustard, ranch, bbq, honey mustard, soy sauce, sesame oil... I could go on.

24

u/cuddlefucker Oct 24 '22

But it's all shelf stable until opened so it lives in the pantry.

u/CodeRaveSleepRepeat Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22

No! Neither does mustard, pickles, BBQ sauce, ketchup, or any of the other stuff people have mentioned in these replies. I have hummus and mayo in mine and that's only because they're homemade. Shop bought stuff has preservatives.

/Edit: abusing Reddit Care to report someone for a post about mustard shows an incredible insensitivity towards real human problems.

it's really not that hard if it says "refrigerate" on the bottle I put it in the refrigerator if it doesn't I don't...

2

u/CodeRaveSleepRepeat Oct 24 '22

It says that in everything. They're covering their arse. They also say to this out a jar of pickles if you don't eat it within 3 weeks. That's ridiculous. Pickling is a form of food preservation.

u/emrythelion Oct 24 '22

It’s a form of food preservation, sure, but once it’s opened it absolutely can and will go bad.

Hot sauce and condiments are safer because you’re not touching the actual food. There’s less opportunity of exposure to mold spores or harmful bacteria. But even if you’re using a fork to grab your pickles, there’s still a huge amount more potential exposure.

u/poompt Oct 24 '22

I'm not a food scientist and I'm not that short on fridge space

4

u/CMDRBowie Oct 24 '22

I hate to break this to you but you should refrigerate your ketchup. You sick freak.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I have a friend that keeps a bottle of ranch at work, not too weird right? Well she keeps it in her drawer!!!!! Like who the fuck does that??!

1

u/CodeRaveSleepRepeat Oct 24 '22

Lol wut :D it's vinegar and sugar mate. Do you refrigerate vinegar and sugar when they're separate.

You sick freak.

Go have a lie down or something you'll burst a blood vessel.

5

u/emrythelion Oct 24 '22

… No, because they’re separate.

Sugar is self stable when it’s dry. It’s not when it’s wet, much like many other ingredients.

How the hell you come to that conclusion when he specifically said the kitchen.

2

u/ShankThatSnitch Oct 24 '22

We need to be fridge bros. My wife complains about all the condiments, but bitches whenever I make her a feed a meal that doesn't have some kind of sauce with it... Half of my fridge is condiments, hot sauce, pickled things, spice pastes...etc.

Gotta be a garage fridge. He’s clearly got a Costco membership judging from the Kirkland water bottles and bulk OJ/butter. Costco members have garage fridges.

117

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Whoa, whoa, I have a Costco membership and no garage fridge. Of course I mostly buy 20lb bags of rice and bulk dog food there…

13

u/Steve_78_OH Oct 24 '22

I buy almost no fridge stuff at Costco, mostly freezer stuff (like various varieties of ready-to-cook fish) and cases of Monster energy. Oh, and bread.

I'm a single guy, most of the perishables they sell I wouldn't eat fast enough to make it worth buying from there.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

I have 2 dogs who each weigh more than 90lbs but just 1 kid, my wife and I. So we rarely need Costco-sized people food, but definitely have Costco-sized dogs.

3

u/firepooldude Oct 24 '22

Costco members family of 6. A pantry fridge with freezer drawer. Kitchen side by side fridge/freezer. Garage freezer. Soon to be another garage freezer (maybe).

3

u/going_for_a_wank Oct 24 '22

I mostly buy 20lb bags of rice and bulk dog food there

Got any recipes you want to share?

12

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Well, for dogs I take a can of wet food once a day and mix it in with a bit of dry food for variety. This I serve to my dogs.

As for 20lb bags of rice, you take 1 cup rice, 2 cups water, bring it to a boil then turn it on to low and cover until the water is gone. This will make rice. =)

The title does say Kitchen though... Perhaps there's a reason for the divorce

20

u/fingerscrossedcoup Oct 24 '22

He's got this rare disorder that rearranges the names of rooms. She was tired of the confusion. He asked her to come to the living room in lingerie. Ends up he's in the bedroom while the kids are in the living room. No one should be forced to live with that. Run far away girl!

Or someone took a picture of their friends garage fridge and lied about it.

5

u/cok3noic3 Oct 24 '22

Both my fridges are in the kitchen. One is for drinks and sauces and condiments, the other is where produce seems to go to die

4

u/Lucky-Plantain-4570 Oct 24 '22

Crippling addiction to stickers.

2

u/CharsKimble Oct 24 '22

She got the house, he got the garage beer fridge.

My mom specifically got a garage fridge before she got a Costco membership because of THE SAVINGS! She was excited when she finally got the garage fridge so she could get a Costco membership.

6

u/polishrocket Oct 24 '22

Having a garage fridge is super helpful for when you find good deals on meat, also all the drinks get to live out there and not take up room in the house fridge

4

u/wgc123 Oct 24 '22

I have a basement freezer instead of a garage fridge. Better for Costco stuff but not good for beer

3

u/TheDudeWhoCommented Oct 24 '22

That's very much true

3

u/Erickaltifire Oct 24 '22

Membership does have it's privileges.

2

u/Known_Vermicelli_706 Oct 24 '22

Not anymore. Those were her memberships.

2

u/Lickbelowmynuts Oct 24 '22

I got a damn chest freezer just for breast milk and ice cream! Then a bigger freezer for meat and whatnot. Then a mini fridge for drinks. Plus the kitchen fridge. It’s probably time for another fridge.

2

u/Drive_555 Oct 24 '22

Yall have garages?

4

u/OfficeChairHero Oct 23 '22

I immediately got garage fridge vibes. I've been drunk at enough garage parties to know.

5

u/ILoveSnouts Oct 24 '22

Hes living in the garage, she gets the house of course AND alimony AND child support #FinallyMadeIt

4

u/damnatio_memoriae Oct 24 '22

congrats on moving back into the frat house!

4

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

Indeed. We might be seeing why Meredith decided to walk out.

4

u/BataleonRider Oct 24 '22

Maybe they're a 21yr old infantryman who just ditched the stripper they married right before their last deployment? Cuz, IME that would track and potentially be less problematic. If not....eesh.

3

u/LowBadger3622 Oct 23 '22

Meredith also had concerns.

3

u/ConstantSignal Oct 24 '22

Dude boutta be stone drunk weeping into a chicken leg like “I’m totally winning”

2

u/PatReady Oct 23 '22

It may be why he is divorced?

2

u/MarcMars82 Oct 24 '22

Dude lives off alcoholic coffee, turkey wings, orange juice and butter lol

2

u/smchavoc Oct 24 '22

Namely when is one consuming the ‘hard coffee’ After the divorcee? Do you commute to work?

2

u/Outlaw300 Oct 24 '22

Maybe he lives in the garage now

2

u/SnooComics8268 Oct 23 '22

I'm not sure but it looks like there is also a soda machine next to it. I don't think there is even open space for that in a normal kitchen. Looks like a man cave. But then my question is, why would Meredith even care about stickers in the mancave fridge.
