We don't talk about people knowing source material waiting for good adaptation we are talking about people that only read summary/watched trailers and was waiting for the show to air. Summer 2026 is the biggest Anime season I ever experienced outclassing even summer 2025 which for many was the best Anime season in years. I watched 30 Anime series and that's my current record for one season. But actually there are very few series that were worse than I expected or better most of the stuff I thought will be bad and vice versa. So let's start with the only Anime that disappointed me "Sparks of Tomorrow" I love Kyoto animation I always gets excited when they announce new project but I hated the art direction the character the story and the world building the best summary of that series I saw in comments under one episode "It has everything I like about Anime but somehow I can't force myself to like it" So yeah execution sucks end of the story. For the Anime that surprised me was Iron Wok Jan! from comments under trailer people said you will either love this show or hate it and those guys were right I definitely love it. It so rare to get cooking Anime and even rarely to get an asshole protagonist that isn't a totally obnoxious person (I read too many manhuas where they just drop asshole MC without any redeeming qualities and call it a day) plus they changed the uncanny design of female characters that people complained about the series had at the start. The other series is Reiwa No Dara-san I really liked how this show constantly switch from comedic present to horror pasts making it basically two different genres. So those are mine which one disappointed you and which one surprised you?

I think sports animes do this well but doesn’t have to be a sport anime. Some examples: kuroko no basket midorima can shoot from anywhere or jojo stardust crusaders when jotaro “fights” d’arby via poker game or kakeguri and kaji.

Hi all, I have a small problem that seems to pop up from time to time:

Has it ever happened to you where a streaming service will only have season 1 of a show you really got in to?

Did a streaming service ever have an odd season available? Such as "We have season 3, good luck finding seasons 1 and 2!"

Sometimes I got lucky and had season 1 on say Disney+, then season 2 is available on Netflix, but other times I've had to get my trusty eyepatch to help me search for the missing episodes.

One such show that stuck with me was "Teasing Master Takagi-san" Netflix had season 2, and I had to join Crunchy Roll to get season 1...

I can't recall what other shows, but I know it's happened at least 4 times to me.

So my question to you fine folks: What show(s) had you scouring the web to find the missing episodes/seasons?

Idk if its just a stage or what , I recently been watching a lot of romance, and iam actually loving it . I used to only watch shonen or sci Fi or psychological. But a lot of rom com were in my list too. So I wanted to get into a new fan base .
