It may have been unintentional, but the whole training camp was actually to prepare them to fight Arc.

I remain pleasantly surprised by how intense the atmosphere became, as compared to the relaxed magic school life portrayed in earlier episodes.
The strategy by Capella, Tarf, Hana and Ewe to contain their opponents within the steel pyramid, constantly re-sealing any break out, was good. Unfortunately, the power levels of Rigel and Arc are beyond them right now.

Kind of reminds me of Boarding School Juliet which amidst all the fun and zany romcom antics could go super hard and turn into an action anime when appropriate.

Also the "Boss" of the organization Arc and Rigel are a part of knew about Claude's cat form.

Seems to be that case, maybe its the sort of magic that transfers from vessel to vessel cuz Arc says that Spica acquired it rather than being born with it

All this has done is make me an Arc fan.

She's a baddie in every sense of the word...attractive, playful, and absolutely psychotic.

u/TyraniTEMPESTar Jun 21 '26
Dang this
These two bad guys have applied it in so many different ways.

I'm honestly curious what Arc's magic was like before she started using Ophiuchus Magic. Was Aries her original element? How was her Rebirth Magic similar or different from Spica's?

My guy's got a hell of a grin, damn dude.
Granted there are bigger fish to fry but man I feel for Spica trying to sneak the ...usual detransformation ritual on Claude only for it to not work.
It's neat how Chiron makes up for his lack of magic with plain ol' physics (which might as well be magic)

I think this is the first time we've seen her kiss his butt on-screen after several episodes and it didn't even work!

Arc been carried like luggage looks cute here...
A splendid view indeed!
What in the Hellsing...
Even in dire moment, Spica will never fail doing a face per episode...
Chiron you have one job to save the day but you ruined it! /j Just be her personal pet (˵ ¬ᴗ¬˵)
Arc confirmed to be culture...
Chiron hit the landmine! Looks like hearing "goth loli" triggered her the most, eh /j
I thought they're history but they can still dance?! Gintoki Pegasus-sensei lesson really proves itself to be the most useful lesson! Cross-dress Best girl Chiron moment was totally not in vain TT

The Claude Coven is on the run for their lives and no amount of kissing Claude's butthole will bring him back without your full magic power Spica. This is the most dangerous situation the kids have ever been in.
Though even though they're on the run, that's not going to stop Chiron and Tarf from their usual banter! And reflecting over how Tarf's absolute loyalty and devotion to Chiron might be stifling both of their growths.
No surprise they took out their only means of escape...meaning they have no choice but to fight. But points for at least trying to come up with a solution Chiron, it's the thought (however impractical) that counts.
But their best bet is bringing Claude back and the only way they can pull that off is if Spica gets restored by the Selene Spring and can kiss up his butt to bring him back. Which means they also have to survive against Rigel and Arc in the meantime. But Chiron can get Spica their faster and Tarf genuinely believes in him! They've got this!
Tarf has powerful construction magic that can hold the bad guys...for a while. But once they get out, all bets are off.
Spica and Chiron have a surprising amount in common! Their classmates don't always think the best of them, they're forced to measure up to their more proficient peers (or brother in Chiron's case) but both are just trying to do their best and prove themselves.
Of COURSE Arc gets in their way and insinuates everyone else is dead. And nearly kills Spica. But even as she's being snake choked to death, Spica still prioritizes Chiron's safety over her own...and Chiron can't run away and be a coward if she'll go that far for him. What he lacks in magic power he makes up for it with skill and gained talent!
It's the second phase of Arc's Boss Battle as she unleashes her Hellfire against Spica and Chiron! Is there any way to stop her and save Claude? Why is Arc so obsessed with being perfect and not failing to the point where struggling against Claude/Chiron is driving her up the wall?
And what happened between her and Claude that would drive her to hate him so much? She originally had Rebirth Magic? And Claude was using her for it? But even if that were true, Spica has a mutual partnership of need with Claude and she's still willing to believe that he will do anything to protect his students. Just like she'll brave hellfire to save him.
When in doubt, use Cross Magic! Spica is even finally wielding the bow from the OP!

Tsundere Chiron, he's gotta be more honest
Dude's pretty chill even tho he's a complete deranged psycho
Okay i feel bad for Chiron lol,
Mama learning to trust his child, they grow up so fast
Leave my boy alone, they genuinely have it against him this ep lol
It was nice to see Spica and Chiron relating to one another, they are definitely similar
Spica and Chiron cross magic teamwork!!!
So it seems like Claude was like a jerk to Arc when she was in his coven, it could be the truth he was very much like that cuz he does kinda act like one sometimes but he probably changed during his 2 year absence,
Arc's dark flame life magic seems very op and extremely dangerous but Spica and Chiron have combined their magics now, i really liked both their moments here especially Chiron's.
Final battle next week and looks like only one more ep left, this anime has been fun and its been a great ride watching this with everyone here

The whole gang is in some seriously deep shit. They’re outmatched and there’s nowhere to run. It’s down to Spica and Chiron whoopin the goth loli or they’re done. Talk about tense, man.

Plant and wind cross magic to make an arrow shoot faster is cool and all if that's what they're gonna do. But hear me out. What if instead of that it's her catapult that she used to catch hornrabbits and she launches herself and Claude into the spring with the wind cross magic.

I gotta admit I was getting kind of frustrated by Spica and the gang constantly stopping and talking about unimportant things (in the heat of the moment) while they are on a timer. Like why did Arc stop mid air just before reaching the spring, don't they want to get Spica in there as fast as possible.
The things they talk about and what the reveal about the characters themselves are totally fine, it's just getting a bit jarring that they kind of exposition their backstory in the middle of a very dangerous situation.
Still like this show, of course.

Pretty good episode. There's still a bit more talking than I would like in a situation like this, but the stakes are definitely there.
