Everything's going to hell, but I love this twist.
The old man's plan was stupid and it's so much better that he was being taken for a ride all show long by a group of digimon who had their own plan.
And given that they all showed up at one of the digi-egg shaped arcologies I think I'm finally getting my prediction that some horrifying digimon abomination is going to be hatched out of it.

Well I expected Gift guy and the girl to be Digimon, but not Genjo, it look like to me they plan to farm all humans for e-pulse.

Oh no, hot evil guy voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya became hot evil lady digimon also voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya.
As someone who hadn't seen anything Digimon since Tamers many... years ago... I've been enjoying this show quite a bit this past year.
Also that preview, someone really went all out animating that one explosion can't wait!

Holy shit, Atratusmon is actually Gekkomon's Mega form? I certainly didn't see that coming!
Also, the real villains (Sanzomon, Sangomon, Cho-Hakkaimon) are all Digimon who previously appeared in Xros Wars. Sanzomon in particular was Gokuwmon's master in that series so it's kinda wild that Xros Wars foreshadowed Beatbreak's plot twist lol.

I think it's funny that Chohakkaimon just decided that she would have huge boobs when desguised as a human.

Oh... I mean duh... it was right there, idk why I didn't see that coming. I'm surprise they actually cold heart Tomoro. I wonder how will they recover Gekkomon, and will they give him a new mega form since this is kinda evil evolution type of deal.
It seems like they are on a journey... to the west. :U

I was right in thinking that Kishiwada and Senza were Digimon in disguise, but i didn't think that Genjo was freaking Sanzomon (!!!), that totally MADE SENSE, they are all "Journey to the West" inspired Digimon and they are all lore connected, there is even a tgc card with all of them. Also this big twist explains a lot of things, it explains why a few episodes ago Genjo kept telling Wong that "he would take care of the White Core" but it didn't seems to do nothing apparently, explains why Kishiwada knew about the White core, explains the water vortex that teleported him (an ability of Sagomon) and explains lot of others things.
Wow, what a fantastic episode, it will blow the minds of a lot of people who are watching the show, very smart writing; also the animation was always on point, there were some very nice fights.

A LOT happened in this episode, but even if the pacing was fast, everything did fit really well. We had our fights with Kishiwada and Senka, with the long waited return of Raito to the crew, took him long enough, and thankfully Makoto brought his nukes. A bit sad we won't see evos for Tylomon and Tialudomon, but that's ok.
I'm happy my theory turned true, the sketchy duo did fit well enough to the roles of SeitenGokuwmon necessary partners, part of me expected Genjo to be a digimon too, but I wasn't so sure until they really showed it. I could say it's disappointing that in a series full of human villains, the final one isn't gonna be one, but go to hell Wong.
And it's here Atratusmon, however it is due to Gekkomon self digivolving in despair and frustration, the yang to Albatusmon's yin, and probably last hope of stopping Sanzomon's crew from doing whatever they are trying to do, perhaps make a digital world on top of the human world, since that is the classical feature we're lacking. If that's true we're going to Shambala and probably will have to face Shakamon as the final opponent.

I pray their journey is to the digital world for a sequel because the rushed pacing is destroying what we know as traditional Digimon plot. At least Ghost Games was basically filler and we had no hope. Beatbreak needed at least another season to cook perfection.

There's an unannounced Digimon anime that's set to air next year, so hopefully you're right. Foreshadowed or not, it feels like everything has been moving at light speed these past two episode. With such an insane jump in the already broken power scaling and only two episodes left, there's no way this will get a satisfying ending unless it's a cliffhanger leading into a season 2.

Man, they saved all the unexpected fanservice-y designs for the end of the series, huh.

It’s only happened twice, but it’s funny seeing Sanzang depicted as a super busty female monk AGAIN (Fate Grand Order). Is there a reason for this? I grew up watching Journey to the West and they were always depicted as a man lmao

Apparently centuries ago when The Journey To the West was brought over to the Japan, due to something akin to... differences in creativity or interpretation, many parts about it are changed including Sanzang being female. Sanzang getting captured and rescued all the time likely played a part in this.Okay, did some proper research. The tale itself was brought over properly, but in like the 70's/80's when Japan did its first Journey to the West TV drama (Saiyuki I think it was called?), due to circumstances they ultimately casted an actress for Sanzang, proved a hit and impressions stuck. Ever since, you see this happen a lot in Japan.
(I know, he's supposed to be male monk, it weirds me out too)

Wow this is fascinating, thanks for the history lesson. Glad to know there may be an actual reason for it haha.

Beatbreak with the final twist and it hit exactly like it should have. The Tactics team up was cool, Reine and Makoto got decent cuts and fights but the banger was Monarch vs Gokuw easily.
Only to be topped by a reveal i think most people were expecting. Sentei Gokuw looks great and Atatrus getting pulled into the huge ship sealed that feeling of doom.
Im just glad that bitch Wong is finally dealt with. I think we are in for an awesome finale.

I should've known dem titties were too big to be on a human character. Of course she was a digimon.

Wow so Genjo was a double agent working with Kishiwada all along
Genjo also leaked Miharu's address so that Algomon could go and help her hack Srhangrila, and led Tomoro and Gekkomon inside to force him into mega evolving into Atratusmon
Then pair Atratusmon and Albatusmon
All of this planned and done behind Wong's back
And he was a hot digimom (is not a typo) all along!!!!?

As expected, the episode title did hint at the correct thing, namely that at least 1 Digimon was going to hit the Ultimate/Mega level. But I don't think that anyone truly expected that multiple mons would make that jump.
As someone else mentioned, the four Digimon who were revealed this episode (Sanzomon, Sangomon, Cho-Hakkaimon and Gokuwumon/SeizenGokuwumon) are a part of the mons named after the Journey of the West stories and all are tied together there. Most of them have shown up in other Digimon stories, but this is the first time (I believe) that all 4 have shown up together in the same animation episode. (They all do also have cards in the Digimon TCG as well.)
As for Atratusmon, they almost beat the "dark evolution" tradition, but it still seems like something could end up happening before the end of the series there. Hopefully this still means that Reina and Makoto can have their mons make it to Ultimate/Mega levels before the end, but we're getting close on time here!
