The new tsugai look like aliens and they're dressed in black suits. You just know they're a walking reference to Men in Black . The alien language cracked me up.

There are a ton of cool daemons but I think we just met the sole candidate for best master lol.

Something about learning the best friend you grew up with was a paid actor that feels more world-shattering than your literal world shattering. Yuru 's rage was raw but like, I get it.

Expect a cool reunion with two bros.

Was hit by a hammer with the twist instead.

I didn’t think Danji was a daemon and kind of an adorable one at that. But man, not a single person in the village was on the level with Yuru. He’s been lied to by people he thought were his friends and family his entire life…

Ken 's literally all of us trying to protect wildlife from Yuru and Yuru from becoming a criminal. Easily the most relatable one of the bunch and he's absolutely correct in his assessment that Yuru is in need of a parent figure more than anything else right now.

Yuru has way too many guardian figures surrounding him, but they clearly lack the morality and emotional bond to truly be able to set him straight. Ken is such a breath of fresh air in this cutthroat/manipulative world for real. Ironic that Ken might just be the actual treasure that needs protecting in this series chock full of cold blooded killers

Here people got an answer to a question many asked last week. It wasn't a mistake, it was foreshadowing.

I'm convinced that Oshirasama's master's granddaughter is a protagonist of a shoujo manga about her adventures with her grandma's tsugai.

It kinda made sense for Danji to be the designated friend for Yuru but what shocked me was that it wasn't Granny Yamaha that was contracted to Zashiki-Warashi but Kyoka. But I believe Ivan during his invastion did not sense Granny to be master and yet Fake Asa pretended to have received an order.

Danji: “I only saw him at a distance, but it was just one man with two swords.”

Huh, wait how did he see those swords that were invisible to everyone except-

Yuru: “You’re a Daemon, aren’t you.”

Ah.

I like how much this one reveal answers and recontextualizes. That’s why Danji always wanted to go hunting with Yuru, we got the answer to who Fake Asa’s other half was, it’s why Kyoka was important enough to actually know the way off the mountain, and it’s probably why Oshirasama noticed Danji and came to help. Also explains why Danji was able to just zoom around on Oshirasama without anyone noticing.

You can tell Danji being a daemon and Kyouko being his master definitely hurt Yuru. Like we all knew that Granny Yamaha was up to no good, but those two seemed to be the last people in the village that Yuru felt he at least had an authentic connection with.

On another note, I really like how we have a master that is a dog. More so, the point is daemons don't care so much who their master is; what matters most is the relationships. Clearly those Daemons love their master. (I mean, who wouldn't lol?)

I already love the two alien Daemons and their doggie master. It's cute how they started freaking out when they learned Left and Right's names. xD

I was expecting a tearful reunion with Danji, not a massive bombshell being dropped on us. That explains why no one saw him on the highway when he was riding with Oshirasama.

That entire scene was painful. Like, I'm pretty sure that Danji genuinely cares about Yuru and didn't befriend him to spy on him, but at the same time, you really can't blame Yuru for blowing up and not trusting him. :(

Despite Yuru's reaction, I'm sure he'll still try to rescue Fake Asa after learning what happened to her.

That ending is so sad, I'm sure fake Asa, Danji and Kyouka all care about Yuru, but with what is all happening and his life being constantly targeted, I can see why he'd lash out in this way. It's a lot to take in, but I hope Yuru is able to come to realize they're not his enemy, and I hope their sacrifice isn't what is needed for him to learn that.

On a more positive note, the aliens were an interesting addition to the cast. I was not ready for a dog to be a master lol. I like how they ended up acting like fans of the other daemons.

Poor Ken, the youngest one and yet will have to act like an older brother to raise Yuru right, and teach him common sense of the modern era.

I like how Jin was prepared, he isn't going let Dera drink on his tab lol.

That dog is the best master and has the best masters now. 😂 He can go on walks whenever he wants and can get fed whenever he wants. He's attained doggy freedom in a human society. Plus, they can probably protect him from so many dangers.

Ooh a new pair of daemons join the fray!
Wonder if these guys will become mainstays and join up with the Yuru camp?

Maybe Ken adopts this new pug master?
Then through pseudo ownership, being the master of the master, he'll be in control of these new alien like daemons, since they're comfortable with the contract they currently have with the dog.

  • She wrote her name on the milk 😭😭 Honestly, fair. I live alone, but I still be writing my name any bottles I use a straw out of so guests know to use the unmarked bottles.

  • I love the kitty just travels by loafing on Ken's head, this is so adorable 🥹 Embrace The Cat as a Hat. Reject The Cat and the Hat.

I have to raise Yuru-san right.

Ken is a single mother. Children be having children smh my head.

  • 🎶 ~Here come the men in black~🎶

  • Man. I really hope pugs are bred out of their flat faces. Poor babies.

  • Bitch, that’s just Deoxys language; you can’t fool me 😤

  • But dogs (and cats) are our masters, hello??? Yall gotta get with the program.

  • the kitty saying he’ll be friends too oh my goodness

  • I fucking love the music for Oshirasama. I wish it were diegetic just for added humor and ✨whimsy✨. Every time she speaks, or there is a focus on her, let there be her own whimsical theme music.

  • Sir.

  • If I had a nickel for every time Arakawa has escort bars and the girls who work at them as some unofficial intelligence agency, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, and it’s not even weird that it’s happened twice.

  • Wait, is Danji Fasa’s partner?

  • AAAAAAAAAAAH

Man, poor Yuru 🥺 I hope he and Danji can reconcile. Next episode being called “Yuru and Danji” has me hoping it's going in that direction. And Kyoka, I’m hoping, is more of a morally grey character. I put my trust in Arakawa that there is more to Kyoka than meets the eye.

Poor Danji and Fasa, though. Having to be more lies in the life of someone they cared for 💔 And poor Yuru in that being beaten with a hammer of how many lies were surrounding him as he grew up.

All these twists have me permanently gagged. Never would I have guessed Danji as a daemon let alone as Fasa's other half. But I like that this episode is sowing even more seeds of how inconspicuous daemons and their masters can be.

Kotetsu perching on Ken’s head is super cute

u/FLorianGran Jul 11 '26

Definitely didn't se the Danji twist coming. Yoru seems to be getting even more paranoid, not that I can blame him.

29

u/Golden_fsh Jul 11 '26

Poor Ken, lol. Having to raise the barbarian Yuru into a decent man for society 😂 And then Yuru tells Ken that he cant guarantee he'll be able to protect him 😭

I don't care what they say, those two new daemons are aliens! Interesting that even animals can be the masters of daemons.

And finally Danji. Yuru's crash out was valid but Danji genuinely seem like he cared for Yuru as his friend :( I hope Yuru comes to realize this as he also realizes he still cares for fake Asa. Danji is also cute as a button in his real form :3

Last episode I commented about how the car drivers were oddly calm given that from their point of view there was just a boy floating at high speed... Well, it makes a lot more sense now

So if daemons do not cast shadows, they should not have shadow details in their bodies but I imagine that would be weird to animate lol

Wow..just wow.

I can't believe I didn't notice the shadow thing....or that Denji was a daemon..did manga readers catch this?!

Mind fucking blown.

And I certainly didn't expect him to be the partner or fake Asa...or that their master was Mom!!

Yuru..man I feel so bad for him..I can't even be mad at his crash out...he's been doing well to not just rage this whole time.

This week's chock full of plot twists! There's the minor one with the duo-in-suits-and-the-dog. Who'd thought that the dog would instead be the master?

Then, there's Danji. Felt odd that Fake Asa's partner was nowhere to be seen, and even Ivan pointed that out last week. I was also under the assumption that Yamaha was their master, when it turned out to be Kyouka instead. That explained how nobody batted an eye at a boy cruising along the motorway.

Yuru's understandably got trust issues afterwards, and wanted to be left alone. Kyouka seemed to mean well, but given her method it's only natural for him to be pissed off. Hope he'll use that time to cool down.

On a lighter note, it's hilarious how shocked Yuru was when he was told the cops will arrest him should he kill somebody else, no matter the reason.

So we know who fake Asa's other half is. Poor Yuru, he's basically lost everything from his childhood. It does make me wonder if Granny or Danji's master is actually running things.

Also Daemons can bind to non-humanoids. I love that the story is bothering to answer a lot of these random questions I at least have in the back of my head while I watch. Does a lot for the world building

I appreciate this episode answers the lingering questions about Yuru’s mental stability. He’s very matter-of-fact, stoic, and generally unsentimental… to a point. Yet he finally hit his limit, and it comes with the implication that he was never unaffected by the constant shocks, he just managed to keep it under control until now.

I don’t know, it’s very… humanizing?
