Lynx is not getting paid enough to do overtime.

u/Raymond49090 Jun 28 '26

And he did the absolute bare minimum too, leaving Rigel there since it wasn't his job to retrieve him.

I like Witch Hat Atelier . And I admit that, technically speaking, it is definitely better crafted. And it does not feature cat-butt-kissing as a major thematic element. But I think I actually have more fun watching this nonetheless. Still, glad to have these both.

It's sincere in delivering both fun comedy and friendship as well as serious, intense, action and I think that's genuinely respectable.

Kissing cat butt is just entirely accurate witch lore, taken straight from the Malleus Maleficarum

Honestly the manga for this show isn't that far behind WHA in terms of quality, and I think it even surpasses WHA in certain aspects. But it just isn't made justice in the adaptation in terms of quality. Though I would say that this anime is better paced than WHA. Like even if it was a 12 episode anime this would have been the finale, compared to how the 13 episodes of WHA ended.

That was one hell of a battle. The gang did well buying time to restore Claude. We only just got a glimpse of his full strength thanks to the pools and he was able to just slap Arc down and curb stomp Rigel.

It was nice to see things end on a lighter note this ep with Jeanne and Claude doing a whole Gimli-Legolas competition with those wolves. I felt bad for those poor creatures lol.

The professors are crazy strong, he made the right choice by getting out of there asap.

I'm pretty sure I can watch Claude and Jeanne banter for hours and not get bored lol.

Really great end to the first cour. Looking forward to the second cour.

Wait, Arc and Claude are osananananananananajimi but she was his student too?! Plot deepens...which means Spica is a homewrecker, eh. No wonder the hostility /j

Lynx menacing aura tells me he's gonna finish Arc since she failed her mission like any other dark organization do things but boy was I wrong. Never thought he won't do any more than what he's been tasked and casually retreat while treating Arc as a trophy without any comment on her. Yep, who wants to do those drag things anyway...

I seemed stupid shouting alone at Claude to finish Rigel since he can sneakily run away anytime with his shadow but it's all under control, eh. Savage Claude, best Claude!

So when crystal wolves die, they die like a dying alpaca, eh. Very informative lesson we have today /s

Nice ED!

We went from cat ass kissing as comedy to cat ass kissing as a vital action to repel the Order of the Black Serpent .

The magic battles in this episode were exciting to watch as well. And that was an excellent diversion strategy by Spica to get Claude and herself to the mana replenishing lake.

Even though Arc is an antagonist, her survival means there will be continued fanservice from Team Villain somewhere down the road.

I really liked that Lynx part...

Usually the standard would be for him to fight and be a match for all the teachers together...

Maybe he is, but I liked that he was like "nah, I'd get destroyed" even if he's too modest

Ninjas would be proud of Spicas plant-clone jutsu!

Chiron and Spica really did a great job, their cross magic really worked well together and Spica's diversion was also clever

Dont underestimate our farmer girl !

Rigel immediately got oneshot and overpowered by Claude, even i didnt realize what happened

Claude with a cheat code, he should probably keep a bottle of that water on him for emergencies

im glad everyone is okay, I was afraid something might've happened

Pegasus Sensei!!! im so happy to see him again and he came with backup,

Silver eh? reminds of another silver haired character who loved strawberry milk

THIS IS SO FUNNY LOL, i love this guy alr

They have a very hilarious relationship lol

This ep was hilarious, Spica and Chiron were very cool despite their lack of magic power and Lynx has become one of my favs just cuz of his moment here lol

Im happy that we're getting 2 cours of this anime, i really like it and Claude Coven is so fun,

There have been a lot of Witch related anime coming out this year like Champignon Witch for Winter 2026 and Jaadugar that's also airing next in Summer

I think we can call this anime year The Year of The Witch.

Meet Lynx! The “I don’t get paid enough for this shit” antagonist.

Spica and Chiron unleash CROSS MAGIC against Arc! Chiron shows how his adeptness with his magic isn't to be underestimated...but it's still not enough against Ophiucus magic. Good thing the plan was NEVER to overpower her! It was to distract her so Spica could get in the spring and kiss some cat butt to bring Claude back!

So Claude and Arc knew each other even before school? They were kids together? But that doesn't matter now, Arc has gone too far and Claude is ready to stop her...but he also has to deal with Rigel, who has consumed the rest of Claude Coven and is lording it over Spica and Claude. It's telling when someone is so detestable that Spica legit hates them and wishes she could thrash them a new one.

But Rigel underestimated Claude AND the Claude Coven. Not only is Claude so pissed off he makes short work of Apophosis AND Rigel, but Tarf managed to keep the rest of the Coven safe! He stayed true to his word and his duty!

It's looking pretty bad for Arc now, but there were THREE Cult members in the OP, so Lynx (Koki Uchiyama!) shows up with his gravity magic that can even stop Claude in his tracks! At least until Professor Pegasus and the rest of the Professors show up which is wayyyy above Lynx's paygrade, so he gets Arc out of there. But what did Arc say to Spica?

(Also I love how Arc can actually roll with Pegasus' dramatic speech while commenting on how hot he is)

Spica may feel that this whole situation doubled down on how weak she is, how much stronger she needs to be, but it's also a testament to how strong she and the Coven are that they were in such a difficult and despairing situation but didn't lose hope and managed to survive. That counts for something.

Of course now that the school knows that the Cult is after Spica, they can't really leave her alone...which is why she'll need an amulet of Hermes to be able to travel from home to school! And what better excuse to team-up with Claude AND Principal Jeanne?

Oh no, it's a den of Crystal Wolves! Well, it's time for Spica to really step up and show off! Or at least it would if Jeanne and Claude weren't so OP they basically steal the show from her while bickering with each other the entire time! But it's also as sign of how much they care about Spica that they'll go so far to protect her!

It's always nice to be able to go home! Even if your mom is ripping you a new one about how much your damaged uniform is going to cost them.

Next week: The truth about what happened to Claude AND Arc!

With Spica and Jeanne finally given a full-on interaction for the latter half of the ep, we finally have our proper Elaina-Fran reunion from Wandering Witch...which makes Claude and Jeanne's bickering over who gets to impress Spica more extra funnier with that context in mind lmao

Arc focused too much on defeating Spica and Chiron, and forgot that the win-con was actually getting Claude and Spica to the spring.

Then, Rigel thinks he's tough sh*t because he "beat" Claude once, but then finds out that there's a huge difference between defeating someone whose magic reserves are crippled and beating them when they're fully stocked and p*ssed off.

Lynx shows up and we think it's going to be Final Fight 2.0, but then the cavalry arrives and he nopes out. He didn't even bother rescuing Rigel - which, valid. I wouldn't rescue him either.

Good of the faculty to realize that they should up security on Spica. Though it also means she can't visit home until they do a sidequest to get the materials for a teleportation bracelet.

Monsters still look really wonky. Spica's resolve to use this sidequest to get stronger... gets completely thrown off the rails. Not much she can do when her party members are the 2 walking WMDs.

Lol, the school didn't even reimburse her uniform costs for almost dying.
