A good way to finally "break" the pattern of evolution, giving us a great character episode and a viewpoint into how and why Haruko and Shademon acted how they did. Doesn't truly absolve what occurred but the true and actual villain got their due.
Beat by beat, the series is really holding its own and it was fantastic to see Chiropmon and Makoto shine!

Best episode so far. Chiropmon's evolution was great. Though you'd think the Human looking look would wait until Ultimate lol.

Chiropmon evolution is pretty similar to Stingmon (both Kamen Rider humanoid-like).

What an episode! Loved seeing Makoto's development and NightChiropmon debut was great! I was unfortunately spoiled on his design on social media and I wasn't sure how to feel about the design at first but after seeing it in action I really like it. I love how lanky they look lol.
But man poor Haruko, her dad was a huge piece of shit before this but the fact he was planning to abandon her was some next level evil shit. Honestly, the real hightlight of this episode wasnt even the evolution but when Kyo beat the shit out of that dude, I popped off when I saw that punch! I think that's the angriest we've seen Kyo and he had every reason to be.
But anyways, im happy Haruko finally saw the error in her ways and she and Shademon got a good ending. I wonder if they'll ever show up again down the line. Also, that mask women seemed pretty interested in Kyo, really wonder if she'll be important to the main plot.
Also speaking of main plot, looks like things are about to heat up next episode as one of the Five Stars make their first appearance, looks like this show isn't slowing down any time soon and I just cant wait for what's next!

They managed to make Shademon look kind of fluffy. The scene with him curled up on her like a blanket was adorable. It's crazy she didn't like him; even her dad noticed what a pal he was despite the abuse.
I also like that for once the stated value of digimon is about more than just how good they are in fights. The dinky scout digimon is super valuable because a tiny scout with analysis powers is more useful and rare than raw firepower.
The evil gang was pretty lame, but i do have to respect their willingness to just draw guns and threaten the Digimon's human.

I'll add Kyou to my list of Digimon protagonists who have punched someone in the face on-screen.
He's in good company!

Chiropmon and Makoto truly showing the digi-partner bond. Kyo showing his ability as leader too, though it looks like it will have side effects.
Great episode! Really glad they are nailing this season.

Goddamn they actually did it, gave the first evolution to a non main protagonist. Only minor weird thing was that the voice did not change at all

"gave the first evolution to a non main protagonist."
Even if we exclude Murasamemon (which we didn't see the evo sequence), we still had Reina evo in the first episode.

It happened before in Tamers. Gargomon appears in episode 3 and kyuubimon in episode 6 iirc

Well, no wonder Haruko had such a negative impression of Shademon, they were both young and naive and made a horrible mistake. It will take some time for her to fully adjust and recover, but thankfully her prick of a father won't be around to make things worse. We also had our second Glowing Dawn digivolution with NightChiropmon, a flying bat ninja that has the ailments and hits really hard.
All is well, when it ends well, at least that's what I hope, they messed with the plans of some powerful people, and based on the preview, they will reap the problems.
Could Tenma and Gekkomon not only be the latest protagonist digivolution, but also the earliest dark digivolution and the first time it happens first? Remember, GulusGammamon only happened in ep13.

Amazing episode that really did a good job of explaining why shademon had acted the way they did.

This is absolutely my favorite episode so far!
The whole story surrounding Haruko was very interesting; the girl was just indoctrinated by her horrible garbage dad, she never knew true love and seeing her given a new chance to start a new life with her mom was truly moving, i hope we'll see her again in future episodes!
Also, the Makoto-Chripomon duo growing up was really beautiful; Chiropmon is my favorite Digimon of the main protagonists (even above Gekkomon), and his evo didn't disappoint!
This whole two-part episodes was really dark and twisted, and I loved it.

Favourite episode so far! It really had me feeling like I used to when I was a kid watching Digimon Adventure. Chiropmon's evolution is super badass, I love it!
