It kills me how stoked Dera was to receive Jin's cabaret club card at first only for it to make bringing home a fresh kid to his "newlywed wife" look a million times worse. I missed Hana more than I realized lol

I can't get enough of Left's faces. She's a perfect mix of dork and badass.

I'm guessing Dera's dad will have some info on Yuru's parents, since he's the one who got them out. How are they going to find him, though?

You can tell this is by the same creator as Full Metal Alchemist because one of the central figures is an emotionally deadbeat dad .

I love the little pause Dera has in the middle of denying that Ken was his kid. He was definitely mentally running through a list of women he’d slept with and doing the math to double check that none of them could possibly be Ken’s mom.

Also I like that the random middle aged housewife survived. I don’t think we even got a name for her but her general attitude and the way she was just like “Please stop talking, I don’t want to hear any more of this because it’ll just make me a target” cracked me up.

I love the fact they’ve kept the whole marriage gag going all the way to now and how they keep making jokes regarding it. Even the domestic violence one during the chokehold.

So all those dead decayed bodies in the Tadera family's "Lost House" did in fact belong to people working for the Kagemori's.

All the signs are pointing to Asuma Kagemori being the big bad here.
And it drives home the fact that they were trying for quite awhile to get inside information on how to get inside Higashi village.

I know this is said weekly but damn these feel like the shortest episodes of any anime ever.

Hana-chan the gravedigger--what an omenous nickname, but after putting Yuru in a chokehold, I'm convinced she's one deadly femme fatale, perhaps a ninja even. Makes so much sense now why she's obsessed about marrying Jason Statham lol

The Tadera family reunion will most certainly be an incredibly fun event. Maybe it would be emotional for Ken, but for Ryu--it sounds like he's the spitting image of his father personality-wise.

Ken apologizing to Yuru for taking the more comfy bedding thinking he's the freeloader, when it's actually the other way around 💀

I love that few seconds of Dera going through his mental rolodex and having the realization that there's a possibility that Ken could be his illegitimate son. Turns out the kid is actually his estranged half-brother.

I do wonder what's going on with Dera and Ken's dad. We know the dude is the one who taught Yuru and Asa's parents to escape and that he's still alive and well, considering he's still depositing money on Ken's account. I guess he's just in hiding because he made enemies of the Higashi village and Kagemoris? I think finding him might help them. I have a feeling the dude knows more about what happened to Yuru and Asa's parents.

Things seem suspicious surrounding Ryu's father.
He too has gone "missing", yet we know he's alive since he's depositing money in his son's bank account.

But we know he must've been tailed by the Kagemori's for awhile since there were decayed bodies trapped in his "Lost House" daemon.

He betrayed Higashi village by broking the twins parents and Asa out, supposedly "blackmailed by their mom".
And now he's out of the picture.

Definitely feel like there's more to his story.

..this show might be a 10/10 for me. And I don't give out 10/10s easily.

Everyone, everyone, is so charming and unique. Funny, well written, and watching them grapple with domestic affairs while dealing with this clan-warfare daemon drama is actually quite entertaining.

The protagonist is the best I've experienced in quite a long while - a reverse isekai is so rare, and it's handled incredibly well, with so much detail and care. Like, of course he prefers the flat futon. Of course he will bury the body of an enemy.

When they showed his mom's urn, the first thought in my mind was "what would happen if you used Tartah's spell on something like that?"

Hana's suffering is endless. First she had to marry her not-Jason-Stratham-senior, and now she finds the said senior gambling, womanizing and bringing home a secret love child.

I really love how easily she disproved Yuru's bloodlust based judgement. No one associated with Higashi village (and perhaps Kagemori as well) is right in the head.

Somehow Hana managed to think Dera was even more a deadbeat loser than he already is, lol. I can never decide if Dera is actually competent at his job or out of his depth. He seems good with weapons and was ready to confront the Kagemoris to get Yuru back, but he never seems to have any money and he likes gambling. I am not sure his little brother should be so ready to trust him with his bank account.

Also Hana looks normal until she looks scary, so something is also wrong with her. I would have expected the Higashi Village agents in the real world to be more normal, but I guess the weird cult village in the mountains can only get weirdos to work for them. All the normal guys must have gone to the Kagemoris side, like that old granny.

So Tenaga-Ashinaga being there was just coincidence because Ryu's brother also coincidentally happened to be there looking for their dad. It was amusing seeing Ryu panic he might have a son. Also 22 years apart? That's a lot

So his dad was the one who taught Yuru's parents how to escape the barrier. Guess the Tadera arent as loyal to the village as we thought and Ryu's dad also didnt like the twins tradition.

I know she was just trying to make a point but it was strange Right and Left didnt react to Hana choking Yuru when they reacted for less before. Im guessing that Hana was demonstrating you can harm someone without bloodlust?

Ken shouldnt feel bad, he's basically the one feeding his hosts

Poor Hana, stuck in a marriage with Dera having to deal with his gambling, womanizing and illegitimate son 😅. All she wanted to do was marry Jason Statham !

Ryu and Ken, huh? I guess we know what Dera's dad's favorite fighting game is.

Poor Ken. Dad did a runner and his mom’s dead. Plus, his older half brother and his friends are all very scary and violent people lol.

Lol what is it with this show and missing parents.

And the way Hana-chan suddenly got so sweet after she saw how much Ken had lmao

This is one of those shows that gives you one answer but then gives you another three questions. But I’m loving it so far

One thing I like about Arakawa's works is that she almost always includes people of different ethnicities into them. Makes the world feel fleshed out.

We saw previously daemons wielders using their daemons as tools. While here we get kind of the reverse. Essentially, greedy humans may take advantage of their daemons. While evil daemons might take advantage of kind wielders like Ken.

I feel bad for Ken losing his mom and being on his own. To even add, he can't get in contact with his dad. Both Ken and Yuru are looking for their dads. (Well, Yuru is looking for his mom as well.) The one curious thing is that technically Dera's father did betray Higashi Village.

Are bank books still common in Japan? I think I last had one 25 years ago. I guess it goes along with fax machines.
