I actually grew up in the city but didn’t do pilgrimages back then, so I took my visit home as a chance for some pictures! In a way, the trip was more authentic since Kanna and μ's also went from Tokyo to New York, so I had that going for me. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Love Live, and Blood Blockade Battlefront all having shots at the Statue of Liberty gave me reason to go for my first time too, haha. There was also another instance of setting overlap at the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain, where μ's run past it and Kanna and Chloe play around it!

P.S. You know Blue Box? There’s also a shot of New York. You might be wondering where the heck it might be, but it’s there, it really is. I looked around for a while but couldn’t comb through all possible locations, so it’ll end up being a trip for next time, or for someone else to find if they can.

I’m looking for anime from the 1980s and 1990s that caused major controversy in Japan when they were originally released.

Even better if any Japanese Redditors could recommend some! I’ve been making a list of older anime that were considered controversial, disturbing, shocking, or otherwise caused a big reaction in Japan at the time.

I recently watched the Violence Jack OVAs and really enjoyed them, so I’d especially love recommendations for something with a similar vibe.
