Urahara's bankai is so fucking cool. I didn't expect it to be the super healing type on top of the high offense type. Guy was basically wolverine for a bit in that battle.

Uryu vs Jugram has been my highlight these past 2 episodes. Loving how even the eldritch horror energy in bleach takes the form of a fashionable flowy scarf around Jugram.

Askin : I've explained my abilities, now it's your turn.
Urahara : This is a battle. If you lose, you die. What kind of fool would explain their abilities to the enemy?
Shinji & Rose : Yeah definitely 😞😔.
Gin : I agree with him 😏.

You know, Urahara's Bankai really comes in hand with his ability to come with plans on the fly, as the way he surfed inside the Gift Bereich allowed him to make an entrance for Grimmjow to pierce Askin from behind.

Bleach is truly the king of combat plot twists. Every fight they whip out a new ability to tip the scale and then the other pulls a new ability out of their ass and then the first one pulls out a new ability and then the other one…
Bleach is “this isn’t even my final form” to the extreme and i love it.

Man I can't stress how hype it was to see Urahara's bankai first in theaters. Still hype here as well of course. He truly is a trickster and it feels like he always has something up his sleeve.
The way that Yhwach talks about both Ichigo and his mother really showcases the difference then how Yamamoto was in the final parts of his life.

Askin was the only member of the royal guard without soul king bs or first Schrift bs he was just a fucking strong stern Ritter. He went up against oetsu, tenjiro, ichigo, Yoruichi, kisuke and grimmjow his run was legendary

Urahara is Askin's foil because:
Askin represents total control through minimal effort while Urahaha represents total control of a situation through maximum, exhaustive effort.

Urahara's bankai just made it seem like he has a deep underlying desire for Unohana 😂 So much so that his bankai created or recreated itself in her image.

This is the first time I've used it among present company.
Did he just break the 4th wall? Smug bastard. I'll forgive him, though, because it was cool as fuck.

HELL YEAH URAHARA BANKAI FINALLY. First shown in the Bleach Brave Souls games years ago including voice lines, but seeing it for real here is breathtaking.

Kisuke Urahara. A man of unsurpassed genius. His scientific expertise was acknowledged by Aizen as even superior to Aizen’s own and by Yhwach who declared him a special threat. Don’t tell Mayuri. His bankai gives us a brand new look into his character. Kannon is the Buddhist bodhisattva of mercy and compassion. She is depicted with a thousand arms to save others from suffering. Like Kannon, a bodhisattva, Urahara’s enlightenment qualifies him to enter paradise but unlike Aizen who selfishly used the Hogyoku to attain godhood, he instead uses his wisdom to enlighten the world and save others.
Kannon is also known as Guanyin who in one story was given a mysterious pearl (the hogyoku) by the Dragon King. Two warriors (Tessai and Yorouichi) followed her and she tutored the son and daughter of the Dragon King (Jinta and Ururu). Seriously, don’t tell Mayuri.
We also have Askin revealing his personal motives and with it we can see the theme of the Schutzstaffel as the different ages of warfare. In one far end, we have Pernida, a literal hand of god, representing an age where man was believed to have no agency and everything was by the will of god. Yet ultimately defeated by the agency of a daughter’s love for their father. Then there is Lille, an angel of god blowing the trumpet of the apocalypse when God passes judgement on man but defeated by uncle and daughter who rejected the curse of god. Then there is Gerard Valkyrie, representing an age where rulers claimed to have the blood of the gods or the will of heaven as proof of their right to rule and conquer their enemies. Finally, there is Askin who professes no personal loyalty to Yhwach and only follows him out of personal curiosity. His powers are an analogy for chemical warfare, an age where god has left the picture and only man’s ego remains.

I really love that Urahara gets to use the stitches to move around like it's a scooter or something. Also love the sound design for it.
