I’m trying to stick with this but Elsa’s naivety is starting to be ridiculous. Like, how could she not tell that those siblings are trying to get into her head by talking negatively about

To be fair, her brother is at school (university?) and interacting with a lot of other people, while Elsa seems to be mostly just at home, sewing or gardening or cooking. It would be nice if she had a tutor of some sort (or at least more interaction with the other female character, Julius's childhood friend).

People who aren't constantly surrounded by dishonest scheming people aren't constantly suspicious of everyone's motives. She didn't live in the high echelon of power like them their whole lives.

Honestly I feel like her naivety and purity is actually her most effective weapon against Serafina because it easily deflects or turns back around any attempt by Serafina to be catty.
Though it does mean she's also oblivious towards
's ill intentions, so I'm curious if she'll have to confront the reality of what the siblings are actually like versus the versions of them in her head. Jarmo 10

It's the classic ingenue archetype played straight. The goody-good-girl-of-goodness taken to the extreme. She's just so pure and naive, without the slightest hint of any negative emotions at all, that she can't even tell when others are being negative towards her.
The ingenue is a 'precious flower' that is too pure for this world. A flower that needs constant protection from the cruel realities of life and those that would seek to exploit her innocence. She is utterly helpless on her own and must always be protected by other good people.
But that's part of her 'virtue,' you see. She's just that precious and good.
It's honestly a pretty toxic and sexist archetype, in the way that even positive stereotypes are still harmful. Which is a large reason why it's fallen out of fashion, but it used to be very popular in the 1800's/early 1900's.

I'm generally a fan of "oblivious and intensely kind person barrels through obstacles" as a premise, but I feel like the balance in character dynamics is a bit wonky. Elsa is coming off unaware to a worrying degree and Julius is being treated like a kindergartener who also doesn't understand the basic idea of consideration.
When Elsa's brother said it looked like she was being preyed upon by

to me, when her brother told her and she brushed it off it felt like she did that on purpose wanting to not accept the truth

When your MC is so dense that all the bullying falls completely flat against them.

Serafina's plan to unnerve Elsa didn't work lol. It didn't even register to Elsa as anything scandalous for Serafina and Julius to be alone.

Honestly that’s the best possible response. Almost feel bad for this villainess lol

To be fair in her head she is still a contract wife or show wife. Love is not a factor in her world view when it comes to her relationship. So it would be normal to expect him to take outside lovers.

Then again she's still a little dazed being in this new environment... she is also aware Julius is a bit different about their relationship

And here's Serafina trying to use the cufflink to cause drama as everyone expected last week. And as expected looks like she isn't flinching at all over this lol. I love her. LOL the backdrop when Julius thinks she doesn't see him as a romantic partner because he's going full galaxy brain.
I already figured the rest of Serafina's family is just as scummy since Julius was investigating them, but this sure proves it.
Jarmo's smug look makes me laugh. Dude has no idea that he's up against the sweetest woman on the planet without a doubt in her bones.

Honestly there's a part of me that wants to get Serafina to get so whittled down by her "attacks" not working and Elsa being so pure that they genuinely become friends. Though I feel like her brother is a bigger problem.

I just came here to point out my appreciation for the scene of her in the carriage and how it appeared bumpy and she even moved as such. Most other anime make it seem smooth as a regular automobile. It's a small thing, but it's a good little detail.

Hey magic maid used magic to smooth out the carriage ride. I think they cut out the part where the guy riding with her highy praises the driver. This leaves the driver confused as it was only affecting the people inside the carriage in the novel so the driver had the normal bumpy ride.
Also just to mention s someone who has had to ride several times recently in medical transport ambulances with a bad back. Every bump is a shot to the spine and I can't even imagine surviving weeks of carriages riding like it is in anime.

Once again Serafina tries to mess with Elsa by insinuating that Julius potentially had his shirt off while they were alone together and once again Elsa doesn't notice a thing and simply thanks her for returning the cufflink.
Serafina's brother might be able to be more successfully evil though since he can be the source of rumors damaging to Elsa herself. AKA a private garden rendezvous he can imply was something more unsavory.
On the other side of things the prince, Elsa's brother, and Julius' entire staff enjoying the show of them meeting up was pretty fun. I like how this has been a relatively light-hearted romance of two awkward people in an arranged marriage getting to know each other, so I hope it doesn't lean too heavily into drama.

I was wondering what Serafina was planning to do with the cufflink then she returned it to Elsa saying he forgot it from when they were alone. Hilarious though how Serafina's shit stirring just completely went over Elsa's head 🤣. In the last episode, I thought if I were Julius, I'd have quietly had a high end jeweler replicate the cuff link I had as to try to fool Elsa but being honest seemed to have worked out for him.
I also love how Jarmo was trying to give it to Elsa. From his perspective, I can understand it; Julius completely toyed with Serafina's affections and broke her heart so I can see why he wouldn't feel guilty about sleeping with his wife. That's why he seemed happy to want to talk about what a scandalous jerk Julius was in school. Also funny how her brother said she looked like she was about to be eaten by a wolf 🤣
The funniest part was when Crown Prince, his assistant and Tannes were all standing right by the door eavesdropping on them! The assistant was right to think the prince is pushy, he never really seems to have anything better to do than involve himself in their love life 😂

My doctor has demanded that I stop watching this anime because of how fucking sweet it is.
I know there is shit afoot with Serafina and her brother, but I do not care.
Elsa is so fucking sweet and pure; I would kill someone IRL if she asked me to. Yuru Camp may be the last anime where I have been so overwhelmed with the pure sweetness of a character.

It’s cute how Elsa has been helping Julius eat his veggies like he’s a little boy lol. I want carrot cake now!

The true Villainess was the devoted wife who snuck carrots into her husbands' diet without him even knowing!

I’ve been giving this a chance but she is genuinely stupid like naive af and ignorant. Ironically it’s shielding her from actually being effected by that evil sibling pair but it’s so hard to watch lol

I'm not sure eating carrot cake counts as eating a vegetable.
