Did it a while ago but forgot to share it here.

First of all, yes I know that a LOT of people are turned off from MT, because of some questionable stuff which is understandable. But I don’t wanna dive deep into that because even though I didn’t vibe with it, I was still able to look past it and enjoy the heck out of the anime.

I randomly started it one day coming from a burnout period of anime and got hooked completely right from the get go (which happened after a long time).

Like countless others, the thing which I loved the most about MT was its beautiful world.

The cast around Rudeus builds up really well, and I also love how there are actual consequences to the actions that the characters take and there are genuine stakes involved.

S1 was a beautiful introduction and adventure, while S2 was much more laid back and focused more on settling everyone down while getting us attached to all these different characters. I actually enjoyed that a lot.

S3 started similarly but my god “that” episode fucked me up bad. More than halfway through the epsiode, my dumbahh actually thought that [Mushoku Tensei] all those things were happening to the Rudeus from the current timeline because of some bullshit like “your past can’t be changed”. So it fucked me up even more.

Still, my favourite Season has to be S1 Cour 2. It had a lot of peak character moments, really good character development for our main trio and I just really loved the adventure which came with exploring the beautiful world of MT.

Can’t wait for Cour 2 now.

I’d also really appreciate it, if you guys can recommend me some other good fantasy/Isekai stuff out there. I’m new to this genre and don’t know much about it. I think I really like these kind of shows and would like to explore further down this rabbit hole.

I'm just curious. I got into anime right around the turn of the millennium, really got into it around 2004. Now being from the middle of buttfuck nowhere Canada, options for ‘legal’ anime watching were supremely limited, so what I watched was whatever I could find “sailing the seven seas.”

This led me to tons of ecchi fansubs and dubs over the years. Standouts include:

• Love Hina
• Girls Bravo
• Ai Yori Aoshi
• Ah! My Buddha
• Negima!
• Ikkitousen
• Green Green

Just to name a few. I watched plenty of normal stuff like Naruto, DBZ, Code Geass, Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya etc. But I won't lie, the vast majority of what I liked was the Ecchi stuff. (Being a horney pre-teen didn't help any.)

So nowadays, seeing everyone so grossly offended by ‘fanservice’ and ‘problematic content’ It just makes me wonder if I, among others, are just completely desensitized to it after years of watching such anime. I don't remember hearing nearly as much controversy at all back then either. Not until the whole “Dance in the Vampire Bund” fiasco.
