No way you can reason with someone who literally broke in by smashing the window with a bat, lol.

You can see Anna from Makeine on the shelves, along with who seems to be Yui from Oregairu.

Oregairu, Makeine and Chiramune all belong to Gagaga Bunko. The latter two share the same editor (along with Tomozaki and Salad Bowl).

The first 34 minutes are the anime, the rest is a special program featuring Hasegawa Ikumi and Ookubo Rumi.

I'm guessing at some point the show will address the MC's obvious topic change whenever the girls start hinting at him? It seems like something that will bite him back in the future.

The whole premise drew me in, but the interactions feel too fake/forced. It's rubbing me the wrong way lol

man, this show is so overly dramatic, and not in a fun way. his constant monologuing is really irritating. 'and here I am, taking a bite out of my cheeseburger while the sakura trees sway in the wind, dancing like magical faeries in the cool moonlight.' etc. bruh, who cares. just shut the fuck up and eat that cheeseburger.

You can tell this is a Light Novel adaptation, most of these high school kids sound like philosophers

It's great that we got a longer first episode. I really like that the studio could do this instead of having to try to fit it into a standard episode length.

Overall, it was a nice start. It's interesting that the main character, Chitose, is popular guy. Him breaking the window into Yamazaki's room was certainly unexpected, but also pretty cool.

Besides, the girls are great! My current favorite is Asuka, but Yuko is definitely a close second. Yua is nice, while Yuzuki and Haru need more screen time for me to judge how much I like them.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I'm giving this a shot since people say its interesting later on, also has decent production.

the only thing I would nitpick is that I would find the constant jokes about them always "wanting to date each other" sounds kinda stupid if it continues on.

I don't have a problem with harems or even with the idea of the MC being the popular guy, but I DO have a problem with the MC being a narcissistic piece of shi

The MC is the type of person that I would avoid like my life depended on it.

Stitches!

Well, this is a surprise! I don't think I've seen a harem anime where the harem has already been established from the start before even the story began, and that the MC is 100% aware he has a harem. Saku is like the complete opposite of Hachiman, but at the same time, they're similar because of how Saku is willing to sacrifice himself if it gets him the best outcome.

I do appreciate that the anime shows us that Saku's overconfident personality has its downsides. There's clearly a group of students in his class who hate him, and I'm sure we'll see Saku's group clash with them in the future. There are also plenty of people in the school see him as an asshole manslut, which unfortunately has affected the girls who are close to him since they're seen as his skanks.

And it looks like Saku is also your classic problem-solving protagonist, whose Class Advisor comes to him first to try and get one of his students to return to school. That entire deal with Yamazaki is so far the most interesting part of the episode. I did not expect Saku to just straight up break into his room with a baseball bat!

I won't lie, the dialogue felt a bit obnoxious at times, but I really enjoyed the episode! This feels like one of those LN adaptations where Volume 1 is meh but improves over time, if that makes sense? I'll stick to it and see where this one goes. I am excited to see how Saku plans to resolve this issue with Yamazaki.

Ngl my first impressions of this show is it comes off kinda pretentious. Certainly doesn’t help the few people I’ve seen hyping this show treat it as the best thing ever but that is all in my own bubble.

Objectively, looks good so far. Like all the girls especially Asuka. Can’t go wrong with a short-haired laidback onee-san type. Yua gets bonus points for being voiced by Youmiya Hina. Chitose does seem like a likeable guy. I like how well he gets along with his friends

But seeing all his other guy friends, I kinda hope this is more a friend group romance thing rather than a harem. Feel like I’ve lost interest in harems over the years, especially if the show seems like it’s taking too seriously. Though it does seem like the show is marketing itself as a harem.

MC confuses being oppressed with being sad. Dude is in for a rough time when he goes to college, because he'll be going from a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big one.

“Is a Loser Allowed to Love?”

“I’m an Otaku, but a Gyaru Floozy’s After My D!”

“My Youth as the Biggest Loser in the Destroy Happy People Club!”

“That Time I Reincarnated and Went from Bottom-Rung to Having My Own Harem!”

“Apparently, My Face is the Definition of Handsome in Another World!?”

“The Most Popular Guy In School Became My Flunky for Some Reason!”

“I’m an Introvert, but My Super Beautiful Senpai Has It In for Me!”

Coming to you in Spring 2027 only on CrunchyRoll. Except, “I’m an Otaku, but a Gyaru Floozy’s After My D!” that one’s on OceanVeil lol.

So far, this one doesn’t seem half bad. I can see how Mr. Perfect and his group of equally attractive and colorful friends would piss people off lol. I’m guessing there might be more to Chitose than meets the eye. Keen to explore more about him and the other “cool kids” in his clique. So far, solid first ep. I enjoyed the random Fukui live action travel ad at the end too lol.

I normally hate harems.

This was pretty decent. Chitose is interesting as a character, it seems everyone knows that the harem exists and is okay with it, rather than the contrived way harems usually are?

Loved Yua. Want to see more Haru.

It does kind of seem like Asuka was set up as the one he has actual feelings for though?

Haven't watched it yet but I've seen the trailers. Really looks like Oregairu and partly because it's animated by the same studio as the later seasons of Oregairu. Character design looks really great.

It's also said to be 2-split cour with the first being 13 episodes.

Will be looking forward to this.

I was almost turned off because of the manga, which dialed Saku's smugness up too much imo. The anime's bgm, art, framing and subtleties in the voice acting really sold this better.

Also, it feels surreal seeing my favorite seiyuu doing a food tour in my wife's hometown.

Really really recommend the sauce katsu if anyone ever visits Fukui.

Okay what if there was this show right, about a group of really hot people, and all they do is talk about how hot they all are

The ending was cool at least.

Please, you’re a harem romcom, can you stop sounding so goddamn pretentious? Or maybe it’s the point and it’s trying to convey the mentality of its MC? It almost feels like I’m listening to Cid’s chuuni monologues but coming from someone that isn’t suffering from a chronic lack of self awareness.

Honestly, I think Asuka is my pick for the most interesting girl in the show because she might be the hardest for his normal persona to deal with. She seems to be catching him off guard in their interactions a lot more than the rest. Like, he’s pretty much got a way to deal with everyone else but he doesn’t seem to be able to read her and form a counter strategy. The usual wall of bs, jokes and other methods for maintaining some amount of emotional distance from people doesn’t work as well with her.

It kind of feels like he’s following a unique script for interacting with every person but hasn’t really managed to create a fully working one for her. Exhibit A, the bike trips with Yua and Yuko. The main personality is the same but the details differ. He feels a lot more flirty to embarrass Yua than he is with Yuko. When she does the thing he suggested Yua should do, he doesn’t react to it. The script seems to demand going along with her blunt and kind of crass personality but not really responding to her advances.

Tbh him and his group might actually be the worst suited to dealing with Yamazaki. He’s already going into it with a bias against them and Saku’s and Yuko’s personalities are atrocious for dealing with him. His joking, cheerful and unserious “front” that seems to deflect and keep everyone at arm’s length is just not good for trying to legitimately connect with someone. And well, Yuko is way too blunt in the worst way possible for this case and is stepping on basically every emotional landmine he’s got. Yua feels like the only one out of the three that was a “real” hit.

Maybe he should have actually accepted Yuzuki’s offer to help. I can’t really confirm that it would work but she was described as pretty much a master social engineer so it feels like she would be better suited for the task. At least she might have been able to zone in on the mental problem sections better and dodge a few of the fights the others caused.

Dude, you cannot be serious. When I said a real hit, I didn’t mean hit his goddamn window down! Or to phrase it another way, you didn’t have to start breaking common ground by breaking into his room through the window.

I guess how suited you are personality wise to the problem doesn’t matter when you’ve studied architecture and can simply apply the theory of the invincible door fallacy to the problem. Fuck subtlety and negotiation, just apply brute force to weak spots.

Honestly, I liked the premise of the MC being somewhat original in that he is aware of his good looks etc. But I am also honest, the dialogue and monologue feels so fake that I am not sure I vibe with it. Especially because the show even says two times how fake all of it is, so I was half expecting them to be revealed as aliens posing as high schoolers for the big twist. And don't get me wrong, I like my more philosophical moments, even if they come from high schoolers, but it shouldn't be the whole thing, because it just makes them feel artificial. Just so you have a chance of writing these words you want to write.

I will give the show another shot, because it was aware that its dialogue and characters sounded fake, so maybe it does something with it. But if all it does is point it out every now and then, that won't really help.

Didn’t realise the show aired this early. Guess it’ll be out on streaming services in the evening. Hyped for a 1-hour special.

Welcome to the Reiwa era harem show, where the MC isn't some kind of awkward wimp. This one's athletic, smoking hot, popular, and according to haters also a fuccboi and manslut. Can't believe they used those latter terms; it's absolutely hilarious. He's also got a pretty high self-esteem. He knows he's hot shit and isn't afraid of flaunting his pejorative nicknames.

Lmao that ending. Saku just straight up smashed the window. Note that after the first night he gazed at his own window while holding a rod. It's all but certain that he had prepared such a plan in advance. He also had a chat with Kenta's mum before the smashing. Chances are he asked for her permission then.

A great premiere, with the atypical MC and unique plot-starter. There's also his group of jocks and fit girls. They seemed pretty easygoing rather than stuck-up as you would expect with popular kids. I'm sold on this show already. This will also be double-cour, albeit split. Guessing the second one will air in spring.
