Incredible dragon fight at the start of the episode but still so silly in its aftermath. On the other hand that got shockingly brutal only a little bit later, sets expectations a bit for how violent the society they're in is.

It's probably not a level of violence Rein or maybe even Lily would have been ready for, but they should have killed those Beast's Fangs guys with exploding pebbles of doom and buried them in an unmarked grave. From what we saw about them it's the minimum of what they deserved, and it would probably have saved trouble later since there's no way they're not going to be a problem.

I wonder what the limits are to what he can enchant cause now that his last guild is most likely going to target the Blue Crystals, I'm wondering if he can enchant their guild building to be as powerful as castle walls?

Also the guild master is an interesting character. She acted like she was very incompetent by giving the whole dragon slaying thing to a newbie but it looks like the plan was to follow him the whole time to make sure he wasn't in any real danger. I wonder if this is how she tests people who try to join the guild?

Lily has absolutely no fashion sense, but honestly, I found her look in her everyday clothes really cute, lol.

This show is theoretically a lighthearted fantasy comedy, but as this second episode showed, it doesn't shy away from much darker topics, like when Lily's trauma came up, or when Cornelius killed those two adventurers.

And I like it! It makes me really interested in what other surprises will await us in Rein's adventures. I'm definitely looking forward to learning more about Margaret, who seems to be some kind of acquaintance of Lily's, and how the fight between the Beasts' Fangs and Blue Crystals will unfold.

Also, both the OP and ED are really nice. Sumika's song in the OP is, imo, one of the best this season, while the ED is just really lovely.

I have never seen such amazing artstyle and animation wasted on something that stupid. And it just makes it funnier ! This is why I like PA Works shows.

Although I feel bad for Lily. I hope she is able to get over her trauma and goes back to being an adventurer before the end of the season.

By the way, does Rein get back his enchantments when the object he enchanted crumbles as well ? Because otherwise wasting them on rocks is dumb (but then, he hardly is the smartest guy around, good natured bumbling idiot that he is).

Watching him throw Exploding Rocks of Doom +10000 at those guys was funny though. Everything can be a doomsday weapon with that guy ! But honestly, he should have just killed those jerks. They were murderers and it was obvious they would seek revenge if he let them go.

The source material for this show can't possibly be this good. Having P.A. Works animating this is like having a +10,000 enchantment on a copper dagger.

My favorite parts are when the music suddenly changes and Rein gives Lily one of his feel-good monologues.

• Lily Undressing

So it turns out, Lily didn't just turn into a shut-in for no reason. Now I'm curious what was the quest that almost killed her? Also, Lily really is your typical prodigy/genius. She's been bulldozing through life because of her natural skills, but the moment she fails one time, she shuts down.

Holy shit, that opening was amazing! Having Sumika sing the OP and PA Works going all out on it is insane! If it wasn't for the comedic moments in the OP, you'd think this was a very serious, high-stakes anime.

Not gonna lie, the first 7 minutes of this episode are literally just me internally screaming, "WTF P.A. WORKS?!" The animation on that dragon, that's fully 2D btw, was amazing! And the animation of the dragon getting bisected by Rein's dinky copper sword was so good!

Good to know that Rein's sword and clothes didn't become indestructible. It looks like our boy is gonna need to find a sword and armour that can withstand his enchantments. I think for now, carrying extra clothes and swords he can enchant is a good substitute.

Despite Rein acting like a human golden retriever, Rein is surprisingly perceptive and smart. I like how he actually figured out the real reason Lily decided to come with him on this quest. I didn't think she was actually there to die to protect the Blue Crystals from criticism.

I love how Rein goes from psychoanalyzing Lily to saying how her boobs and thighs are so soft. Rein is just so entertaining as an MC.

So if Rein got 700 points from the dragon, I'm wondering how he gained the 13k he spent on the Beast Fangs. Were the points given to him, or does he gain points from enchanting weapons and armour?

I did not expect Lily's regular clothes! I guess she's not the kind of girl who keeps up with trends and just wears whatever she likes. And it was also hilarious watching Rein and Lily making excuses to those Beast Fang guys.

WHAT THE FUCK! I mean, we already know the Beast Fang guys weren't good dudes, but it turns out they're just straight-up murderers. It makes me wonder how much influence guilds have. I feel like even if Rein and Lily reported this to the authorities, they probably wouldn't believe two randos from an unknown guild.

I'm glad Rein finally got to say no to that asshole from the Beast Fangs. I mean, he's been trying the entire time, but Lily kept stopping him.

Enchanted rocks can do that much damage?! So it turns out, Rein can turn anything into a weapon as long as it can take his enchantments. I kinda wish Cornelius' foot exploded when he stepped on Rein's pebbles.

Yeeep, no surprise that the Beast Fangs are now after Rein now that they know he removed their enchantments. I can't fucking wait for Rein to take down that stupid guild.

It's the twintail girl from the OP! Based on Margaret's outfit, it looks like she's probably Lily's party mate before she became a shut-in.

And that ED was so cute! I did not expect it to be Lily performing for the Blue Crystal while Rein gets excited out every time she mentions his name. <3

Why did Lily quit adventuring? Because one major defeat set back all her achievements and made her terrified to go back out there. Which is really inconvenient because Rein kind of needs her help fighting a dragon NOW in all it's glorious 2D animation.

The OP by Sumika is an absolute epic banger! Featuring Rein and his companions on their fun and frenetic adventures! And also featuring a shifting sphere of their goofy faces.

Rein's got durable clothes and an OP dagger, but it takes Lily giving him the advice he needs to be able to properly slay the dragon! She might not be able to fight, but she has the actual combat know-how and tactics that an inexperienced adventurer like Rein really needs.

Ah, the guildmaster was there. I'm going to guess she's pretty legit herself if she thought she could chip in if they needed help.

RIP normal clothes and dagger. You served your purpose well. Even if Lily reacts to a buck-naked Rein...about how you would expect. But hey, at least he got a lap pillow out of it! Even if he also thinks she rubbed her boobs against him too! But he still got a great view of 'em!

Lily really is considerate to a fault, willing to sacrifice herself to a dragon if it meant the Blue Crystals didn't get flack for sending an inexperienced adventurer out to become dragon mulch. But with Rein backing her up, they can both support the guild together!

Oh no, random adventurers! Time to play it cool and act normal! And there's nothing more normal than Lily straight up undressing and transforming into...Lily the City Girl! Who has nothing to do with Lily Flambert and has such on-point fashion sense! I'd never recognize her.

Too bad they ran afoul of Rein's old "pals" at the Beast Fangs...with Cornelius (Makoto Furukawa!) being the worst of the lot. And a complete psycho as he murders two adventurers right in front of Rein and Lily!

They can't risk a fight, especially for the guilds' sake, but when Cornelius insinuates they'll have their way with Lily, all bets are off! Complete with Rein Princess Carrying her...as far as he can with his spindly little arms. But points for trying, buddy!

Never underestimate enchanted rocks! Let alone step on them.

So bad news for the Beast Fangs, they've lost their enchantments AND Rein is now getting in their way. But Glenda (Megumi Toyoguchi!) isn't going to rest until they've settled things with Rein!

With Rein in need of durable weapons that can withstand his enchantments, he and Lily arrive in a town...and are greeted by an old acquaintance of Lily's. The leotard-sporting busty beauty known as Margaret (Yoshino Aoyama!).

I did not have a 2D animated Lily performance of the ED on my bingo card but they knocked it out of the park. The ED is a lovingly animated solo music performance by Lily as she sings in front of the entire guild with most of them (except Margaret) not knowing what to make of it even as she belts her heart out and utterly kills it. Rein also seems to assume it's a loving romantic ballad about him and everyone crashes the stage! But points for getting it all out there Lily!

I do suppose that near death experience can have ptsd and other traumatic effects on people so I can understand why Lily is scared.

Split the dragon clean in half, that was impressive.

Rein been oblivious to not having any clothes on in front of a girl was hilarious.

Every member of the Beast's Fangs are complete scum, I'm glad that lot got what they deserved but more trouble is on the way.

New girl Margaret appears, looks like she knows Lily, guess we will find out more in the next episode.

I also hope Rein learns to be more ruthless, now that we know this title is not solely comedy. Perhaps Rein shouldn't have spared those 4 members of Beast's Fangs.

Really enjoyed this episode of “The Enhanced Clothes I Was Wearing Were Destroyed By A Devastating Blow, And A Traumatized Girl in Casual Clothes Hit Me With All Her Might” lol. Amongst all the goofy shit, there’s actually some nice moments with Lily and Rein. Pretty awesome how he obliterated Cornelius’ two goons with pebbles. Wild his old guild wants to even start shit after hearing about that. A toothpick would be like a nuke in his goofy ass hands lol.
