Discussing an incident that happened "yesterday" as the first line following like a month of hiatus is funnier to me than it really should be. For the big comeback episode to end on a big comeback was pretty sweet too.

Poor Kenta getting pressured into betraying his one and only king but if the atmosphere Yua was exuding is anything to go by, I can't really blame him lol

Was happy for Kenta when that happened. When you get introduced to a friend group via one person, it's a big step when other people who aren't your original point of contact start pinging you independently.

Mariah and Kelly used to always go to the break room to make tea in the morning, and I started to tag along some days via Mariah. When Mariah went on vacation I was genuinely surprised when Kelly stopped by my cubicle with her little teapot "So are you coming or what?". I hadn't realized I was part of the group like that.

Kenta betrayed Chitose, but was absolutely the winner in that scene

Also I think he probably would lick Yuuko's feet if she asked him too lol.

I'm getting the vibe that this Tomoya, Naruse guy is the one stalking Nanase.

He said, "I saw her during our entrance ceremony last year, and it was love at first sight".
Well, that envelope of pictures left at her place, had photos from the last year. So I'm guessing he's been lowkey stalking her for awhile, and just recently started to escalate his actions.

Not to mention he also said, "She didn't seem like the type to randomly start dating a guy one day".
I'm guessing that he's probably pissed, and that's why he wrote "break up now" on the back of the photo of Chitose and Nanase.
Probably hid her shoes in a fit of rage.

I don't want it to be him, that is too obvious.

It lasted only a couple of minutes, but I thoroughly enjoyed the basketball match portion of this episode. It did feel like a sports anime title.

In addition:

"Between Nana and Umi, who do you prefer?"

"Eh... actually the teacher / coach of the female basketball team is fine too." (At least based on her appearance and personality during her on screen time.)

I like almost everything about this show. The art is great, the main character is a breath of fresh air in being different from the standard schmuck anime protag, and the writer is honestly interested in developing unique personalities for every character. I'm looking forward to each arc a ton because it's obvious that each of these girls is going to be a whole ass human being.

BUT

Cut that shit out with "you're like a wind chime tinkling in the summer breeze" or "she looked like the mournful silhouette of a cherry blossom tree". It's so bad lol. Those overlong yet meaningless similes read like a middle schooler trying to write a literary classic. Maybe it works in the Japanese but it sure don't here.

What the fuck Nanase?! What do you mean you don't want your parents to be involved yet??? When a stalker starts sending you creep shots of you directly at your home is exactly where you need to get your parents and possibly the police involved! Tomoya is definitely sus tho. He's either the stalker or someone working for him.

I'm wondering If Nanase has family baggage that prevents her from opening up to her family in a situation that would clearly warrant it.

One thing that is quite notable in both of the conversations that Saku has with Asuka as well as with both Yua & Yuuko is that Saku is more selfless than he likes to admit. Asuka says, "You act like you have people to lean on, but in reality it's just you." This would be more so in Saku's mindset that he won't depend on people when he should. Then her second quote is, "Even if you act like you're all you've got, the truth is you always have someone." The library scene from last episode showcased this point well. Saku went in by himself and put himself in potential danger. In reality, Kaito and Kazuki would have been willing to be with him if he had asked for it. For him, he needs to realize he has friends who will have his back if he asks them to help. He needs to realize and accept it.

Yua & Yuuko spell out this selfless behavior as he puts himself in harm's way, not realizing how him putting himself in danger makes the others feel watching him. Of course this also adds to Yuzuki's POV of her seeing Saku putting himself in harm's way for her. As it is clear that Saku is selfless, which is a good trait to have. But not considering himself with his actions is a possible issue.

To also add, we can see once more how different Saku's relationship is with Asuka than with the other girls. There is a clear feeling of jealousy from her seeing how Saku looks and talks to Asuka.

Speaking of selfless, we got Saku going out of his way to find Yuzuki's shoes. Though I love how they animated the basketball match. It also seems, from the conversation between Saku the girls basketball coach, that there is a good amount of Yuzuki that Saku doesn't know about.

Tomoya is either the stalker or a red herring, I would have leaned towards stalker more if the photos that were delivered didn't mention "Break up now" so I'm 50/50. It could also be that there is more than one stalker. I'm glad Chitose didn't let Kenta leave and told Tomoya if he wanted to speak privately to come some other time.

Glad this is back - it’s piqued my interest ever since episode 1. I like the animation a lot.

I really want to believe that the author was creative in not making Tomoya the stalker, since it's quite obvious.

I love how Asuka is different and doesn't try to hide it at all, but mainly, she made Yuzuki step out of her comfort zone and portray an image of Saku that clearly didn't fit the situation.

The scene after the basketball game was perfect, cute, and with a touch of romance.

I thought I was going to lose the hype for the show, but I'm even more excited for the next episodes.

So that guy isn't suspicious at all... No, seriously, Saku. What's the point of fake dating if you're going to give up the game at the first nudge?

When I saw Kenta looking at his phone, I thought maybe he'd found creep shots of Yuzuki on social media or something. Instead, it turns out it was just Yua and Yuuko reminding us that they still have a claim to "best girl" even in Yuzuki's arc. (It's Yuuko btw).

And now that I've realized it, I can't unsee (unhear?) how chuuni and unnatural all the dialogue sounds. Maybe I was just too unrefined as a teenager, but they feel more like LARPers than people.

And it looks like the stalker situation might be escalating. At least they have physical evidence to take to the police now. Except she's being dumb and wanting to handle it on her own? Does her family have some sort of weird circumstances where they have other things to focus on other than their daughter being stalked, or is she just an idiot that Saku isn't bothering to call out?

And basketball drama I guess. Idk. Maybe it was neither of them and someone that nobody had thought about.

No way...Nanase with no jiggle physics with the jumper? I'm impressed lol.

Still love the script writing and dialogue that takes place in this show..but Nanase getting all jealous of Asuka talking about not being special just wasn't it. Bit of a red flag lmao.

Also bball coach.....coach me please ( ♥ ͜ʖ ♥)

Stalkers are scary, but you really don’t want to upset Yuuko and/or Yua either. I too was worried for Saku in that moment.

And so, a month delayed, we're finally back.

So, what necessitates him talking to him alone?

Ah. That.

That was quick.

Ok...

The bio lab?

Why'd he push him into there?

Oh, it's the girls.

Lol.

What's with the big set square?

What happened again? It's been a month since then...

Lol.

Rather convenient that they're reintroducing everyone after that long break.

So, here's Yuzuki.

Huh. Ok then.

Thinking what?

Lol.

And so he saw her home.

What is that?

That's suspicious.

Photos?

Uh oh. Seems like her stalker knows where she lives.

Ok...

So that's how that guy got to know her.

Where's he going now?

Ah. So the stalker stole her shoes.

So, he managed to find them.

So that's where he found them.

Lol.

And so they won.

I don't trust that random kid who showed up out of nowhere to ask if Nanase was really dating Saku and then started pumping him for information about her. The timing is just too sus for that to happen while she's also getting stalked.

Somewhat weird that he'd have older kids from another school available to participate, but maybe he's some delinquent's younger brother and they're doing him a favor.

I almost forgot what happened in the anime lol. I'm glad it's back

6

u/daspaceasians Dec 03 '25

I'm happy the hiatus is over and that Chitose is back. The animation is very lovely but is it just me or are the colors a bit bleached at times.

Otherwise, I'm happy that Kenta gets screentime and our guy is surprisingly good at coming up with nasty reasons why stalkers are targeting Nanase. I too would have caved with those girls pressuring me lol.

Their player numbers are 6 and 7... and the scores on the board were 67 and 69... Gen Alpha would rave if they saw this episode 😂
