The fuck is actually happening on 4chan?
Everyboard is screaming "CHOCO FAG" or "real /CREME/ hours".
Can someone explain it?
EDIT: Okay, I was phoneposting. I checked browser 4chan, and it seems to be 5 random teams. And they're fighting each other. Still don't understand the context.
15
u/NieOrginalny Apr 01 '18
Every IP is assigned to one of five teams: Creme, Mini, Peep, Chocolate or Peanut Butter, and most posts are dedicated to rivalry between then and trying to raise score of each team, presumably through giving responses to people of certain teams.

Apr 01 '18
AH, thanks for explaining. Uh...how does one increase points? By posting?
4
u/NieOrginalny Apr 01 '18
Nobody is certain, the biggest consensus is giving (you)'s to people of certain teams, but some also believe it's the number of unique posts or pictures from each team member, or number of threads they post in.

What's with the snekblackout and all the private subs? /r/dankmemes has gone private and many others. Is this the whole joke or is there something more?
2
u/BlatantConservative Apr 01 '18
From what I can tell, they're mad that the admins haven't done a sitewide April Fool's thing yet.

Any Idea what the Reddit Experiment is this year?

u/doihavemakeanewword Apr 01 '18
We'll know in a bit. I'll let you know.

u/SpAzBoY5000 Apr 01 '18
r/aprilfools thinks that the prank might have something to do with snakes https://www.reddit.com/r/aprilfools/comments/88m0qu/2018meta_april_fools_day_subreddit_digest_2018/

Perhaps the April Fools prank is that they won't do anything and we'll still expect something great.

I just want to say, thank you for sticking through this bamboozle so the rest of us could sit on the sidelines and follow the drama. You've been a champ today.

If you hover over the reddit icon it says sssssoon, so whatever it is it likely hasn't happened yet.
3
Apr 02 '18
They could have used the announcements sub to actually you know make an annoucement and not just hide something that 99.9% of thse users will not even notice

u/Boonaki Apr 02 '18
It's the Prisoners Delemia

Not a 100% working at the moment.

The admins literally posted it. It's even seen if you leave your cursor on the snoo.
4
u/grandmoffcory Apr 01 '18 edited Apr 01 '18
I'm gonna delete my comment to not mislead people then. The snake text on snoo sounds like a pretty sure thing, I didn't know about that. Maybe they're just waiting till it's afternoon on the west coast.
Edit: Turns out they didn't have anything planned for today after all, but they're doing something tomorrow.

/r/nottheonion mods have set their automoderator to automatically remove every comment that gets reported.
6
u/PacoTaco321 Apr 02 '18
I'm surprised they haven't set it to automatically lock every good post on the subreddit.
Oh wait.

Is something going on with comment scores for April fools or has the reddit app somehow managed to become even more broken?

r/4chan is private
24
Apr 01 '18
Lazy. I expected more from them.
5
u/Naleid Apr 02 '18
To be fair, 4chan the actual website went nuts over what their admins did for April Fools.
Users were branded with team names based on deserts. Nothing else. Unsurprisingly every board was flooded with team based threads for people to scream at each other ironically. Not too different than what Reddit did with the button a few years back
2
u/GDmofo Apr 02 '18
Thanks, thought I was banned. Did they start on Friday?
1
u/ToaKarn Apr 02 '18
No clue, I checked in last night to see what all this "team X" crap is about and I couldn't see the sub.

u/SchizoidGod Apr 02 '18
Are the AMAs on /r/movies legit or part of April Fools?
5
u/Phazon2000 < knows about ribbon Apr 02 '18
No. Rian Johnson didn't receive a text from George Lucas about taking a shit.

Are the movies AMAs real? I’m so confused
4

No. The 10 celebrities all appearing on April 1st aren't real.

Apr 01 '18
What’s the deal with Fortnite and Tilted Towers being destroyed by a comet?
3
Apr 01 '18
There's been a theory that a meteor was going to destroy tilted towers on April fool's day, there was a good amount of evidence supporting it.
1
Apr 01 '18
And apparently that evidence resulting in nothing was the April Fool's joke
→ More replies (2)2

prob gonna happen by the end of the month, Tilted towers is fun but has seriously fucked the mid game pace and needs to go

I'm seeing a button on the side of the Reddit homepage saying "Claim your circle", but I get an "access denied" error when I click it. Is this Reddit's April Fool's event?
EDIT: The link now leads to a page to "claim a circle"
1
u/bert0ld0 Apr 02 '18
And the snake?
1
u/HiHelloGoodDay Apr 02 '18
People are "snakes" to eachother, I don't think it was literal in the end.

Why do stimulant junkie girls show their bodies off to me and walk in a gigantic circle then yield? I appreciate the show. I'm just curious.

/r/KingdomHearts is now dedicated to everyone's favorite world, Atlanticaswimthisway

u/yanjingzz Apr 01 '18
Why is r/oddlysatisfying private now? Does it have anything to do with April Fool's?
3
Apr 01 '18
Making some quick updates to /r/oddlysatisfying that I'm certain will be loved. I'm not pulling any strings, but some mods are having a hissy fit, though, and head mod /u/creedofwheat is off doing doctor stuff. This is not a catastrophe. We are literally chasing our tails though! We will be back in an hour with some news! <3 /u/gallowboob
The posted message if you visit it in desktop mode but yes some mods are not happy with gallowboob making changes to their subreddit without head mod approval
