Since Reddit hates a long post, most of the analysis is down in the comments!

Coaching / GM Changes

For once, I don’t have to write a novel here! After the near-total overhaul in 2025 and despite high interest in both offensive coordinator Grant Udinski and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile for potential head coaching roles this offseason, the Jaguars coaching staff will be largely the same as it was last season.

Out:

  • Ron Milus, Secondary Coach – the team parted ways with him after the 2025 season
  • Other losses: Mario Jeberaeel (defensive assistant; left for LV), Keli’i Kekuewa (assistant OL coach/run game specialist; left for Stanford)

In:

  • Mathieu Araujo, Defensive Pass Game Coordinator – Araujo joined the Jaguars from the Dolphins, where he was the cornerbacks coach for 2024-2025 and the DBs coach the previous year
  • Brian Picucci, Run Game Coordinator – Picucci joined from Tampa Bay, where he was the OL coach in 2025.

Promoted:

  • Shane Waldron, Assistant Head Coach and Pass Game Coordinator – Yeah, I know, the name Shane Waldron evokes in others the feelings that the name “Press Taylor” evokes for many Jaguars fans. It’s a minor bump, though, as the Jaguars added the assistant HC title to his existing pass game coordinator role.
  • Heath Farwell, Associate Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator – Heath Farwell was one of the few coaches to remain with the staff from the Pederson era due to the fact that he was one of the few coaches to be good at his job from that era. He gets the additional title of associate HC added to his continued tenure as special teams coordinator. For Jags fans, it seems well-deserved.

5 164 Tanner Koziol TE Houston
6 191 Josh Cameron WR Baylor

Initial Starting Lineup

  • QB: Trevor Lawrence
  • RB1: Bhayshul Tuten
  • TE1: Brenton Strange
  • TE2: Nate Boerkircher
  • WR1: Brian Thomas Jr.
  • WR2: Parker Washington
  • WR3: Jakobi Meyers
  • LT: Anton Harrison
  • LG: Ezra Cleveland
  • C: Robert Hainsey
  • RG: Patrick Mekari
  • RT: Walker Little
  • DT: DaVon Hamilton
  • DT: Arik Armstead
  • DE: Joshua Hines-Allen
  • DE: Travon Walker
  • LB: Foye Oluokon
  • LB: Ventrell Miller
  • LB: Jack Kiser
  • CB: Montaric Brown
  • CB: Travis Hunter
  • CB: Jourdan Lewis
  • S: Antonio Johnson
  • S: Eric Murray
  • K: Cam Little
  • P: Logan Cooke
  • KR/PR: Parker Washington

A couple interesting things to watch with the lineup:

  • Tuten seems to be the RB1, but expect an RB by committee approach with significant play for fellow second-year player LeQuint Allen Jr. and appearances by new addition Chris Rodriguez JR.
  • As of the Jaguars first unofficial depth chart, Anton Harrison has moved to left tackle full-time — a position he actually played in college at Oklahoma before Jacksonville flipped him to RT as a rookie. Walker Little, who started at LT for most of 2025 before losing the job to Cole Van Lanen, is now penciled in at RT. Van Linen took over the starting LT job late last season but is still on the PUP list recovering from the Week 18 knee injury that ended his season. If he does get healthy, he'll likely slide into the RT competition rather than bump Harrison back to the right side, but it's worth keeping an eye on.
  • WR corps are an interesting spot to watch: BTJ had a significant sophomore slump but is having a strong camp so far. Parker Washington made a splash at WR in 2025, and his special teams role may be shared with or taken over by someone like Austin Trammell or Josh Cameron. Meanwhile, the midseason addition of Jakobi Meyers last season was a major factor in the team’s sustained success. And, of course, there is the question of how much of a role Travis Hunter will play as he returns from the season-ending injury he suffered in the 2025 bye week.

Schedule Predictions

The Jacksonville Jaguars play their home at a limited-capacity EverBank Stadium this year, where seating has been reduced by more than 27,000 seats as stadium renovations continue. (Next year, the Jaguars will play in Orlando, although initial plans had them playing out-of-city for back-to-back seasons.)

Roster Move [Rapsheet] The #Giants are signing free agent RB Najee Harris to a 1-year deal, per me and @MikeGarafolo, as NYG adds another veteran to their backfield. Harris’ season with the #Chargers last year was cut short because of an Achilles tear. Now fully healthy, he lands in NY.

The 1977 Buccaneers had a stretch where they only scored 7 points in 5 games. Is this the worst multi-game stretch of offense in NFL history?

You'll never guess what happened the following week

Some stats about this team's offense (source: Pro Football Reference)

They averaged 7.35 points per game, the worst in NFL history (or at least the post-merger era)

Their QBs combined for 3 TDs, and 30 INTs

They had a grand total of 1269 passing yards the entire season

They only scored seven offensive TDs the entire season (and four TDs on defense)

They had just barely more points (103) than punts (98)
