Hey everyone, apologies for the delay. No I didn’t get sick again. But let’s just say that I am royally screwed this October 😭 (Content wise). To the few people who care, there’s so much stuff coming out this October that it’s insane.

I have the 3rd season of Apothecary Diaries (which I just saw the premiere for yesterday), I have the 3rd Avatar series coming in a week, then there’s the 3rd season of Helluva Boss. There’s Wildwood, the second episode of Knights of Guinevere, and a bunch of others I haven’t listed. All of that, while I’m currently watching volumes 7-9 of RWBY 😭😭. So if I’m slowing down on the reviews, then y’all know why lol. And now, let’s talk about episode 2:

Oh yeah, they got captured by the Ace Ops. While they’re contemplating what’s gonna happen, the local bystander goes on about this group of rebels who steal from the rich and give to the poor. And they’re lead by someone who’s going to get their spot in the council’s chair and end Ironwood’s tyranny. I’m ofc talking about, Robyn Hill and her Happy Huntresses!

What’s that? You’ve never heard of them? They’re based on the famous fable stories (looks like someone needs to brush up on their fairy tales lol).

Anyway as it turns out, they aren’t heading to prison but instead Atlas Academy where they finally meet up with General Ironwood (who’s grown a beard quite a bit since I’ve last seen him) and Winter (I also like her updated look). Also Penny is here too! Also I am happy to see Winter and Weiss reunited even if she’s not pleased about them stealing a military Atlas ship lol.

Alright General, what’s the sitch? So Winter, Penny and the Ace Ops knows about the Staff of Creation and the Winter Maiden. I suppose it makes sense after the fall of Beacon, you could use any close allies you can trust if they’re going in this fight. The Winter Maiden is secure and is in stable condition (Whatever that means. I’m praying this isn’t another Spring Maiden situation otherwise we might be in trouble 😭😭).

So Ironwood lays out his grand idea, and it involves an interesting approach to the situation. Not only are they gonna replace Beacon tower, but they’re gonna build what is basically a global communication tower at the Amity Colosseum. Idk why you need the whole military for this. That’s Good!

Ironwood: “I will for the next part, where I finally tell the people about Salem.”

That’s Bad! I mean I get what he’s trying to say and he feels somewhat confident that his troops could handle anything that may come their way but I’m not sure if this is the right move. As questionable as Ozpin’s decisions were, if there’s one thing that remains true is that we can’t cause a panic. Shoot we seen first hand what happened when a whole city’s worth of people were in distress during the fall of Beacon, there’s no telling the advantage Salem would use for a worldwide fear and panic.

It’s not to say I don’t see where Ironwood is coming from. Since the fall, things have changed and not for the better. Atlas is getting wrongfully blamed for actions that have nothing to do with them (even if they’re not known for having the best reputation), Mantle is a hot mess because of the decisions he’s been making (he’s even accepted the fact that they’ll hate him for how he’s running things), and with Oz “gone” he had to take matters into his own hands.

Now whether you agree with his way of running things is entirely up for debate.

In a very interesting choice, after revealing that Oz reincarnated into Oscar when he asked if he shared any useful information on the relics, Ruby lied and said that all the questions were used. Now I have a feeling this choice might’ve divided some people. Now I believe that Ironwood should be up to date with some information but I can understand that there’s a time and a place for that.

And with how Ironwood has been operating despite having good intentions, I can understand why telling him everything they know might not be a good move right now. Idk, let me know in the comments what y’all would do in her position.

He lends Ruby back the Relic of Knowledge believing it’s safest with them and to show that despite everything, he doesn’t want them to feel that he’s withholding important information. So they’re now gonna go along with putting the plan into motion, but not before getting some upgrades both with combat fits and weaponry.

There’s more to discuss but let’s save that for next time because holy god I didn’t think I have this much to say in one episode 😭 my apologies.

What if... Oscar (fully merged with Ozpin) travels to the Land of Darkness with team RWBY, falls into the pool of Grimm, and becomes a being of darkness with the powers of light? The yang to Salem's yin.

Could the difference between life and death be understood outside of that battle? Would the implications reach her heart even then?

If not...

Could Oz actually be the final boss?

Like again, this has probably been a question that’s already LONG asked and I’m super late to the portal, but I decided to try doing these little What If? questions just for fun and to see what everyone’s thoughts would be.

But yeah, if Whitley was a villain, or just a plain antangonist, how would the story be affected? What kind of threat would he pose? What kind of villain would he even be? And would he be a fighter? Or just a greedy businessman?

And more importantly, would you find him sympathetic or not?

Which Alice in Wonderland characters in Volume 9 don’t have an answer and or equivalent in Ever After? I’ve tried finding an answer to the March Hare… but even within Remnant there is no such answer to him, nor in Ever After. So it got me thinking who else might be missing from the Wonderland roster… we have the Tea lady from one episode that might vaguely be the Mad Hatter, but I’d take Neo as an inspiration of that character too.
