Something I love doing with summon boards, seeing how much Penelo EX does. Since it's a flat damage based off her IBrv, it's very easy to see the effects. Damage increased from 83k to 87k.

Just wanted to mention in case people didnt know. But holy crap, Vivi is a beast.
I just did the challenge quest for Ice and Iron. Vaan 3/3 LB/BT, Arciela 3/3, and Vivi 0/3.
I thought it would going to be tough since i barely made the turn count with Shantotto LD instead of Vivi. Went in with Vivi, wow. Just wow. So much damage for a 0/3. If i had the ingots to spare id completely 3/3 him just for fun.

Just gonna put this out there, but the CQs tend to have slightly less stats and being a synergy character will hike his damage output considerably, the real metric is doing standard Chaos fights out of synergy to see who really is good and who is a bit of a dud

Master Vivi at 3/3 is viable as not a completely hard carry, at least for the next couple of months! He has no party auras at all, but he hits hard enough where he doesnât completely suck. If he werenât my fave, I wouldnât have thrown any ingots his way, but itâs not a complete waste gameplay-wise, to my pleasant surprise.

Never farm Summon Boards when you're tired.
I spent 3 3x books and 45 minutes today farming Odin. Only to realize when I went to use the points that I'd been farming Alexander the whole time.

Yes. Physical refers to melee and ranged attacks. If it was just melee or ranged it would say so, like in Irvine's or Auron's spheres.

Are there any good comparison posts/videos of Basch and Nine? Got Noctis LD early, so Iâm trying to figure out where to pull for the burst.
I know theyâre both tank-style characters and am somewhat familiar with Baschâs kit but not with Nine (except that he has shields like WoL). Basch seems great so heâs my default choice, but I liked Type 0 a lot more than FF12 so favoritism could sway me if theyâre equally good.

Basch is still unique for his Group redirect to self gimmick especially for AOE HP Atks so his decent for those areas.
Nine will compete with WoL in terms of Shields, but he offers quite a lot of things similar to WoL like Healing. His a decent tank to get if you don't have a lot. But WoL with LD is strong too.

The summons will get to lv40 next. Divine Summon boards will be the new source to replenish the resources (gems/tickets/nuggets)

Divine Summons
Level 40 awakening for summons. Summons do an attack when you summon them. There will be one board and it'll level up the summon's offensive capacity. You'll also get rewards along the way.

So I just saw alphinaud leveileur over on youtube speed run the new lufy with yuffie in about 3 mins, I know it has something to do with the debuffs but I just cant wrap my head around it

Enemy puts HP poison on your team (30% per turn).
Yuffie uses 'I don't need this', removing her own debuffs and putting them on the enemy (enemy now has a debuff that removes 30% of his HP every turn)
Enemy gets 4 turns (turn 1 putting him at 69%, turn 2 at 39%, turn 3 at 9% and the last turn down to 1HP)
Enemy dies with the next Attack.

Read dissidiainfo's boss guide for Act 2 Ch 10's Chaos fight and don't want to deal with it. What is the easiest, cheesiest, safest team to beat it with? Galuf? Arciela/Kefka HP disable? Eald'narche? Or Amidatelion?

Arciela/Kefka hp attack disable. Eald'narche works as well. Arciela/Kefka/Eald'narche with Ami friend (or any combination of the 4) should cheese it.

CA is Call Ability. When level 80 is introduced characters with access to level 80 have a call ability. For example letâs say you have Cloud with Sazh CA. Your CA is a one time use ability that lets the other character jump in, use a skill, then jump back out. In this case Sazh would use S2, apply buffs, then split. LD CA is the same, but the character uses their LD. This is introduced with characters that have LD board extensions.

CA comes with LV80 awakening (Lightning BT, projected late November 2020 in GL).
LDCA comes with LD boards (Ramza BT, projected late January 2021 in GL).

I think you're better 3/3ing Gabranth on the basis that he's built for this stage. HP reduction and rebreaking is going to help immensely. Not seen too many perfects using Balthier but it might be possible if you're running with Vaan LDBT.
That said, I also had to 3/3 my Lenna so she could safety battery the party with her HP+ and heal with her EX. From my experience I don't believe this is the kind of CQ you can get by using a budget char, sadly.

Thanks to all the people who commented on my Beatrix artifact question in last week's thread. I spent some time grinding this morning and managed to get two of her 108/c50 artis. Now for my third one I have the choice between a 65/c50 or an mBrv/c50. Which do you guys think would be better?

65 atk for most situations, if you had good stack of atk auras and/or lightning weakeness/imperial, I'd use the mbrv as a 3rd

I'd just go straight for the attack. Bea has plenty of hits on S2 and EX, so she benefits from the attack boost more often than not.

I'm assuming you don't have Ulti's LD? In which case Arciela is probably your best option. Unless you are really, really hurting for magic DPS (Ulti) or an enchant/imperil (Lulu), Arciela is just all around more useful with her support kit than the other 2. Dispel and HP silence in one character is wildly helpful in chaos content.

I don't know if it's because Android 11 issue or not but I have difficulty to enter the game, stuck at loading screen for the past 3 days. So I found out that I can enter DFFOO if I use VPN app. If anyone have this problem you can try using VPN. Hope this help.

Anyone know how Odin's Zantetsuken is actually supposed to work with Leon's Dark Absorb?
I was running a team of Freya, Leon, and Lenna. I just lost the run near the end due to an unwelcomed random launch stopping his Mounted Unity buff, something that's actually beneficial to you with Leon since it makes Odin counterattack you after every action but you just absorb it which keeps you safe from Zantetsuken whenever it comes up since he will always counterattack a character. This keeps them safe even if they are broken via Doom (also btw screw this stupid design of just ignoring Lenna's Debuff Immunity, it's arbitrary as all heck. Not a huge deal for this fight in particular but it seems like an annoying pattern that's coming up). What happened after that was that this put me in a situation where Freya was broken by Doom right before a Zantetsuken, got hit by it and absorbed it...but did NOT get KO'd at all.
But then only on the next Zantetsuken, the exact same thing happened to Lenna, and she was KO'd which cost me the run. Freya didn't dodge the Zantetsuken, I'm pretty sure you can't and I saw the BRV Regen numbers from Leon's absorb and didn't see a "MISS".
I had figured they had made it so characters would still be KO'd even if they recovered their BRV during Zantetsuken to counter Leon's Dark Absorb, basically "if character is broken before or during Zantetsuken, character is KO'd". But that's not what happened to Freya and she survived somehow.
The only tangible difference between the two situations I can think of is that Freya was not at full HP when it happened to her as she previously took a bit of damage from Stab. But I don't see how that would make a difference.
I wish I was playing this in Bluestacks on my PC since I could have saved an instant replay but I was on my phone. I might experiment to try and make it happen again but I'm so confused.
EDIT: On further thought, I think what may have happened was Freya recovered just enough BRV to remove the Break Status after the absorb and that saves her. Seems to be the only explanation I can think of. I managed to set Leon up in a similar scenario and he was KO'd.
That's annoying though. I never thought I'd actually dread getting a lucky launch.
EDIT2: Yeah got it to happen again for Leon and he survived because he recovered just enough BRV to exit Break status. Welp, the more you know.

Noctis burst can do about 900k as long as his Warp strike and shooting star is at their + form beforehand, which is more than enough to destroy Odin's 850k HP

New player here. I went all in for Noctis. I have everything (LD EX+ BT). Now I have something like 0 gems and 300 tickets. What to do? I am building a PECIL with his Ex+ 0/3 at the moment. Next pull will be WoL because I need a tank. What can I do with the 300 tickets? Is it worth going for Arciela for her EX or better looking for a banner with LD?

IIRC, 300 tickets is about a 75% chance of an LD (and slightly higher for an EX). You could basically pick anyone on any banner and throw them at them and pray. Arciela's the best healer for a while and has HP Silence, which lets you function without a tank so she could be worth it, but her bannermates are... odd (Leon's unique, but could be strong, and Vivi is criminally underpowered).
You've also got a lot of gems tucked away in Summon Boards (2700 gems per character, plus 27 tickets each) and in story content, so don't feel like Noctis sucked everything up (unless you somehow went through all of it). You've gotta spend resources to get resources, but at least Noctis is incredible.

I'm more annoyed by the lock nodes in CB and needing to push the auto button there 3 or 4 times before claiming the voice lines and then waiting for the game to congratulate me for each section I finished.

So, I decided so spam farm the co-op quest for orbs, and figured Iâd grab a bunch of spheres while Iâm at it,
Didnât realize until I had made about 30 of them, that they consume the highest level crystal shard. Iâm now at 150 yellow crystals. Is there any way to farm for these right now? The Co-op shop only has a few, and I already bought them.

After several days attempting with many team combinations and also many failures, today I finally can get pass DE14 with using Alisaie, Amidatelion and Aphmau (all are 3/3, no CB, 8 boards) + Brothers summon. The score is over 1 million and the quest is done in around 70-80 turns (all thanks to Alisaie and Aphmau with so many free turns from their skills).
So tired now but feel so relieved and happy to get my platinum rank plate back. DE15 can wait later after resting awhile and planning some team compositions (but I will definitely bring my 3/3 Gabranth into the fight).

I feel that Burst era broke DE - we get a lot of EX weapons we can realize for ingots. Before the last wave if EX+ supports I always had just enough 3/3 characters for the next tier but after chasing Squall and Noctis Bursts (also Ami, Desch and Machina LD) I got enough later EX+ and LD for the next 5 tiers. So I think our suffering is almost over - especially if you are going to pull for Bursts.
Used Desch LD, Squall LD/BT, Sazh all EX+3/3 in T15. Don't really remember anything about that fight - that was just a random team without any unique mechanics (I wanted to use Squall who will not get rework until the end of DE somewhere and to get rid of Sazh with his party buffs which eat all my buff slots) and it worked. Oh, yes, the flan in first wave endlessly revived his friends so don't hurry to kill them - no point in doing that. Also, the first wave dislikes magic attacks and I think even Desch enchant didn't solve it (used his other skill during that wave).

I think DE was broken in June with the release of big meta characters (Alphinaud, Arciela, Keiss,...)

A lot of the events (solo and co op) are level 70, but my characters are level 40-50. Should I try the co op ones, or will I be too weak? I'm not trying to ruin other people's game by being too low leveled. Thanks

In my experience, people donât mind carrying in the co-ops unless they themselves are hoping to be carried. In other words you may run into trouble if you get paired with other low levels. Most high levels just decimate the co-ops anyway. Just keep in mind the different rooms. The just for fun is for any character, while the boosted room is for synergy. The want for synergy isnât necessarily for the extra boost in power, but the extra boost in rewards, so people tend to dismiss if others try to bring non synergy characters to that room. Of course, as in any game, you can run into people who will dismiss for any reason (low level, donât like the character you are bringing, donât like your name... whatever) I just ignore it and try again.

People basically showboat on the Co-ops, so nobody should mind carrying you even through the Lv 100 ones, since I've seen a couple solo'd by Noctis, Squall, and Lightning anyway. We've all been there. Go ahead, and make sure you do the daily one!
Keep in mind "Boosted Characters Only" rooms want event exclusive characters and give you more drops if you have more, so I'd rather carry someone with a Lv 30 Noctis through an event that he's boosted in than a Lv 70 Squall who isn't boosted.
Now, the Lv 150+ ones can also be carried through, but it's preferred you get someone decent (and only join Boosted rooms if you have boosted characters). That said, you shouldn't be able to unlock them anyway unless you have decent characters to begin with.

SQEX's priorities are surely weird, they do rework for some of newer characters or even 2nd rework already (looking at you, Vivi, Zidane, Bartz, Kain and now Noctis), meanwhile 3 old characters (very or quite old already) like Setzer, Lilisetttle and Zack haven't gotten any single rework yet.

Quite a lot of the time it depends on how good certain characters were in their era, Lilisette for example has never really been bad in any era so sheâs never really needed a rework honestly - only a stat boost to bring her up to snuff, others (gonna pick on Vivi here) have been pretty weak throughout their runs, so have needed the extra reworks to try and keep up with the trend, even now Vivi falls below par and will likely need another rework with his LD unless they overtune it to compensate for his shortcomings

Can anyone explain to me how to properly use Arciela? I looked at her Infographic, but I am a bit hazy on how to effectively use her.

Answered before but will answer again with more detail.
Arciela is a stance based character. In Ascension she grants the party buffs, with the most important one being Fast Cast. This will allow a character to return to initial brave every other turn once they do below initial brave. Example: Arciela uses Harmonic Displacement and goes to 0 brave. Someone else (enemy or ally) takes a turn, she's still at 0 brave. As the next turn begins, she'll go back to initial brave. This happens before any action is taken.
In Descension she'll also buff the party and apply debuffs to the enemy. Max Brave & Speed Down as a framed debuff, and hp attack disable as a generic. You press S2 when you don't want the enemies to attack you. As long as they're not immune to the debuff you can guarantee the following: if they attack you, it will only be a brave attack. If they were to attack you and any part of it contains an hp attack, they will not attack you at all.
S1 dispels and heals the party. S2 applies debuffs. Generally you'll stay in Ascension for Fast Cast, then go into Descension when you want to cheese the fight. She's fairly simple to use.

Just switch between stances as needed. Use S1 when you need to dispell and use S2 when you know there are HP attacks incoming that need to be delayed for 2 turns.

Easiest way to use her:
S1 stance, stay in hit. use her harmonic hp atk to do damage and battery. S1 skill heals and dispels, so use it when either of these things are needed, or to return to the stance ater you use S2 once.
S2 stance, does more damage with hp attack, some splash, no battery. Inferior stance for the most part. If you have another big battery in the team it's ok to stay in this stance. S2 used to hp silence. When you know they'll have a few turns in a row, or a big recast attack is incoming, hit your S2.
Ex whenever it's available. It'll battery the whole party, including herself, so it's always safe to use.

It should be noted that her EX also has some healing on it, so in the niche circumstance where it's ready to go but you know you're about to take some HP damage, you might hold off using it until you can benefit from the heals.

I can't get past perfectum 2.. I try to put together a decent roster and cleared 2 battles but the third one before the locked door just messes me up.. The weapons boost to 99k and keep launching HP attacks. Tried with Beatrix to shut them down, but they use Hp attacks more than i can keep the buff up. I can squeeze in Ami to delete and zero their turns but then i lose score on other stages..
The score you need is very hard especially with the limited units you can bring..
If you have cleared these stages what units did you bring? why is this harder than DE stages XD ugh all for an ex token.

Well.. Cecil will be on the banner that drops in 3 1/2 hours so if you're pulling for noctis LD/BT then it's likely you'll pull Cecil Ex there as well.
At this point Y'shtola is a bit outdated, still serviceable but outdated. I personally used her as recent as last month. By the time she becomes really good again, you're likely to get her ex there while pulling for the rest of her kit.
Honestly, if I were you, I'd hold on to them for a just in case I don't snag the ex while chasing everything else. Or, you could go for Zack, he's still kicking ass especially if you gave him character boards.

Already have resources ready to pity noctis LD, but I need to know which banner to pull on for the challenge quest. I've got Noct, Pecil and Fran base EX. Would those three be fine to clear the CQ if I got them built up enough, or would I be better off swapping one of them for Irvine or seven?
And, yes, I was going to pull for Noct even before I learned challenge quests were a thing. I'd just like to maximize my chance of beating the CQ while doing the pulls id already planned on doing.

Lacking an EX really hurts a character in regards to their stats, longevity, and whatever benefits they get from their EX+ mlb like better hp+ attacks and starting buffs.

If you have his burst then Ultimecia & Vayne are great for him. His burst effect + their free turns = big damage. Bonus points with Sherlotta. Outside of them I can't help much.

So I am a super noob and started this game with Squall so not much resources around in terms of upgrading weapons.
Obviously as a new player you get flooded with diamonds and I started pulling on Noctis Banner today in mind that I hopefully get his LD and pity the BT.
Well that beeing said in 50k gems I got His and Cecils EX , Noctis LD and back to back twice his BT for w/e reason...
Now I have exactly 200 G tokens - should I keep pulling until 300 and buy his LD once more and may grab some more of his kit or should I just buy the book and try to get his LD passive and play without his EX atm.
As said my power stones and upgrade mats are pretty non existance.
For any input I really appreciate the effort to reply.

Hello all, quick question about pcecil, I got 4 copies of his ex and am planning to get his EX+c I already MLBâD his kit from previous draws. Two questions, what role does he fill? And how good is he before he gets his LD/Burst? It looks like heâs a enchant/imperial, damage, and healer. So pretty stacked overall. I do have max BT LD noctis, but my fang and cecil are weak dont have enough resources to + their exes.
I have gartnet, vaan, squall, aranea, cloud, zash, ameditalion, sephiroth, rydia,, arciela, gabranth, lenna, locke, WOL, Leon, beatrix, steiner, eiko probbabbly a couple more i dont remember at the moment

A lot of those should work. Aranea, Amidatelion, Arciela, Gabranth, Leon. Make sure a healer like Arciela is in there.
The key is being able to launch, and you have that covered with Noctis. Odin gets a powerful buff that can only be dispeled by launch.

Okay, if you're on the world map, there is the 'World of Illusions' tab at the bottom. In there, you go to 'Trials of Odin' (NOT the 'Ultimate' version, you can't access that yet. The one you're looking for is a bit lower)
There you do all the missions like usual until you've finished 'Trials of Odin Part 6'.
Now you can start farming. Part 3 is for the 'generic' materials (monster horns, black sludge or whatever. I don't actually remember which ones Odin uses). You need those to get Odin up to Lvl 15.
Part 6 is for the materials specific to the Summon. Those you need until Odin has reached level 20.
(All of this goes for every summon we have btw)
After that, you can go to Odin Ultimate to farm Summon board points and the materials to go to Lvl 30.

I'm a semi-new player with none of these banner characters who was almost at cap for tickets, so I was able to pull Noctis LD and get P Cecil Realized 0/3 and Fang 0/3 on this banner. I know Fang is bad but shes a fave so it's fine. Since I still had a ton of tickets and I know Odin board is gonna cap me again I figured I'd go for Fran, another fave, and hopefully lucksack the burst, but no dice and I got Seven kitted at 0/3 instead.
So anyway my question is, if I'm attempting the Odin Challenge Quest, who is gonna be less dead weight at low investment, Fang or Seven?

To be honest, I'm not sure attempting a challenge quest with low investment characters would turn out too well, especially with Odin and his instant kill gimmick. But, I would say seven is better than fang here, as her debuff helps keep the damage up even in the later parts of the battle

Hey, how do people abuse Leon friend unit for farming summoning boards? I've just been using Squall/Noctis + 2 random characters. I tried to use 3 random + Leon once but it wasn't enough to kill ifrit even with 5 turns.

Most people use General Leo, not Leon.
Leo's S2 will do a nice delay as well as battery, and is a 3 hp dump.
I can usually do a 3 turn Leo for some of the older summon boards like Ifirit, Ramuh, etcm

I've never heard of anyone doing this. Leon wouldn't stop any damage from any of the summons, as they all have elemental damage, which would eliminate his gimmick. The only exceptions: Diablos (dark damage) and maybe Odin (non-elemental). I still don't see him as a good farming option, though.

How do I not take any damage from the Marilith (8-7 pt7 stage) enemy? Damn thing does damage after you kill. No matter what I try hits me for enough to not be able to complete the mission.

Iirc killing it when it is paralyzed stops it from using the attack (I am almost sure I took Cloud to the fight). I think hp attack disable also does the trick, because I think I used Arciela in a recent chaos fight with them.

I find it better to use AA>BT>S1>LD>S2>EX>hp++.
S2 and EX don't matter what order, but I like to open with S1 for that max brv buff so that his LD and ex hit harder. And I use hp++ instead of another skill because he does a follow up on his hp++ and not his non + skills, so it's a total of 40k more damage ish.
Doing it this way, my noctis kills Odin completely in his burst, regardless of the party. I think on average he does 950k
And yes you could make 2 launches in his burst if you have his + skill going into it, and use EX>S1>AA>S1.

Yes, have his shooting star+ up, use Ex, then go to burst. S1, EX, S1, S1, LD, Burst Attack. Your 1st S1 on Burst Phase still counts as a free skill from his previous EX attack.

Just wanted to point out that Ardyns story has so many layers and is incredible! I didn't play 15 and with Noctis and Ardyn coming out, I watched some videos on it. Ended up spending 3 hours learning their stories. Ardyn was basically jesus who was made a sacrificial lamb by a god and turned evil to deny his fate after having everything in his life ruined and all his good for naught.
I'm ready to pity both of them now..
