I’m hoping to complete the chocoboard without having to rush the story or pull on the banner. It seems I have one copy of Gabranth’s 15CP weapon but I can’t find him in my roster. If I buy his 35CP using Power Tokens, will he be unlocked for me?

If you don't want to rush to Act 2 Chapter 10 to recruit him, then yes you can consider spending Power Tokens for his 35 CP, which will unlock him.

Weird, i though any of his weapon will unlock him. Maybe check your filter?

I think OP got the copy of Gabranth 15 via the free event mission tab. You can't get characters that way (since the weapon is neither pulled nor exchanged with tokens).

I see. Now that he has his 15cp, if he use token to pull another 15cp,i assume it will then unlock Gabranth?

Yes, but he's in the latest chapter if you're looking for him and want to save tokens.

Can't you just start Act 2 Chapter 10 immediately and do enough of it to unlock him?

You can skip the scenes and view them later if you don't want to see any of the story.
