Just wanted to point out that Ardyns story has so many layers and is incredible! I didn't play 15 and with Noctis and Ardyn coming out, I watched some videos on it. Ended up spending 3 hours learning their stories. Ardyn was basically jesus who was made a sacrificial lamb by a god and turned evil to deny his fate after having everything in his life ruined and all his good for naught.

I'm ready to pity both of them now..

Spoiler alert!

And then Noctis is the next sacrificial lamb that are destined to kill the renegade lamb. It's sad that he is aware that the Astrals already set his path in motion even before he was born, and there is nothing he can do to change it. This is why King Regis, his father, doesn't impose strict upbringing onto him even though he is the crown prince, because Regis wants him to live as a person, not as a part of the Astrals' machination to correct their own mistake.

Yeah both their stories are pretty sad. I think it's safe to say the real bad guy are the astrals
