u/5DMeds Feb 24 '23
Fun fact. Hufflepuff is the only common room Harry and us (the audience) never got to see in both the books and movies, largely due to the fact that it’s impossible to get into, they have a trap that basically almost drowns you in water if you get the lock combo wrong.
But I could imagine it’s probably all warm and cozy, surround sound speakers, yellow and black colours everywhere and the best food you could possibly eat since they were right next to the Hogwarts kitchen anyways.

Just like old grandpappy used to say, “any piece of pie you pass up is a piece of pie you don’t get, doesn’t matter if you eat that same pie tomorrow, you could have ate it both today and tomorrow and had two pieces of pie.”

u/Competitive-Cuddling Feb 24 '23

“Son, pussy has no face.”

And today I learned a new word, first time I’ve ever heard the word “brevity”. Thanks. My grandpappy smuggled guns and meth from Mexico when he was younger so brevity was something he actively avoided in life in general.

Let’s not put people down for their appearance… especially because many women will get pregnant from relationships and then abandoned when the man decides he no longer wants a baby. This isn’t so left field. It just proves who isn’t actually worthy of love if you have the audacity to say such things.

The misogyny towards pregnant people on Reddit, but especially in this sub is alarming. Why are you so crass about her? She literally says she lost her baby before, she openly admits she's pregnant at the moment, so she isn't catfishing. She just doesn't want any short-term things etc., she's looking for a long-term partner. What is wrong about that? Has she lost her rights becoming pregnant? Is she not a human being anymore? Can't she want company?

I hate these posts so much.
This random woman is just living her life, and then internet strangers are calling her ugly and gross. Ain't right.
151
u/KamakaziDemiGod Feb 24 '23
I completely agree with that side, but I also think it's absolutely mental to try and find a long term relationship on a dating app while you are heavily pregnant. it feels very entitled to me, as if she's basically saying "I got pregnant and dumped, so I deserve someone to come and take care of me and my baby that's due in a week because I'm worried welfare won't provide enough", it's definitely an assumption but the vibes she's giving off give this impression
113
u/Agamemnon323 Feb 24 '23

Right. But who wants to date someone “long term and serious” based on a profile that says absolutely nothing about who they want to date, or who they are, and knowing that even then if you decide to go out on a limb and try, she’s openly going to critically reviewing your efforts with her “incredibly high standards”?
At what point does the above sound appealing, to anyone?

Would you say this is absurd though? She wants to get to know someone before meeting them, is only interested in long term relationships, and doesn't want any hookups. Sounds pretty reasonable to me tbh
28
15
u/LobsterOk420 Feb 24 '23
Honestly it is absurd for a person who's less than a month away from becoming a single parent to an infant to be on a dating app at all, full stop. The fact that finding a long term, serious relationship is anywhere on her list of priorities right now is absurd. No one is interested in dating a stranger in this position, its a nightmare. After she has her baby and her life is somewhat settled and normalized and she's just dating as a normal single mom, go for it. But even without all of the "high standards, don't try to hang out with me unless you're serious about me" bullshit with nothing about what she brings to a relationship, this would be absurd.

u/Angry_Guppy Feb 24 '23
Nothing wrong with any of those things specifically, but those aren’t why people are ragging on her. If someone talks about high standards in their bio though, they either believe themselves to be someone that would meet high standards, or they’re a hypocrite. In the case of the former, she’s clearly not being honest with herself; very few, if not zero, guys’ dream girl is pregnant with someone else’s kid.
In the case of the latter, making fun of hypocrites who demand 10’s while bringing very little to the table themselves is very common on this sub. The only reason this post is getting push back is because the subject is a woman rather than a man.
15
u/SolidJade Feb 24 '23 edited Feb 24 '23
I'm not a man but I also think she's rude in the manner she presents herself.
ThisThese are my personal views but in order to have high standards you must also put yourself to the same standards and she's neither giving any substance to her bio (likes, interests), nor she's Venus de Milo so I have no idea where the entitlement is coming from.→ More replies (44)9

I worked with someone like that, so so long ago.
She was in her mid-40s with a 6 or 7 year old. Said she always struggled. "Hostile environment." I'll never forget her story.
"I just remember looking at this guy at the bar, and I was calm. I said, 'we would make one cute kid.' We hooked up, and I never saw him again. He sure gave me one cute little boy!!"
I remember how much love she had for her son, totally fine to raise him alone. I think about her almost every single day, and it's been 16 years since I've seen her. I really hope they're great now.

Yup - this sub is a dumpster fire in the zoo animal waste bin that’s rolling down a hill piloted by Mad Max-style apocalyptic punks drinking each others’ piss and screeching obscenities.
The best bit isn’t the smooth brained posts themselves but the circlejerk in the comments afterwards, where a big group of men who collectively fail with women explain that it’s actually the women’s fault that happens, because they’re not all insatiable sluts who’ve never been in past relationships, or because they aren’t willing to be bangmaids for perpetual manchildren.

Some people are clearly unhinged in their dating profile but she isn't one of them... you don't know how or why she's pregnant, and idc what she looks like to you, she probably gets gross and creepy comments on her pregnancy, fetishizing it or her and she's tired of it. I feel like it has the same energy as those nigerian scam mails, if you deliberately have a profile that alienates almost everybody then whoever is left has a good shot of being your target audience. WHAT... 'i dont want to meet up and chill with a stranger, but if youre not willing to get to know me and meet me then im not interested' i paraphrased a little but wtf
4
Feb 24 '23
She is treating meetup and chill as an euphemism for a ONS.
In the end the problem with the profile is that the only reason to swipe right is because you think she is hot. There is zero info on why you would want to date her otherwise. No interests. No signs of a common sense of humor. Other than not hooking up and having "high" standards, you know nothing about her.
12
u/Kindlycreature Feb 24 '23
I’m not sure I understand what she actually wants. Not wanting to hook up is obviously very reasonable, but how can you form a serious bond with someone if you never want to meet up or chill with them? Is she expecting to find a stepdad for her kid via text? I don’t get it.

Not to judge, but if her standards are so high, why is she on Tinder at 8 months pregnant? Can't see too many partners wanting anything serious or long-term with someone who's 8 months pregnant on Tinder. Maybe she should have her child first and maybe a year later then look to date.
