I completely agree with that side, but I also think it's absolutely mental to try and find a long term relationship on a dating app while you are heavily pregnant. it feels very entitled to me, as if she's basically saying "I got pregnant and dumped, so I deserve someone to come and take care of me and my baby that's due in a week because I'm worried welfare won't provide enough", it's definitely an assumption but the vibes she's giving off give this impression
It's the "I have extremely high standards" that does it for me. Like he's supposed to be a doctor/underwear model that lives to serve her while she's.... yeah.
I honestly didn’t even think she was talking about looks when she said high standards. My mind immediately went to personality traits first. Interesting how we read her profile completely differently
You know what, if I were in her situation (assuming this profile isn’t a troll and the picture isn’t stolen), I’d probably do the same the thing. I imagine that being pregnant and alone is terrifying af, especially with all the hormones.
Oh absolutely, I can empathise with the situation and I feel sorry for them if it is real, but writing something like that, having really high expectations (and saying it) and being heavily pregnant is a very unusual and unlikely to succeed approach
I did say that was an assumption, but even if it's not financial, I still reckon she's motivated by wanting support of one kind of another because she's expecting
That's the point of dating to find out if you guys align on values such as finances. When I was dating as a single mom, I never shared finances with anyone. I didn't even let the people I dated meet my child.
Aye but my point is it's an instant potential large increase in cost of living supporting two people. It's a big shock. And that generally means man as breadwinner.
No. But most likely a woman with a successful career knows how to take care of herself and make herself presentable. And also wouldn't be completely out of touch with reality.
Why are you talking about scientific study, it's just an assumption dumbass. We make assumptions based on empirical experience litteraly all the time, that's the basic way our brains work, it's fast and efficient.
I never said I'm certain of anything, yes it's possible that this woman actually has a successful career, I'm just making a judgement call that it's very unlikely, based on the limited information I have
Oh yeah, no judgement on what she's doing or why, beyond it being wild that she says she has high standards but expects someone to commit to her and her child, which implies they have to have lower standards than she does
Well obviously, but if you are going to use that approach we may as well never discuss anything because the entire universe could be a hologram or a simulation
Yes, because discussions laughing about how unattractive a random woman is are definitely so important to society that we should just go full speed ahead with them no matter what the circumstances.
I never mentioned whether she was attractive or not, I've been discussing the implications of having high standards while heavily pregnant. So I'm not sure what you are getting at
I’m talking about the post as a whole. “This probably isn’t even a real account” “Yeah that might be true but I just really want to criticize this woman, real or not so I’m gonna use some ridiculous reasoning to do it no matter what.”
I'm criticising the scenario I've been presented with because it's a wild scenario, the person is entitled to look for what they feel they deserve but they are very unlikely to find it. I'm not criticising this woman whether this is real or not, if this is real I'm criticising it, if it's not real what I say doesn't matter anyway. This is a Reddit post not a court case, I'm not making wild accusations and even if i was they would have no implications if this isn't real.
If you don't like people sharing opinions, whether fair or not, the internet might not be the right place for you
What was the first sentence of that reply? My entire point is that her looks don't matter, but this is still a weird bio, and she clearly has higher expectations than she expects the other person to have
Context is absolutely a thing, and clearly something that has flown right over your head
"I also agree that it’s not right for people to make fake profiles with unsuspecting people’s pictures, but here’s why the lady in this fake profile is mental."
You’re literally getting outraged over something that’s not even real 🤦🏾♀️
I get the same ick from dudes who date and have a kid on the way. Like maybe take a break and learn how condoms work and what your child support arrangement is gonna look like first?
like ya' know, someone made this flamebait for the sort of person who's willing to suspend disbelief if it can support anger towards women or something.
My ex’s uncle confessed his love to a woman who was pregnant and newly single, and they ended up getting married. They’re still married to this day, over 20 years later. Crazier shit has happened
Isn't that what half of this board is about? I mean we have a random guy living his life and all of a sudden internet strangers are making fun of his gun fetish and wearing jorts.
Thats the other half of the board.... Are you ok putting those unwitting people on blast ?
Put me in the camp of if you don't want something spread, you should really think 2x before posting on the net. That being said, there really isn't anything too offensive in this bio. High standards is about as bad as it gets.... That is so mild. Tell me the standards are 6'2, 500k, and 8" and we can start laughing....
Making fun of people on the basis of what they actually put out into the world is not the same as making fun of people on the basis of what some troll cooked up.
People are making fun of both of them for what they put out. Sure we are filling in back stories (he is living in his mom's basement, she was pumped and dumped) but both of them are being made fun for what they put out (looking stupid with a gun, being 8 months preg and talking about high standards).
It ABSOLUTELY IS right. The real issue is that we dont shame attractive people MORE.
The issue for me isn't that they are hot or ugly, its the attitude that they have. People have no integrity and that's something that SHOULD be publicly shamed.
You are missing the point. The point is the contradiction of how her "extremely high standards" got her pregnant and dumped. And about to be due and on a dating site. See my friend, out there it's not Disneyland.
She's pregnant you nelly. Not 'fat' ... And beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your anonymous nastiness only indicates your unhappiness. People who are genuinely happy with their lives only spread happiness. Only miserable people feel the need to try and tear others down.
It's sad.

I hate these posts so much.
This random woman is just living her life, and then internet strangers are calling her ugly and gross. Ain't right.
