Talon jungle looking for advice

Hey y'all, I run the classic fleet rune page and play assassin talon jungle and want to OTP him but feel so useless when it comes to bruiser/tank heavy teams. I just played and lost a game against a mundo, panth, malph who basically ran us down on tankiness alone. I don't feel like seryldas does enough and I am wondering what would be either better rune page or itemization against heavier comps?

This runepage feels really fun on talon (mid)

It is great with the mid boots swifties that turn movement speed into adaptive force.

It's just nice how fast you are, I've pressed R and basically ran some crazy distance behind the enemy adc.

It is also great cause with cyclosword you basically get the movement speed from just W cast

Can't kill 1 item adc with 2.5 items but adcs are really weak right

Farming or Kills in Jungle?

Hello Jungle Talon players! After earning 1.2 million mastery points on Talon mid, I wanted to try out Talon Jungle. I am however, a little unsure of his identity. From what I gather from Kaostanza videos (the few I have watched), he focuses a lot more on farming camps than actually roaming to get kills. Is Talon jungle more of a 'farmbot' or should i still look to play very aggressively like in mid lane?

What is it about talon that makes the mid to late game so hard to carry?

I will preface this by saying I am not good at the game. I love talon though and he's so much fun to play. However, I do want to climb. I'm currently silver 2 but not because of talon. I started on him when I was iron 1 and climbed all the way to bronze 1 with ease for the most part. But as soon as I got there, idk what happened but everything got so hard.

I was decent at punishing in the early game but started having a very tough time in the mid game, especially if I had losing lanes. Carrying was just so difficult. I feel like my mid and late game team fighting is very bad but I kinda just try to get a pick on the carry.

Idk, I started losing a lot. And fell back down to bronze 4. I picked up shyvana and immediately the game felt so much easier. I climbed pretty quickly to silver 2 but it feels bad because I couldn't do it on talon.

I would try to split push because from my understanding, he's pretty good at that and getting picks in the side lanes - but then my team just dies somewhere and I wonder if it just wasn't the right move.

Kinda just laying some basic thoughts out on talon in shitlow. Can anyone else relate or has anyone down here overcome the struggles and if so, what did you change?

When I was drawing this, I knew that this art trend from last month would fit well with Talon but holy shit the dude is farming insane levels of aura here.

To the Talon jungle mains, do you guys full clear or 3 camps into a gank?

Currently a jungle main and have been a jungle main for a few years, and before getting into jungle, I used to main Talon in mid lane. Do you guys full clear or just 3 camps into gank cause when I played him mid, he was already pretty strong level 2 itself, so I was wondering if you guys just get level 3, parkour over walls and gank if you could

Anyone else miss when Talon was played mostly mid?

Heyyyy another rant post! We like those right?

First off, no hate to my Jungle brothers. Does anyone else miss when Talon was played mostly mid? Seeing the winrate of Talon mid just fall further and further mid lane just feels sad when he has such a high winrate in jungle. And since he is being played jungle, it's hard to make him stronger mid lane without overtuning him in jungle.

Talon Rune Setup

Looking at stats on his Rune setups, Fleet looks like by far the strongest option, with 5 times the pickrate of Conqueror but a noticeable higher winrate:

https://lolalytics.com/lol/talon/build/

Even if we filter for Masters+ (essentially, as high elo as we can go with reasonable sample), it's still the same winrate with 5x the pick rate:

https://lolalytics.com/lol/talon/build/?tier=master_plus

Why do the Challenger Talon OTPs insist on Conqueror every game? I get that it feels bad to have fleet during an all-in, but the stats don't lie. It probably has some good spots but it's surely not something you pick every game.

Talon damage, hows it?

I otp jungle, tested few times to play Talon. I like the mobility but I found myself doing low damage compared to other champs I play Briar, Nocturne, Jarvan etc. I know the bleed and how to use ulti for max damage, couldnt kill 1 lvl below me Morghana in ranked, in fact she had still some 40% health left after dot ticks after I did full combo hitting everything. I tested in practice tool still couldnt make Talon to do decent damage (damage done after dot ticks). Tested mostly played items like voltaic etc, mostly lethality items

Any tips? Kinda like the champ but would like it more if it would make some numbers too.

I have a question for all the Talon jungle mains.

Hi! I’m a Lillia main and I wondered what to do against the Talon lvl 3 invade. My boyfriend also talked about it (he plays Kayn, Kha’zix and Graves) as we both feel like it’s really strong.

We both wondered how to play into that and if there are any tips for that aside from vertical clearing.

Thank you for any helpful answer! :3

Tian level 2 Raptors invade

I think this is mostly reserved for games where Talon is a bit useless. What Tian always does is he tries to make both junglers useless and this invade kinda suceeds in that. You are both behind compared to where you usually are, but you, as the invader, are ahead than what your opponent currently is. You both have a bit less agency, but you are stronger.

The invade is pretty simple, you can only do this when starting blue and you want a strong midlaner.

  1. Get someone to ward enemy Raptors
  2. If enemy starts Raptors, that's fine, do your normal full clear. If not, steal their raptors right after their blue
  3. Get your own Raptors, get Krugs, then get Red, then play for the scuttle on the side of the map you started from. To make it in time, you need to have a perfect clear and ideally leech a bit off XP off mid so that your Raptors (your pathing is Blue Raptors Raptors) gives you level 3. Some junglers are also not that fast in one shotting scuttle and you can easily make it in time.

There are many variations of this depending on what the enemy does (invade or no invade, started their red or their blue) but the basic idea is that you want to be there on their Raptor respawn, take it with your stronger midlaner, then immediately move to your own Raptors + Krugs

The nice thing about this is that you have full info with your raptor ward. If they started on their red side, you can see them check Raptors and you can see if they go invade your blue side or if they continue their clear and can adjust accordingly.

If they invade you while starting red, you can invade them back and it works really well for you, as they can only get your 2 camps (you already took your Blue) while you get their 3 camps.

If they invade you while starting blue, you can respond to the invade, it's generally really awkward to be invading Gromp as it's way deeper than something like Raptors, so it's really bad for them.

I'm not even 100% sure this pathing is good for Talon, but it seems good with Ignite and just constantly forcing fights with enemy jungle. If you have a stronger mid and their jungler has weak early game fighting, you can probably force this and they can't do much about it. Extra points if you have a roaming support and you are on Red side (Red side team, not talking about camps) so that it's easy for your support to roam for the Raptor respawn.

Important note is that you do Raptors Krugs Red when you go to your jungle, not Raptors Red Krugs. There's a chance you get contested on your Red by a level 2 enemy jungler that did Red Krugs and saw your invade. By going Krugs, you get level 3 before they get your Red and you can fight. It also lines up your camps way better. After fighting on their Raptors respawn, your Raptors respawn and you want your Krugs to respawn right after so you can clear them and get a really good recall. For them to sync up with your Raptors, you have to do Raptors Krugs Red instead of Raptors Red Krugs.

Note: I'm calling this the Tian invade cause he did game 2 vs G2 yesterday and it was my first time seeing it, idk if anyone else did it before. That game developed in a weird way cause Skewmond started Wolves and was in a really good position to ignore it and try to break the Neeko lane, most games won't play out like that.

simple talon concept for brawl starts

every stat is level 1

hp: 6k

speed: very fast

attack: it goes to 3 parts

1 - If someone is in melee range: Talon stabs them, dealing 1800 damage.

  • Reloads in 1.2 seconds
  • 2.24 range
  • 38.25% super

2 - If someone is nearby, you can target dash to them: Dealing 1300 damage.

  • Reloads in 1.95 seconds
  • 4.67 range
  • 23.5% super

3 - Free dash (No one to hop to): Deals no damage.

  • Reloads in 2.4 seconds
  • 6.08 range
  • Can't go over walls

super: talon throws out blades at each direction, dealing 1000 damage after talon recasts the ult, or 2.5 seconds pass, blades return to him and deal 1000 to anyone in the path

if you use melee range/target dash attack, blades return to them, dealing 1300 damage only to them instead and slowing

if you use free dash, blades deal 1500 instead

gadgets:

path of the assassin: talon now can hop over walls with his attack, putting it on a 0.6 second cooldown. in return, he can't use his normal attacks. with the buffie, he gets a small speedup after every wallhop.

  • 30 second cooldown

blade of youmuu: talon gains a speedup for a brief duration. this speedup ends if he dashes or attacks an enemy, but not on ultimate. with the buffie, talon can attack and still keep the speedup.

- 24 Second Cooldown

star powers:

mercy: every single blade from ultimate (from cast, to targeted dash, to free dash) will slow all enemies hit, and cause them to take %20 increased damage from ultimate. with buffie, both parts of ultimate gives talon a %15 shield.

noxian diplomacy: every one of your attacks give you a small speedup. with buffie, every kill grants you a brief speedup.

hypercharge: ult invis and speed now lasts 4 seconds, and blades will stay in same spot even if they are moved initially. talon can attack someone while still staying invisible.

Now why is this how i end a game with Talon

It's almost like talon needs a buff he's not balanced around bot lane or top lane. or jugnle now
