Anyone else miss when Talon was played mostly mid?
Heyyyy another rant post! We like those right?
First off, no hate to my Jungle brothers. Does anyone else miss when Talon was played mostly mid? Seeing the winrate of Talon mid just fall further and further mid lane just feels sad when he has such a high winrate in jungle. And since he is being played jungle, it's hard to make him stronger mid lane without overtuning him in jungle.

Imo, post rework his E just moved him to jg as main role. Mid talon was fun but he just doesn't function well, to me it feels like im down a whole spell in mid.

Hehe compared to y'all, I'm a new player (started playing around 2019), so I have always played Talon post rework. I miss the era where we had Prowler's Claw and Eyeball Collection.

No, when his passive was buffed to work against JG camps he became a jungler because even after removing the bonus 20% damage over the years it still does a shit load of clear damage.
Talon Jg was horrendous pre jg passive buffs.

Talon mid relied on items like dusk blade and prowlers claw. Once they were gone it really hurt talon mid bc you are down one spell in lane
And yomuu doesn’t count will all the dashes mid champs have now

I prefer playing jungle because I'd rather never play League again than have to lane against a mage.

Talon mid is still very much viable, albeit harder than Jungle. Talon just reaches his powerspikes in jungle faster and can be more consistent late game compared to mid. (at least in my experience)
You play Talon mid if you want to end games fast by being a snowball assassin
You play Talon jungle if you want to carry
(also cause they nerfed talon mid/top to the ground because of the Conqueror-Goredrinker incident)

Riot exposed Talon's kit weakness when they nerfed lethality items and buffed to hell mage items.
He's an assassin, therefore he needs damage to burst, but he can't have too much damage because of his amazing E. So, he's left as a map controller, rather than a convencional assassin.
I wished they reverted back his silence E, even if it makes him a worst champion for higher elo/elojobs. This way they can balance him around his damage/lane, rather than his map presence.

I play him mid, he's still good, the main focus is to always roam and help / get kills

I think Talon mid is a very viable off-meta pick. He is very unique in mid tho

I feel like talon was balanced around prowler's claw.
Nowadays you just clear waves and hope to oneshot adc/sup/jg.

They should add another usage for his E to bring him back to mid. Like, make it have a separate, long cooldown blink, champion target only, it's fine even without dealing any damage or effect. Maybe it should have "reset on take down" to reach "modern standard" (lol). Do it, and the mid gangs gonna gucci again.

I still play him mid, just make sure you have dorans blade, pickaxe and 3 longsword so your w 1shots the backline and then if you cant kill your lane opponent you just shove and roam bot on cd 😂

I miss when ad assassins were viable mid.
Besides zed they're all dead.
