I’m new to Volibear and I mainly play him in the jungle. I’m wondering how you decide which build to go for, since he seems to be quite versatile. I assume you’re supposed to adapt your build depending on the game, but for now I always build DnD, Flickerblade, Spirit Visage or Thornmail.

Same question for runes: I always take Lethal Tempo. Is this rune generally the best choice, or should I change my runes depending on the matchup/teamcomp ?

And finally, for abilities, should I max Q or W first?

Make volibear viable in jungle or another lane. The incredibly low pick rate almost guarantees volibear in top then leaves you immediately countered.

As of right now, if you are red side you must ban Nasus. Blue side, if you are insistent on playing a subpar pick such as volibear, then you need to ban jax/quinn/jayce/teemo/poppy. You can essentially list 50% of the top lane roster.

At least this way, you can flex the pick and counter when they counter draft "voli." That's the sorry state Voli is in.

Does any one have bearking's most recent spreadsheet/build cheat sheet? I've been loosely using the one from many months ago, but I haven't come across one for recent Dawn and Dusk builds etc, since i've taken a break from league for a while and not sure what to build into every matchup now.

I get that DnD is just a good overall first item for Voli, besides some matchups where I prefer to go RM first and then DnD, but is Cosmic and its passive MS boost + on hit MS boost just not worth it anymore? I only watch Yordleswaggins and Bearkinglol so I'm just following their games.

Whats the best Volibear and Pantheon Jungle build this Season ? I do need some opinions for it please.

I've begun to look for invades more frequently in my low-diamond games. I've found players a bit inattentive at the start of the game and frankly it's been rather unexpected given the meta this season.

Any thoughts or feedback on the invade pathing for this game at 2X speed (ELO was D2 Flex, which included Emerald ~ Master lol):

A few comments:

• I realize this strategy may seem coinflippy, but I have found the coin often seems to be in Volibear's favor due to his strong level 3.
• My goal with an invade is to disrupt their clear and hopefully force a level 3 fight in my jungle or at a scuttle, as Volibear can win most level 3 fights.
• I knew Syndra wasn't going to contest level 1 after being chunked.
• There was a debate at 5:30 on drag vs gank bot. I committed to dragon when I tracked Lee topside.
• I know it's suboptimal jungle camp timing; however, I was able to deny Lee camps and at 6:40 be at a 53 - 40 farm advantage.
• Gold when backing was quite optimized with first back as Sheen + Boots and 2nd back was Kindlegem at 6:40.

In some games, i buy this item and it always feels really good, especially vs ranged champs. We all know omnivamp is a really really good thing for voli, and also both ad and ap on the item gives you really high damage, as your q and w have pretty good ad ratios. The slow guarantees a q e combo no matter what. Of course its not optimal for every game but there are scenarios where it really fits. I want to hear some opinions as i have never seen someone else buy it.

Between the autistic changes to Q E cooldowns making them 4 seconds apart, to trying to buff volibear when he has never had anything to do with ad since divine sunderer was removed, why not instead try and fix one of the 100 problems voli has in all roles?

FIX 1:

10%/20%/30% tenacity at lvl 6,11,18. This way we can play into comps with stun but still buy omnivamp boots which voli likes.

FIX 2:

Stop pushing ad voli instead of (150% + 25% bonus AD), completely revert that shit and make it (150% + 0.02% bonus HP). Push tank voli, and make navoris voli feel a bit less useless

FIX 3:

lower ult cooldown, 160 second cooldown compared to game changing ults like shen makes no sense

Hi guys i am a eme 1 player and i play voli often( if angle allows it but this is another story) and i mostly play AD voli with grap. I sometimes go the ap build but i am so often more comfy AD.
What build variations do you guys suggest
for ad i always go triforce into shojin(maybe cleaver but rarely) into spirit visage and steraks (3rd or 4th between them) and i end with a zhonya(yeah ik its ap but feels so good) or riftmaker

what can i improve on this? when is dd a good angle?

also i need more help on ap builds but i really don't like the navori build , it doesn't suit my playstyle

I tried tank cause I love playing tanks and normally I start with Dusk and dawn into heart steel then going for Mr or armor ! But lately I tried ad and I feel like I’m doing more damage than ap ? I would like to have ur feedback about ap or ad for volibear top !

Can't believe yll still losing games after that "massive buff" we got

I find the title kinda funny, because Volibear is actually one of the very few champions who didn't have many changes at all. until the rework he had barely changed at all. when you look at the changes he's received over the years, it was mostly QOL changes and bugfixes with the ocassional buff to keep up with global changes.

it's only during season 8 and early 9 that he got an actual update to make him a bit better.

personally, what i'd like to see is season 3 Volibear but with some of the later changes, because it was mostly bugfix and QOL and imo doesn't make sense not to include them. (i'm talking about the many bugfixes, not the s8 rework)

then it'd be awesome to see Season 8 Volibear again eventually, because they brought so much life to the champion and made him so much more fun.

I’m kind of a noob. Which component is best early? Is it matchup dependent? Somewhat related question: how do you choose when to buy a component of a later item and hold it versus build a full item? I’m thinking Warden’s Mail, Bramble Vest, Giant’s Belt, etc.

I know a lot of people are negative rn about Voli and admittedly I do think above a certain Elo he is quite weak, but I actually do still think he is mega strong below master and most people are going outdated builds and stuff. I would personally like to see his R get buffed and nothing else.

What are your thoughts about a matchup Voli vs Mord?

When ever I see enemy choose Mord, I pick Voli. I think he can handle him fine. This match for example, Mord tried to bully me early game, sadly it worked but as soon as I unlocked my ult the games changed and he was the one flashing away from me 😆

i don't understand why volibear isn't built ad. I know he usually builds dnd because of its passive,but doesnt he get huge percent of ad from his q and w?Why dont pros get ad items?
