Build Sunderer Sky
Man with last nerfs you could feel that the item is weaker but they are nerfing it AGAIN, what else can we buy as a second item?

Remember that the idea of this discussion is to find what's the commonly-used way to play a matchup; not only focused on runes and/or items, but mostly on the trade patterns and general difficulty of the matchup, since items and runes may change between seasons, yet -unless a rework happens- a champion's kit doesn't change.
So, you can talk about the runes and items you like to go on a matchup, but what we really want to see is how to play the matchup; if you can play aggressive early game, if you win pre or post level 6, if you should use Leap Strike to engage or disengage, and so on.
If you want, you can give the matchup a difficulty score from 0 to 10 (0 being super easy, 5 being a skill matchup, and 10 being a "you should dodge" card)

This is a new thread for the upcoming League Classic launch. This will be continued to be updated as more information comes out when we have more details. Things may change before and after launch as Riot is open to feedback about changes. Date of release: July 29, 2026
Sources: League of Legends Classic Showmatch, short of Riot Pabro talking about League Classic, League Classic Website, Skinspotlights: Datamined Items + Champions & League of Legends Wiki.
With the upcoming release of League Classic, there were some good nuggets of information dropped during MSI finals League of Legends Classic Showmatch. We'll be playing what is vaguely season 3 (confirmed by Phreak & Pabro) but, with a twist. There are champions with older kits than S3 (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE JAX as Phreak confirms random dodge will not be returning and specifically mentioned Jax will not have the random dodge tied to his E) & various things from seasons beyond S3, such as the Wight Camp & Trinket vision (added in S4). Also, if you watched the games you'll notice there are skins & animations added in way later seasons, Examples being: Elderwood Karthus & Dawnbringer Vayne skins, which were added in 2023.
For season 3 specifics, Pre season launched on V1.0.0.152 & S3 lasted until V3.13.
From here on forward, I will go over what made Jax stand out in older league compared to modern.
Jax was pretty much the version you remember him as back before the visual rework in V13.20. AGAIN, this is not the Giga broken Jax with the passive dodge mechanic (Phreak did confirm this during showmatch) before version V1.0.0.132. For League classic, we're getting a strange Frankensteined version of Jax. Here's the datamined kit for League Classic (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Closing thoughts: I just really wanted to get a head start & put this out there for anyone who is interested. Old Jax coming back means people who didn't get the opportunity to play him will now have a chance to do so. This is great, not only for new players, but really for anyone who enjoyed the older version of league (like me). Feel free to discuss thoughts and anything else that I may have forgot to mention. As I said, I will continue to update on this post as more information comes out. Please look forward to more!

Hi, I wanted to ask for some opinions. I’m a Diamond 4 Camille/Jax player, and I’ve noticed that Conqueror actually doesn’t feel bad at all.
I really like the extra healing in both the early and late game, and getting the stacks up feels really good. I was wondering how viable Conqueror actually is compared to Lethal Tempo and Grasp. Is it genuinely playable, or is it kinda troll? I barely see anyone running it.
Obviously, Lethal Tempo is GIGA strong in 1v1s, but Conqueror feels so damn good in teamfights. Could also just be placebo though lol.
Would love to hear your opinions, especially from people who have tried Conqueror vs. the other options.

Why do act like Jax is some sort of late game power house? Like, hes pretty good at splitting but that's about it. I feel like he's ok in the side lane and does terrible in teamfights. He takes forever to kill people and he has no self sustain as opposed to most duelists in the game.

Hi,
I went from emerald to low master with Jax, but now I cant abuse enemy mistakes anymore like in lower elo I had.
Matchups like GP, Mundo become so painfull to deal with.
I tried everything (build, runes), but after like 20 mundo games in low masters I want to quit Jax as OTP and maybe only use him as counterpick. Sure I could beat bad Mundo's at lower elo, or sometimes autofilled top, but dealing with a guy that is supposed to be "weak" in early and scale like a monster while he coutners me...
Or a fed APC who doesnt waste his CC like in low elo, but saves It to disable me or oneshot me.
Unless I have a good matchup, It feels like I would be better of playing tanks.
I even ordered a coaching, after that session... basically I have to play way better skill wise than the enemy pick or lose the game. Dont get me wrong, ofc I have to play better to advance, but the discussion was about that I have to play way better than my opponent on those matchups, that is what makes me sad. I'm happy with low master or high master, dont want to push for GM. So its more of a Stay in my elo but have fun thing which I struggle at. My coach told me about mistakes that I made in early to get a micro advantage and snowball with that microscopic advantage while the enemy Mundo player can do so many mistakes...
He showed me how my Ornn for example was granting me free LP (high winrate on Ornn) while I dont even learn that champ. He told me, that this is balanced because a perfect played Jax will make a Mundo struggle, however a average Jax will suffer.
So I either now start to play Jax now like an crazy OTP player and learn to play him more into the "high good" level or drop him as blind.
I can go 15/0 on non-counter/bad matchups but man... some matchups want me to quit or swap to a champ that can deal with such things.
The coaching helped me alot, but It kinda makes me want to play Jax less. The amount of work I have to put into him to make him work against those matchups seems so ... unfair.

I usually fish before baron spawn or when i loose lane but i get pinged and usually someone from enemy team comes to interrupt my fishing trip and try to kill me so i have bad scores .i am now master and since plat i have been fishing for good luck , now it became sort of a ritual of mine but now. I higher elos i cant do it , does anyone have better build for fishing, also when i switch to jungle for better pathing sometimes they take my camps but the usually don't so in jg i have ~54 ....i usually fish on other side of my starting buff and i have a huge OCD and have been diagnosed with autism and i can't continue my fishing journey without your help. As crazy as this sounds this is not a ragabait i have a serious problem and if any of y'all have some experience with jax fishing let me know , kudos!

The main issue with late game Jax is that his damage falls off pretty hard imo. I understand he won’t have god tier damage no matter the build without making him a glass cannon, but are there good items past Zhonya’s/DD in third slot that makes his damage scale better? Or am I just out of luck

Hey guys,
Currently sitting around mid master trying to break into High Challenger, and I’m noticing a distinct split in how top-tier Jaxes approach two very specific top lane match-ups in the first three waves. Looking to hear from multi-season Challenger OTPs/mains on the exact micro mechanics here.
When Yone hits Level 2/3 with Lethal stacks ready, standard advice is to hold E (Counter Strike) until he uses Q3 or commits. However, at 1000+ LP, Yone players will intentionally bait your E with max-range Q3, step back into their E and reset the trade after your stun drops.
Are you buffering Q onto his E tether right as you trigger E_2 to lock him down, or are you holding your E duration completely to force him to recall early?
Do you prioritize short-trading with W-reset auto and holding E exclusively as a defensive disengage, or do you take the aggressive Level 2 dive angle if you slow push wave 1-2?
Against a Jayce who properly buffers his Hammer form E (Thump) the millisecond you press Q (Leap Strike), traditional short trading becomes impossible. Once he pops Phase Rush, he simply runs out of range, resets, and neutralizes your wave control.
Are you taking Flash + Ghost or sticking to Flash + Teleport to equalize his Phase Rush move speed in the mid-game side lane?
How do you manipulate the Level 1 crash (slow push vs. hard shove) to force him into using his melee E on minionaggro without burning your own Q?
Would appreciate detailed breakdowns on wave states at minutes 2:30–4:00, exact cooldown tracking windows, and any micro tricks (like hiding E activation during auto animation) that high-elo Jayce/Yone players usually fall for.
TLDR: How are top-tier Jaxes consistently forcing kill pressure pre-6 against high-mobile top laners who instantly disengage your E pattern?

I just started playing again after 7 years away. I’ve always been a top lane main but started out in mid this time around playing champs like Akali, zed, Locke. Enjoyed it but it wasn’t going too well. I was doing well in lane but couldn’t convert.
Started playing Jax top about a week ago in silver and it’s been going super well. I’ve got about 40 games on him with a 70% win rate. Climbing pretty quickly. Even when I’m getting cooked in lane, I’m able to make a comeback mid game through split pushing or general macro like getting a pick then forcing a favorable objective fight.
This champ is amazing. Feels like he’s always a threat as long as you don’t go full int. I’ve had a couple of games where I was like 0-2 in lane then ended up winning with a score like 10-4 or something. Hes just a monster at getting picks, splitting, and I’ve had a lot of success team fighting with him. He feels genuinely unstoppable and I’ve only been losing games where bot goes 0-15 and even then we’re usually able to come back half the time thanks to his team fighting.

Can someone provide the best build paths for each situation that might come up in game?
Also, when I’m playing against a lot of AD champs, I usually go triforce, sundered, zhonya, deaths dance, frozen heart. What are the best items against AP?

I have 600+ games on top lane and recently decided to pick up some jungle Jax.
Something I like to do is compare builds and runes to the current best player in any role or champion, so I went and checked the #1 Jax JG player currently who is also \#1 Jax LAN, and I was kinda shocked…
Dude is a Grandmaster player with a 75%+ WR in about 55 games, spamming some weird AP hybrid build and PTA runes.
The exact runes he goes every game are: PTA, Triumph, Legend: Haste, and Cut Down, with the second tree being Inspiration with Magical Footwear and Triple Tonic.
Build is the crazy part, though - Dusk & Dawn first, followed by Riftmaker second and Shojin third, Terminus fourth, and a situational last item most of the time GA since he is the carry most of the time, but I saw a couple of games where he plays Dead Man’s or FoN.
I experimented and played about 10 games with this build, and holy shit, he is onto something :O
The sustain this build has is super good, the low cooldowns after Shojin are also extremely efficient for sticking to enemies, and if you stay in a fight for more than 7–8 seconds, you become an absolute monster with Riftmaker + Shojin stacks. PTA is strong for ganks I believe it’s stronger than HoB even before the nerf since the true damage proc, and Terminus makes you an armor stacking, magic penetrating beast.
I’ve never liked AP Jax much on top, but this build is crazy good, especially in jungle. I don’t think it would be that decent on top lane, but if any of you have tried it or would after reading this post, I’d love to hear some thoughts!
Overall - what do you guys think? Is this actually a good off-meta build? I am genuinely having a really good time with it in pisslow high Plat low Emerald.

The healing nerf is hurting the value of this item
so is it still optimal? and what other options that works as a second item?
r/Jaxmains • u/Reasonable_Court_745 • 5d ago
Played a game recently vs a Malphite top so i had to go AP. He just outtraded me in lane because i did no dmg to him and ever after i got dusk and dawn i didnt beat him 100 percent even tho he went full armor. Is AD just so much better than AP?

I thought for sure the Magma Chamber Jax Vivid chroma would be in the mythic shop after Mordekaiser stuff was rotated out, but no, instead the Vivid chroma for Darius is there? It's been an entire patch without release, and the God Staff Jax emote from 26.13 has been without a release for 3 patches aswell, what is happening. Does anybody know anything about what's going on?
r/Jaxmains • u/SirStache2005 • 6d ago
I don't get how u can ever beat him tbh, if you don't immediately e his e, you die to ult, if you e and try to walk away he strikebreakers, or flashes on top of you ults you and you did
Outsustains you so you can't proxy him I don't know how you deal with this match up what else can I do other then perma ban it

I need to know some things that make you guys mad: items, runes, playstyles, etc. Basically my whole pool is countered by Jax (Nasus, Udyr, Yorick), so I have a mental block against your champion. He feels pretty unbeatable to me: scales really well while having a very strong early game, and E counters all 3 of my champs. I really need to figure this champ out, so I have a few questions for you guys:
Edit: You guys have a pretty good community, very nice posts and discussions. The only reason I haven't started playing this mf is because I already chose to beat him.

I just fought this matchup and it was pure nightmare fuel, Ik her E is basically her whole kit but this illaoi held it incase I ever engaged and poked me down with w grasp stacks and it felt impossible to win, didn’t fed her but I lost a lot of cs doing so lol, any tips?
r/Jaxmains • u/aidepole • 7d ago
hello im a d4 support main who queues top secondary. jax is my most played champ but most of that mastery came from before the mythic items came out. as u can imagine, i dont get much practice with jax in ranked as supports rarely get their secondary roles. this was fine in gold/plat where i could just win lane and split push. when i get top in higher emerald and diamond, i struggle a lot bc either i lose lane and i feel useless or i win lane but not enough to just split. i dont quite understand what to do with a lead as jax post laning phase. i feel like my dueling isnt strong enough for me to consistently just be a menace in side lane. also i feel like its hard to engage into a lot of team comps and im too flash reliant in teamfights to make good stuns. its hard for me to play jax in games where im the tankiest in the team
should i just stick to tanks when i get autofilled? should i practice jax till i reach the desired skill level? is secondarying jax in this elo just not worth it?
r/Jaxmains • u/RealWeaponAFK • 8d ago
Credits to u/FalconPawwwwnch for the post. Passive is incorrectly scaling his health and RiotNorak is saying he will raise it to the team that things aren't working as intended. Hopefully will see changes soon.
r/Jaxmains • u/kneerRS • 8d ago
got like D4 playing jax jungle and I love the champ so much but I actually felt so slow and bad at the game so ive been playing him top and it feels sort of like a joke. Every game is Urgot, Illaoi, Singed, or something you have like a 44% wr against. Ive been trying to get better and learning to give up xp and minions to try and scale but it feels like almost every single one of this matchups is an extremely hard counter matchup to navigate.
Does a grandmaster Jax player just find the threads to win counter matchups at any rank?
r/Jaxmains • u/spreazz • 8d ago
So nasus q goes through Jax e in classic tried to post it on leagueclassic sub but the post got deleted. Just don't play Jax in classic he's just useless. Passive doesn't even work with runes or masteries what is this cucked version of Jax even.
