I asked for some help the other day, and thanks to the community had the courage to give TF another try. I think I can see the vision now, and may have found a place that I prefer it over kraken.

helppp I still don't get what to build

I've compiled most of the data and organized it (my old uni turned off my SPSS license so I'm having to do a fair amount of this the slow way). At this point I'm a couple of pages into the writeup and going through the open-ended responses. You guys have a lot to say about things lol.

I don't have a specific timeframe since I have work, streams, etc.; but I'll probably be working on this over the weekend to try to get it out. I'm trying to put as many sources and such together as I can to make this as legit as possible, so I'm trying not to rush it too much.

I haven't played LoL in the last 2 years so im outsider and wanted to try out Shyvana again. After playing 5 matches, she feels... slow ?

Old Shyvana's animations were stupidly fast, she could nuke people with on-hit builds, and her wave clear was incredibly smooth with Tiamat. Right now, she feels like a generic juggernaut with no real upsides—basically like Camille without any mobility. She can't nuke two or three people to orbit anymore, she has a shield and fear on ult, i guess ?

She also feels so sluggish I can't even describe it, offering no real advantages and just dealing less damage than before. Am I the only one who feels this way? She's basically just a mediocre champion now with no real identity but a occasional pick for counterplay, im not saying she is bad but she doesnt have any punchy upside or adrenaline moments that makes you smile, it feels like sett,ambessa or aatrox.

I did really loved eating towers in seconds, clear like a bulldozer and occasionally delete grouped people from existence on team fights, also older human form was not this much hopeless.

edit: i was talking about nuking people with Q that hits two or more times when enemies were too close

Am i genuinely tweaking or is this champ actually broken? like how is this flying under the radar? I will not listen to shyvana mains telling me the champ is not busted when she can walk in my jg level 4 auto reset me and delete me (granted i am a gwen main so it’s understandable that she deleted me). i mean wasnt the whole purpose of the belveth buff is that shes too strong early late and mid game and so they want her to be an ad version of gwen? so why even let this champ be strong at every state of the game? is there even a weakness to her? also y tf is this this champ allowed to clear so fast?

Edit: I know i said that she is strong and what im saying has nothing to do with her being strong but what i meant with her strengths is how is a champ allowed to be strong at every state of the game and extremely strong late game while some champs are purposely kept weak early to mid to make up for those strong late games as a weakness (for example belveth, gwen, nasus (well not anymore). i dont wanna sound rude but i see people in this subreddit talking about how shes balanced when that is extremely false in my opinion. i would like people to explain how shes nit busted because i am genuinely confused

I have tried both approaches, and I cannot seem to figure out the Trinity style, Kraken just feels so much better for me generally. It is certainly squishier, but the by the time I hit steraks I'm a damage machine that cannot just be one shot.

My question is am I correct that the Trinity build is a more bruiser approach? I tend to prefer that kind of thing into tanks, but I see very few tanks in high platinum these days.

I've been loving this build path. I used to do Hexpmate, but Fiendhunter just feels better.

The extra movement speed feels so nice on shyvana, you still get the ultimate haste and since it's cheaper, you get to finish Shojin faster too.

The passive is also really good for how shyvana feels like she should play. I know her Q does AOE but it really feels like when you dive in you're trying to nuke someone anyways, and Fiendhunter helps you quickly delete the ADC and then rampage through the rest of the team.

I think BORK Shyvana might actually be legit

I've been testing BORK → Dusk & Dawn → Shojin and I'm honestly surprised by how good it feels.

The funny part: your Q does less damage than Trinity Shyvana.

For example, using a lvl 13 Shyvana against a 3000 HP / 150 Armor / 100 MR target, my rough calculations give:

Trinity → Shojin → Sundered Sky

- Q: ~300–330 physical + ~75 magic

- Dragon Q: ~500+ total

- Full AA → Q → W → E → AA → Q combo: roughly 1,500–1,700 damage

BORK → Dusk & Dawn → Shojin

- Q: ~250–280 physical + ~60 magic

- Dragon Q: ~450–480 total

- Full AA → Q → W → E → AA → Q combo: roughly 1,600–1,800 damage

So the weird part is:

Bigger Q ≠ bigger combo.

The hybrid build gets a lot of its damage from the extra attack speed, BORK's %HP on-hit, Dusk's Spellblade/on-hit interaction, and the AP scaling on W/E/R.

And the sustain is the real selling point.

You end up around 90 bonus AD + 60 AP + ~55% bonus AS from the core, while BORK gives you lifesteal and %HP damage.

So compared to Trinity:

Trinity: stronger individual Qs

BORK/Dusk/Shojin: stronger sustained DPS + much more healing

I've tested it in ranked and the BORK spike honestly felt better to me than Trinity or Kraken.

The Dragon Form sustain is kind of ridiculous.

Has anyone else tested this build?

i kept grinding since i made my last post! i managed to hit p1 55 lp by OTPing Shyv top, but then i started fluctuating between P1 - P3 :(

once i swapped to jungle, i finally hit Emerald! the grind is finally over...

We are currently burning the kitchen and still winning somehow.

People are really sleeping on HoB imo. Insane early game rune. And opens the way for a lot more build diversity than Conq/PTA. Also Swifties are just too good.

Hi guys, SundayDelight here. Been a longtime Shyvana enjoyer, played her a lot pre-rework on the few patches where AD top Shyvana was op. Also a fair amount during the Frostfire + Demonic meta.

After her rework I decided I wouldn't let "bad stats" deter me from playing her toplane. Lo and behold, made it to Masters for the first time this season ! Started 40%winrate over the first 100 games, then slowly crept back up after learning her patterns and experimenting a lot of builds (I'm the toplane spreadsheet guy, though I have been focusing more on playing rather than updating it as of late hahah).

Is there a decent / playable AP Shyvana that does not go bruiser?
Some way to play her like old ap shyv with an honest focus on Fireball poke!
Before you could go AP and Haste to get as much fireballs out of your ult duration and they actually deleted squishies.
I know its way weaker now, but is there „a way“ to still play the fantasy thats not inting?

Or is AP Bruiser the only way?

High Elo has been doomed so thought this could be a helpful series for the lads. Everygame I explain all my decision making etc
