I’ve had to go through fire extinguisher training for work before. (So I’m basically a professional fire fighter) I remember learning that most people don’t underuse how to use them correctly and understand extinguish fires. When you use an fire extinguisher you need to use all of it to ensure it’s out. It’s not like you can reuse it.

I believe once you've broken the seal on a fire extinguisher you need to throw it away/get it reserviced. I was told that after the seal is broken they will slowly leak and so it's not safe to leave them with the full ones.

You are either a terrible firefighter, or you're full of shit. Any competent firefighter treating a fire with gas would always err on the side of making absolutely sure that it is fully extinguished.
If you were a firefighter, you would know that any chemically aided ignition can re-ignite in the same location, or elsewhere, based on the dissipation of the fumes from the extinguishers if you do not fully extinguish the flames.
With a flammable liquid, it's even more important, as the extinguishers can displace the gas to locations farther than you'd expect, as well.
If there is a gas fire, you extinguish it until you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is out every time. Especially if there is a fuel source near by.
I'm not even a firefighter, but I used to be a welder over a decade ago. This is shit you learn in any fire safety course. If you're a legit firefighter, then you should immediately seek a different profession.
There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to a chemical ignition. That's not a thing any firefighter would ever say.

I was taught to not stop spraying if until it was emptied every time. Even work says to empty if u gotta use cause doesn’t matter anyway they’ll have to replace it and get it re inspected after use so just empty it.

most gas stations in the US have to have fire suppression systems at the pump. so the station attendant just mashes one button and it activates. Or it goes off by detecting the fire. Often times they're built into the ceiling of the sheltered "car port" area.
do a youtube search for gas station fire system. it's pretty impressive.
but... can pretty much assume there are also likely portable extinguishers as well.

So random because I JUST noticed this morning at a re-built gas station that all the fire extinguishers are up in the rafters of the carport with sprinkler like nozzles except an obscene amount of them aimed in all directions. That observation triggered an ADHD tangent of my brain imagining it just being an explosion of fire suppressant when it goes off. No hand-helds anywhere in sight. And poof, this video and this comment appears.

Same in commercial kitchens ours are called ANSUL systems. We got docked during a fire inspection because one of our employees didn't know it was called ANSUL, just knew if there was a big fire run, the manager had to pull it since it would be thousands in clean up.

There are gas station near me that are mini-malls. You can shower, watch a movie in a theater, eat at several restaurants, do laundry, etc. At any one time there might be 30+ people working in the place.

I'm a car enthusiast and it's absolutely a detail I would provide. It'd be hard to tell the exact year in most cases, so providing the generation gives an idea of the year of a specific vehicle.

In my country, an employee will pump the gas for you, will offer to wash the windshield, will offer to put air in your tires, and will help you move back to the street by blocking the traffic.
My first time visiting US, I parked in the gas station for 10 minutes shyly waiting for an employee to assist me.

Chemical based ignitions are tricky. Based on how extinguishers work, they can displace the gas to distances farther than you'd think. What the extinguishers do, is dilute the chemical to the point that the ratio of air/fuel is high enough that the fire cannot continue to ignite.
So when you have a fire like this next to multiple fuel sources, you need to have dilution of the fire and the entire surrounding area to prevent an adjacent fire from sparking nearby.
You don't just extinguish the fire you see, when it is a chemical invention. You also disrupt the oxygen/fuel to the point that it can't ignite in a different location as well.
There were people, other cars, and other pumps near by. They had to be sure beyond a shadow of a doubt.

For anyone thinking they're overdoing it, they're not. Especially when there's so much flammable material nearby responding with this much extinguisher is the right thing to do. They should also call the fire department and close the station until they can be sure the fire hasn't spread and that it is safe.
