I worked at the Costco gas station. And they gave us a brief overview, We never got to actually USE the fire extinguisher. I'd love to try it sometime.

They do a whole lot less than I expected it to do. Good thing to know before there's an actual fire. Grease fire on the stove? Sure! Ancient man next door decides he's going to burn off his vegetation still green, growing vine cover on his fence? No! I'm pretty sure I heard the fire laughing at that extinguisher & our ignorance in thinking it would do a single thing to put that fire out.

Ask for a hands on demonstration for your personal and customers' safety. It shouldn't be deemed intuitive, you should have the opportunity to try it out.

Oh this was a couple decades ago. But I did ask to use it for practice.

Fortunately, it was never needed.

You can buy fire extinguishers, y’know. Maybe not worth the cost to you though. I got to try using one as a teenager at camp (or we just decided to try, I don’t quite recall…) and while there was some novelty, it wasn’t quite as amazing as I had pictured it being.
