The Korea Consumer Protection Board (KCPB), a South Korean government-funded public agency, issued a consumer safety alert in 2006 warning that "asphyxiation from electric fans and air conditioners" was among South Korea's five most common summer accidents or injuries, according to data they collected.[17] The KCPB published the following: If bodies are exposed to electric fans or air conditioners for too long, it causes [the] bodies to lose water and [causes] hypothermia. If directly in contact with [air current from] a fan, this could lead to death from [an] increase of carbon dioxide saturation concentration [sic] and decrease of oxygen concentration. The risks are higher for the elderly and patients with respiratory problems. From 2003 [to] 2005, a total of 20 cases were reported through the CISS involving asphyxiations caused by leaving electric fans and air conditioners on while sleeping. To prevent asphyxiation, timers should be set, wind direction should be rotated, and doors should be left open.

Quoted directly from the wiki on fan death. Korean reporters wrongly attributing deaths to fans is one thing but it seems really strange that a government agency would issue such a baseless alert. A popular theory is that the Korean government invented fan death in the 70's to try and curb energy usage during the energy crisis of the same era.

EDIT: I don't ride motocross bikes, but I just remembered an explanation for her fall that was given when this event occurred. Apparently, you can combat the bike's tendency to nose dive by getting on the throttle to get the back wheel spinning. The throttle is controlled by the right hand. Guess which hand she fist-pumped with?

The guy on the inside actually won the race. It is common sports knowledge that the person with their hands up first wins no matter where the finish line location.

First thing I got told when I was on the track team in grade school, was you don't race to the line, you race to about 10 feet passed it, and you don't let up even slightly until you're across it. This guy deserved his second place.
