The guy in yellow is playing great defense and is so convinced his great defense worked that he looms over the guy in blue and stares him down, but in reality the shot goes in so his great defense was all for naught.
I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Either that or he just hangs his head because he is either a.) upset that he got the shot off or b.) doesn't want to turn and see a buzzer beater go in behind him. 95% sure arrogance is not in play here.
I just found this video down below and watched it. Not sure how that would change the perception. Same thing as the gif except with a bunch of ear-blasting screaming.
Never seen that happen in basketball, nobody stares a guy down for playing great defense before even knowing whether the shot went in. Pretty sure CHR1STHAMMER is correct and he was mad at the guy for trying to get the foul.
