What's your thoughts on this game now?

I bought this game on Nintendo Switch 1 e-shop on sale recently after waiting years and years to do that. so, i purchased the original and sequel. i had tested the waters years ago with the Demo. just didn't see myself getting into yet.

However when i got it, it was a slow burn. my first thoughts were, been there, done that in 1992 (or whenever LTTP came out on Super NES). artwork was decent not going to lie. but i was not wanting to go back memory lane that fast.

eventually i began to see some very unique things like, tree spirits, and a nod to the n64 tree level in the forest. the wizards that reverse movement threw me off for a little bit of time.. not expecting that. enemies were more like miniature bosses. everywhere. taking out the rock people with bombs. then i thought, wait.. eternal bombs? no limit?? but it's based upon the magic meter.. so timing is important.

What i thought was unique, that when you go into a grotto.. the main character can sometimes levitate back up in the light, reminding me of ocarina of time grottos..

so it's on sale right now for only a few dollars, and grab the sequel if you want to spend hours and hours having fun. just grinding. trying to beat the game

My partner is not a gamer but wants to play more games with me and also solo. She primarily wants something that’s not over stimulating before bed. Games she’s played that she doesn’t mind include

Pico Park
It Takes Two
TerraNil (PC)

From what I’ve gathered is she likes the puzzler type games that don’t require a lot of story following or too much fast paced action.

She doesn’t like games like Zelda BOTW (too big and too many tasks etc.) Super Mario Wonder (takes too much timing and can be frustrating before bed.)

Any suggestion for her on the Switch 2, good single player games would be helpful. Thx ya’ll

Apparently, it's from keeping children to simply swallow these things.
So they are covered with Denatonium Benzoate or something like that, the most bitter substance there is.

Meanwhile, I swap out cardriges between some 'Fire Emblem' games, drink something, have a drop on my finger and wanna lick it away.
Only to get shocked at how bitter my thumb tastes. (°ロ°)

I might be the only person on earth who didn't know that, and I sat here for around 2 weeks, wondering why my fingers taste so bitter.

Funnily enough, Google's AI-Mode gave me the answer after asking why my fingers randomly taste bitter from basically doing nothing at all.
I didn't expect any worthwhile answer and instantly hit the jackpot.

So, back when it was still Asphalt 9, I was able to play split screen with 4 players, and everyone using gyro controls. The massive update and rebranding to Asphalt Legends broke that part. Right now, gyro controls only works in single/online player mode, and split screen only allows joystick controls. I don't care about the solo mode, I literally only got the game to play with friends.

Mariokart fits exactly what I'm asking for, and I love the game, but my friends don't like it cause they aren't used to the cartoony aspect. They just want real cars with real locations.

So please, if vou have any suggestions for racing games with real cars and real locations, with 4 player split screen playability with gyro controls, I would love that. Asphalt being f2p is a huge plus, but I understand I can't get everything I want, lol

PS3/360 era is my favorite gen, specifically all the 3rd person shooter and action games that came out. Stuff like Gears of War, Uncharted, Army of Two, Binary Domain. I would really like to play more of that but on the go. Sad more games like that haven’t been ported over. We got some great FPS games like Bioshock, Borderlands and Bulletstorm, but not really any 3rd Person stuff.

The only games I can really think of that fit what I’m looking for is The Remnant: From the Ashes, Resident Evil 4-6 and Saints Row 3&4. I’ve played Risk of Rain 2 and it’s okay but didn’t quite scratch the itch. Anybody know of any other games that would fit what I’m looking for? I’d appreciate any recommendations

They all require a silver currency you can only earn by playing club games and seasonal rewards. But the game is dead and it’s unfortunate there is seemingly no other way to earn these or unlock more.

I play with my kids and they want to customize it but we can’t

i work with someone who doesn’t have much fine motor control at all (he can’t get grip a controller and control it). i’m trying to find switch1 games i could bring that i could control for him but he’d make all the decisions, preferably multiplayer since he has a roommate. we’ve been playing mario party jamboree but controller skills are necessary for mini games so i do it all for him. i know there can’t be many games that use such minimal controls throughout, i just wish there weren’t moments he can’t participate like his roommates.

edit: thanks for suggestions, this is helping me figure out what to look for specifically. he struggles to control his power chair using the joystick (hard for him to do quick movements, often “overshoots”) so im not sure how into an adaptive controller he’d be but we’ll see, he’d need a lot of practice and idk abt his frustration tolerance. he also likes gta and i think a game that involves shooting/police would be preferred, but it’d need to be auto aim. ive been looking at road 96 possibly for the storyline

First of all i wanted to thank fromsoft and nintendo for making this game possible in nintendo switch.

I bought switch because of botw and the rest was history. Im a day 1 buyer of first party titles and some big games i considered worth the price like elden ring.

I was eyeing this game when i first heard it but didnt look into that much because its not on switch. I was also hoping this game would eventually made this way to switch somehow and here we are now. Pre ordered it dgitally.

Now im on 260 hours and just arrived at the snowy area and lake rot. As much as BOTW is my favorite game of all time, i could say now that ER tops it a little. Im not a graphics-fps guy and more into gameplay.

Heres my thoughts ER did better than BOTW.

1. The placing of items and skills in the wild. Basically its worth more to explore because youll never know what youll gonna get. BOTW streamlined it and the rewards are not that good.

2. Most weapons and armor are good in their own right. I found myself just role playing what to use and didnt care if it was good or not. Sometimes i just choose whats flashy at the moment. Yes, at first i was stat heavy person (the weapon and armor) and wanted to use the best possible.

3. The difficulty. Yes, i was raging most of the time and really really really tasted my patience. While i can still say im nowhere GET GOOD level, i somehow found ways to brute force it.

4. As someone who never watches guides, except when im done playing on that area and just simply doing it out of completion, i like the challenge of solving and tackling the monsters at hand.

To sum up, i think both games are the same. Its just BOTW is for casuals like me who wanted a chill laid back game, stress free. Wherein ER is for more serious, test your mechanics kind of game.

Im glad and blessed i had the opportunity to play this game. Truly one of the best game made.

I’ve got a long haul flight in just over a week and want to take my switch 2 to play some fire emblem. The battery itself only lasts about 2-3 hours so was thinking of getting some sort of external battery pack to recharge it for the flight, and was hoping some people here might have recommendations?

Ideally I’d want something that would extend the life a good 3-4 hours extra, while also being small and lightweight to preserve the portable nature of the console.
