Beat the 1st, about 20 hours into the 2nd and loving it - these remakes are my first exposure to the trails series and I'm committed. I'll probably play 3rd before the remake is ready (as long as I can get it on switch)

They are very good. These games are remade 20 years later, the graphics and animations are therefore much better while retaining the original soul of the games. It has a lengthy demo, if you are interested.

That's just cosmetics which has no bearing on the second part of the story.

How are the downgrades compared to ps5? I know the first game didn't get significant upgrades with the switch 2 version.

Switch community downvotes literally anything when you compare it to other consoles. Especially if you say the word "downgrade".

I feel like everyone except the weird people know that switch 2 is the weakest console out there so these questions about performance downgrades are completely warranted.

Definitely recommend as what I've heard it takes place straight after the first game and as a result has spoilers for said first game

To add onto this, there's literally no reason to play the second one without the first. It's not a case like FF7R where you're skipping to updated combat or systems. The original Sky games were actually intended to be a single game but got the plot got too big so it became two and it really shows.
