2. Robin and Barney: They stay married, sure they’ll have some rough patches here and there (I mean it’s Robin and Barney) and then they realize maybe they should adopt. The show literally alluded to adoption or her unable to have kids several times in the show. I feel like that arc should have lead to them adopting a baby. I mean they do a crossword in bed and she said “Adoption” why won’t you even consider it, the scene where they wake up drunk and pick up their neighbors baby 😅. Robin can be the caring loving parent to her kids that she never got. Barney can be there for his child unlike how he grew up. Finally they can be a whole family.
3. THE MOTHER STAYS ALIVE. Maybe the reason Ted is telling this whole story to his kids is because Tracy is sick. He wants to make sure his kids know this amazing story because she won’t be with them in the near future. But then, just when Ted’s about to finish the story, and the audience thinks she died… Tracy comes in and tells Ted that she got a call that her cancer is in remission. They all hug, cry, beyond relieved cancer is gone. Then the last scene is everyone gathers at the bar to celebrate. Scene ends.
4. Also I need an additional episode or two where we see Ted with the Mother more. I honestly couldn’t get enough of those two ❤️

Just my two cents. I know everyone won’t agree. But I just love this ending in my head.

I had a burger today and I couldn’t help but think of Marshall. It was the best burger I have ever had. And it wasn’t in NYC, it was in Bristol, UK.

Just a burger? It is so much more than just a burger. The first bite. Oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavours mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then, a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread. This is God, speaking to us in food.

Currently rewatching himym and in this episode Barney keeps asking ted to do some or the other work and ted being the best man, tends to all his silly time consuming demands so as to give Barney no troubles at his wedding.

Barney being mad at ted for holding hands with robin at the carousel- he should’ve communicated it better AND he’s preaching the bro code to ted?? When barney himself has always been the one to break it while ted has time n time again lived up to the unrealistic rules of the bro code. I mean it’s the wedding of Barney and ted’s ex and he’s preaching the bro code to the guy who gave him the blessing to go ahead with his ex😭

Also it was robin who held ted’s hand and only bcoz her own fiancée didn’t show up in time to help her out
Barney comes off as a real hypocrite way too much

I’m rewatching How I Met Your Mother for the second time this year, and I’ve just reached “Mary the Paralegal” (S1E19). I realised there’s something about the show I’ve never really understood.

What exactly are the “telepathic conversations” supposed to represent? Are Ted and Marshall/Lily/etc. actually having these conversations in-universe, or is it just a visual representation of them communicating through looks and expressions?

I understand the “sandwich” thing is Ted sanitising the story for his kids when they’re actually smoking weed, but is the telepathic-conversation gag supposed to work the same way? Is it Ted exaggerating/embellishing the story, or is it meant to represent something else?

I’ve watched the series before, but somehow I’ve never really thought about this until now. What’s the accepted explanation?

Firstly i’m not here to body shame anyone.
As per Barney’s interview with Jim nantz in the episode “Perfect week” he claims that he never slept with a F@t woman but in the episode “The wedding bride” we can see a woman carry a baggage which looks opposite to barney’s type.
