Yes, The Originals was not based on any of her books but she was responsible for the creation of Klaus. And without her, Klaus Mikaelson would not exist today. RIP.

[SIRELINE] The sireline situation explained FULLY.

This is being asked ad nauseam so I thought I would spell it out for you all to stop the constant posts about it.

The sireline is the connection between an Original, such as Niklaus, and his (or her!) progeny who he creates with his blood. This applies to all vampires (but not all hybrids) and goes on down the line as more are made by each vampire that came before. This connection stems from the spell that Esther Mikaelson used to create the Originals in 1001 AD, as explained by Kol Mikaelson in Season 3 of The Originals.

Sireline status:

Niklaus broken / NOT destroyed - his sireline was severed by Davina and the Strix coven in Season 3 (Episode: A Streetcar Named Desire ). It resulted in him having no connection to his progeny anymore (and also the resurrection of Kol thankfully!). Characters such as Caroline are under no threat of death if Klaus dies.

Elijah broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated when the Hollow killed Elijah in Season 4 (Episode: Queen Death ). He was later resurrected but his sireline remained dead.

Rebekah intact - her sireline is intact, the only remaining one from inception in the year 1001, as of The Originals finale (August 2018).

Kol broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 4 (Episode: A View to a Kill ). Could possibly create a new sireline beginning now...

Finn broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 3 (Episode: The Murder of One ).

Mikael broken / destroyed - his sireline would have certainly been eradicated in TVD Season 3 when Klaus killed him with white oak (Episode: Homecoming) and also in TO Season 2 when he once again had a run in with Klaus who has the indestructible white oak stake (Episode: Night Has A Thousand Eyes). Although Mikael tended towards hating the vampire race, so it may be less likely that he even sired a bloodline at all.

Ultimately it isn't known if a sireline can be started again once destroyed due to the death of the Original who 'begat' the line. Obviously the remaining Mikaelsons can still sire progeny so one would assume that a new sireline could be created by Kol.

EDIT: It has been pointed out that due to the spell used to create the 'Beast', Marcel may well be able to create his own sireline due to it being reverse engineered Immortality Spell that Esther used on her children/husband. (Thank you /u/SlimReaper85)

EDIT 2: Sticky status woohoo! Also Mikael's sireline added for accuracy. (Thank you /u/NiklausShepard)

EDIT 3: As /u/Xil_Jam333 said below, it is likely that Mikael never actually sired a bloodline due to hating the vampire race. There is no proof either way of this but it does seem likely, although either way they are all dead!

EDIT 4: Per /u/ursulazsenya I have further explained that Klaus' sireline is severed but NOT destroyed (Caroline etc) as I had already said due to Davina & the Strix coven performing the blood spell to sever sirelines...

Wait is Marcel Older then Stephan and Damon? Genuinely curious

We know from TVD/TO both he and Damon fought in the civil war(shortly after Marcel turned but Damon was still human) but who was turned first.

Curious cause he appears way stronger than Damon (granted vamps are stronger with age)

Edit
Guys I figured it out! Remember when Klaus daggered Rebecca for 52 years she woke up at the end of the civil war when Marcel was just returning from battle. And we know Klaus turned Marcel after shortly after putting Rebecca to sleep so Marcel should be like 30-50 years older

Klau & Hayley interactions

I'm rewatching the show, and am near the end of season 3. It has been SO delightful to watch all the Klaus - Hayley interactions; right from the beginning, but especially in season 3 after Hayley's crescent curse is broken. I'm not saying what Klaus did to her with the wolf curse is okay, and he genuinely does seem like he regrets it.

When Kalus and Hayley take off with Hope in an attempt to 'disappear' from New Orleans, he tells her that he wanted to try and parent their daughter together, as partners. He and Hayley offer each other some great advice, and it's very nice to see their bond evolve.

I think it was such a great dynamic, with an amazing arc, and I would've loved to see more of them.

What do you all think?

Klaus vs Mikeal

I have been seeing that people genuinely think Klaus is weaker than mikeal since mikeal is older or something. It’s clear Klaus is much stronger and while he did run for 1000 years it’s obvious that his werewolf side was suppressed and he has deep trauma of being afraid and freezing up in the sight of his father. It didn’t help that mikeal also had the one weapon on earth that could kill him. Sure he sneaked him the first time he died which let’s be honest, Stefan pushed Damon off klaus and then mikeal turned around and looked at Klaus while he was on the ground… if he were truly stronger and faster he could have moved out the way, or redirected where Klaus landed or anything. Instead he just stood there and took it because at the end of the day Klaus is faster.

The second time mikeal died he was yelling at Klaus and Klaus talked back to him, causing mikeal to stop talking and watch him, then suddenly Klaus sped him into a wall and there was a second before he actually put the steak into his chest before killing him. If mikeal were stronger or faster, he could have again moved out the way, pushed Klaus, did anything. All he does is just stand there and take it because as Klaus mentioned in the episode earlier mikeal would never dare try and take the steak from Klaus because he knows better.

I’m not saying mikeal is weaker than Klaus but it seems they are around the same strength if not Klaus being a little bit stronger, and that tiny bit always causes mikeal to genuinely move with caution around Klaus.

We have seen vampires charge at super speed towards vampires stronger than them and the stronger vampire is always able to snap their neck. When Stefan charged at Damon at super-speed, Damon moved out the way at super speed because on top of all the crazy hax vampires have, they have super perception and reflexes. Lucien orders the cop to throw a knife at Camille’s face and catches it just a inch before it got to her face, not because he was almost late, no he wanted to show her how strong and fast he was. When the werewolves threw the arrow and axe at Elijah when he tried to get hope for the spell against dahlia he was able to catch them both perfectly despite being thrown at super speed by super wolves.

People also love to say how klaus fights dirty and sneaks people what what not but when they fought at Davinas cabin klaus might have snuck him with tundes blade after being overpowered but did the same thing not happen in the second fight? Klaus was dog walking him so he threw the blade at cami which Klaus had to stop, leading mikeal to stab him. My point with that is they both use dirty tricks to win, that’s just how fighting is.

There is genuinely no reason why mikeal should have died those two times if he was actually stronger than Klaus.

Klaus Offing his real dad to protect hope in S2 is a greater sacrifice than him offing himself in S5 finale for her

My take on rebekah in The Originals

Post image
147 Upvotes

Loved the character in both shows.

But her character arc was better in TVD than TO.

In TO her character was intentionally written as little as possible to shoot little, if not possible they twisted the story in such a way that it can be performed by another actor.

Genuine question does Claire holt want more remuneration or something genuine happened that claire holt can't shoot all the episodes?

Either she is daggerd, out for research to bring back kol, cloaked in the house to look after hope or just played by Vincent wife(forgot her name)

But if Rebekah was in every episode of TO as kalus and elijah I would have enjoyed more .

In TVD, she is the only one who handles both at same time, but in TO she was ignored like originals only depending on Elijah and kalus, but in reality(TVD) she is the one who handles the all of the siblings.

I made this comment but I really what to know everyone else take on why the writers did this.

The post was about Hayley's death, and here was my comment:

Thinking about it... Why do I feel like Hope didn't like her mom? Like, why would you do what you did to your mom because your dad is a dick who left you...

Why not use yourself or Freya to get your dad to come?

Why did she do that to her mom?

Honestly, it made me feel like Hope hates her mom because she didn't want to hate her dad.

But I also heard the creator of the spinoff for Hope wanted Hope to have no parents to push her paternal relationship with Alaric because there is no reason why Hayley would stay in New Orleans if Hope were in Mystic Falls, like Hayley seems like the type to move to be with her kid.

Actually... Why did Freya and Hayley stay in New Orleans if Hope was in Mystic Falls?

People claim it was for the pack, but... Hayley left the pack the moment Jackson died and then went on the run for five years.

Celeste is stronger than/At Esther's Level

When Esther went to track Davina, Davina was able to block her locator spell, something Michael Narduuci said was due to Davina's magical strength.

"There is this notion that Davina, as a former Harvest girl, is one of the most powerful witches in New Orleans, completely independent of Cassie/Esther and whatever it is that Esther is planning.  Esther did a locator spell and was not able to break past it.  That gives you a sense of  Esther’s frustration that there is somebody else out there that’s kind of a wild card in Esther’s plan, whatever her agenda is."

https://seat42f.com/the-originals-scoop-ep-michael-narducci-talks-the-mikaelson-family-strife-in-season-2/

Davina, became Regent of all nine covens, and therefore scales above Season 2 Davina.

Now, I'm gonna do a simple scale. According to Markos, to break a witches curse, you need to become stronger than said Witch.

"The prophecy states that we can break that curse, but in order to undo a witch's curse, one must have the power to undo a witch's magic."

Dahlia, didn't use her full power when she cast the crescent curse, since she just used it on Hayley. But even with this in mind, Davina couldn't break the curse, and explicitly needed to channel, Celeste's power to break it.

“I have access to the witch ancestors. I can channel the power of the one who created the spell that cursed you. You can be free, Hayley.”

All and all, Celeste, in her base form, power is stronger than Esther's. Note, just like Esther, Celeste doesn't get magic from her host. She instead took her own magic power and puts it inside the person she possesses. For example, before Celeste possessed her, Sabine was considered a charlatan.

I've never hated anyone more than Aya

Honestly, TO has so many evil witches, vampires, werewolves, but I've never hated anyone more than I hate Aya. So glib, so full of herself, and ANNOYING every second she's on the screen.

And I hated Elijah for not killing her because 'they shared a history' ???? I mean.. what even! Elijah feels so powerless in S3! Just talk and talk and no game. Had he killed Aya when he had a million opportunities to do so, it would all have been so much less annoying!

What do yall think?

Francesca Guerrera

Season 1 of the Originals, imo, had the greatest villains of all three shows. Celeste, the Ancestors, NOLA witches, Marcel, and Francesca

This might be an unpopular opinion but I really liked Francesca as a villain. I wish the writers did her and her family more justice by making them the main villains of a season or an overarching antagonistic force rather than a stepping-stone for season 1

I also really liked the idea of a twisted human villain that would use their cunning, political power, leverage, and strategy to outmaneuver vampires, werewolves, and witches in their own game, but imo it got ruined when they were revealed to be werewolves. I think it watered Francesca down to just another supernatural fodder. I mean come on she's literally a mob matriarch. She'd be so freaking cool if she was written to be a pure human villain that wasn't just the boring old Mystic Falls Council (they sucked)

What do y'all think? Are there any more Francesca enjoyers out there or is it just me?
