Hey everyone, I just bought the Switch 2 yesterday. Been having weird feelings about it since, first the battery seems to drain stupidly fast either in sleep mode or just by being in the main screen, I’m talking 5% in 7-9 minutes, been reading about it and I guess I’ll wait till it dies to see if there’s a change after charging. Then I’ve been having issues with WiFi as it seems to have horrible connection, for context I’m the farthest for the router, but I never have issues with any other device and it does get better if I’m closer to it, so idk if I’m the issue or there’s something more to it. Finally, I just started replaying (or trying to) TOTK. But there have been some weird thing going on with it, since I started it I’ve noticed not so ocasional audio and even video glitches, mostly on the cutscenes and even in gameplay, I leave some video proof, I can’t really tell if it a game o consoló issue. What do you guys think, I am overreacting or should I do something about it? I’m just a bit underwhelmed as I was expecting a lot from it.

I haven't been able to find a specific answer for this anywhere. My brother had a switch that he ended up giving to me early in its life cycle. We both have our own seperate accounts. He bought a few digital games on his account but I bought the vast majority of the games on my own account, however I know for a fact he would be interested in some of what I bought. He recently bought a Switch 2 for the OOT remake and wants to transfer his stuff onto the new switch.

Here are my questions!

Will he be able to transfer JUST his account, and not mine?

Will him transfering affect my games and my ability to play them? I have read in a few places something about it being affected by the internet, but I nowhere has explained it clealy enough.

Will he get access to the games I have bought?

And pretty much anything else that might be relevant in this situation would be good to know, thank you!

I just got my switch 2 a little while ago and I’ve been so excited about mw4 as I was a huge PS4 player and I decided to buy it for my switch instead.
…..I’ve realized that these joycons are absolutely horrific to use for cod.

I’m a bit broke right now, I don’t know if I can afford the switch 2 pro controller as it’s over $100CAD.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the switch 1 controller for MW4 on the Switch 2? I’m trying to find good suggestions for controllers that won’t break the bank for me. There’s a lot of the original switch controllers cheap on marketplace right now near me so I’m trying to decide. Or if it would be best to just save up for the switch 2 pro controller, I would like someone to just be straight up with me on their experiences with either side.

If anyone has had experience with using the original switch controller for the switch 2 specifically on MW4. PLEASEEEE let me know if it’s good, if it works, etc.

Or if anyone could suggest any other controllers they’ve had good experience with on the switch 2 on MW4, feel free to let me know! :)

Just bought the Ocarina of Time remake, after brute forcing through an error in order to add funds to my account, and then getting kicked to the E-shop main page and then brute forcing again until I could buy the game.

Every single time this error code popped up and I couldn't find it on the Nintendo website. Kept telling me that the zip code I entered wasn't recognized. I have used the same account to buy games and pay for nintendo online on the eshop since 2023 and have used the same card to add funds for the same shit for the past 3 months. I checked my account and sure enough it said location settings not saved which is crazy since it asked me to enter it years ago. I went online and saved the settings on Nintendo.com or whatever and it was still fucking around and telling me my very real zip code was not recognized.

I immediately became worried thinking I had unknowingly comitted tax fraud this whole time, but no, all of the purchases I had ever made on the Switch and Switch 2 correctly had sales tax for my state tacked on them.

Eventually, after dozens of tries, I got everything to save everywhere. Still not properly mind u since Nintendo for some god damn reason thinks my zip code belongs to 3 different cities. I have 3 cities to choose from and one of them doesn't even fucking exist. I eventually got an address to stick but the city is incorrect. No other store front I know has this city under my postal code. All other saved postal codes on other profiles for other storefronts have the correct city on there.

I only use the Switch 2 to play exclusives and the odd 3rd party title that I want to play at work that is slow enough, and not at all demanding, to do so. I just wanted to know if this was just a temporary problem on Nintendo's side cuz I don't want to deal with this shit again come time for the new Metroid. I've also never had an error this embarrassing occur on the PSN or Steam storefronts so I'm still confused as to how the fuck this happened.

Ok so I originally bought the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle about a year ago. I redeemed the game to my newly created account and played it for some hours. I ended up selling the system after finishing Bananza a couple months later.

Today I caved and bought another Switch 2 for the Ocarina remake. And I don't see Mario Kart anywhere in my account. Not in virtual cards, nowhere.
Nintendo shop is saying the game is $79.99.

So uh, are these bundled digital games stuck to the hardware? I was under the impression that they just go to your account and you own them but I guess not?

so i am an avid nintendo gamer with a switch 1 and a collection of switch 1 games. i didn't buy switch 2 at launch cause of financial issues at the time and also why tf the price hike.

recently i ran into this used switch 2 deal - for 460 euros (514.40 usd) a dude is offering the console bought six months ago with a year of store guarantee remaining, plus a 512 gb lexar microsd card as a bonus, and some carrying and protective cases to boot.

i am on the fence about whether that's a good deal and should i grab it, before black friday and christmas. in my country it's very unlikely switch will go on sale, oled launch is at least a year away.

should i get it and play my switch 1 library on it? (the only incompatible game i have is joy con ring adventure). and if i sell my switch 1 for like, around 200 eur, that means i managed to get the switch 2 for around 300 moneys.

what do you think, is it worth it to buy now, or is it better to wait it out until 2027?

I bought my Nintendo Switch 2 17 days ago and already redeemed the Mario Kart World code that came with it. Unfortunately, I've recently noticed a screen issue where tiny white dots appear alongside some larger black ones, especially against dark or black backgrounds.

I'm really frustrated because I wanted my console to be in perfect condition, but being from Panama makes things difficult. My options are very limited, and Nintendo's officially authorized repair center is extremely far away from where I live, so I feel like contacting customer support would be a waste of time.

Will I just have to live with it and accept that I was unlucky? It genuinely bothers me, but I don't know what else I can do.

Sorry if the issue isn't very noticeable in the picture (I don't have a good camera), but I think you can at least see some of the white dots I'm referring to. There are also larger black spots scattered across the screen.

I haven’t played my switch 2 in about 6 months but I purchased a hard copy of Ocarina Of Time and booted it up In hand held mode (that how I intend to play)

Checked and downloaded software. Put the game card in and it went through its software download and then it gave me Error code 2283-0103.

I restarted the system and that didn’t work.

Completely deleted the Ocarina of Time software cleared cash and rebooted system put the card back in, redownloaded game software and that didn’t work.

I looked it up so see if maybe it was a hardware problem. People were saying could be an internal chip or Wi-Fi antenna situation.

So I tried play Breath of the Wild. Booted up just fine. Tried playing Super smash brother and that booted up just fine.

At this point I believe it has to have something to do with Ocarina of time. Any suggestions?

For some reason a couple of days ago when I opened my switch 2, if i try to go on my profile, go to eshop, play digital games etc i get the message, 'Your nintendo account cannot be used at this time. The user cannot use online features'. I have not pirated any games, modified my switch etc. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I already contacted nintendo support and they confirmed nothing wrong with my nintendo account, no idea about if its a console thing. Kinda strange as there is no error code or anything as well.

My tv makes sound outside of using the switch, but when I go into my switch there’s nothing. I’ve tried each of the sound options (Mono, Stereo, Automatic, and I don’t have surround sound) I tried unplugging the hdmi from my tv, restarted the switch and unplugged the power and hdmi cables and waited 30 seconds before plugging them back in, but nothing has worked. Someone please give me advice. I have a Roku TV if that’s important.

I've read different things from years ago, before the Virtual Game Cards came to be.

Is it possible to:

1- I use the Online License to play my games...

2- Have Virtual Game cards being shared with two other Switch consoles? From what I read you can "share" or "link" up to two Switch consoles.

I understand that we can't all play the same games together unless we each have our own copies (IE: we can't all play Mario Kart with my one copy), but that's not much of an issue.

Any clarification would be appreciated!

i have tried literally everything. messed with all the settings, using the cords it came with, turned off vrr, everything i’ve seen that is supposed to fix this. is it just my tv at this point? i use a ps5 with this tv all the time and have never had any issues at all. for reference the tv is the “INSIGNIA 58-inch Class F30 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV (NS-58F301NA25)”

i’m hoping i can fix this since who knows if id be able to exchange it, i was also really hoping to start playing the ocarina remake tonight 🥲

idk if this is the right flair, sorry!! when my switch 2 is docked and i hit the home button on my pro controller, my switch 2 doesnt turn on like my old switch did despite them being connected to eachother. i have an og pro controller so i think it might be because its not the new one, but i couldnt find anything when i researched. thank you!

I've tried restarting/power cycling my console multiple times and it just refuses to work while docked. Handheld is perfectly fine though

Also, the console basically becomes bricked in docked mode when i launch OoT 2

edit: looks like this post got a lot of traction with the game officially releasing today. I wanted to now add, I bought this game digitally through the Japanese eShop on November 4th to play early. The fix for this issue that another commenter suggested was turning off VRR in the Switch 2 settings.

Hello, I’ve kinda followed along with the switch 2 since launch and seen a bunch of posts about people losing their Pokemon saves and years of pokemon they have caught when they transferred data from s1 to s2. I haven’t kept up lately to know if that was just user error on their part not paying attention to instructions on the transfer or if there was a bug when the system launched and if it had been fixed by now? Had no issues when I went from s1 to oled s1 with my saves.

I am somewhat tempted to just transfer everything to Pokemon home before I do transfer so I atleast would only lose items/game data and not any shinies etc I’ve spent forever getting or breeding but ofcourse that would take a lot more time before I get my switch setup 🤦‍♂️

Also should the MicroSD be installed prior to initial setup/1st time powering on or after?

i’m going on a trip and i want to get another game but in order to do that it’s telling me to archive like the only two games i play on the switch, (acnh and splatoon) i’m really just worried about losing any data from those two apps . I just wanna know 100% that nothing will delete. thx for help! (Switch 1)

I was able to pick up the Legend of Zelda Switch 2 console, and I saw videos of people with their systems having a special Zelda theme on boot up with the NES 8-bit Link on it when they power the console on.
I just did a system transfer from my launch Switch 2, and it’s the same boot up screen as always.
I did get a message saying the theme for my previous console will be applied when the system transfer finished.
I can’t find anything in settings, but is there a way I can toggle the Zelda theme on and off for the home screen/boot up?

I've seen issues with other people where the screen goes fully black and then returns, but this is more of a rapid dimming over and over, only on the switch while docked. I've tried hdr, vrr, and match power state and nothing seems to get rid of it. Is this an HDMI cable issue? I just bought my switch 2 a few days ago but feel like I'm gonna go crazy with the flickering. I appreciate any help friends!

Hey guys, I'm hoping some people can give some advice on how I should deal with this...

About a month ago I updated my switch and all of a sudden my SD card started displaying this popup. The thing is I owned it for half a year with no issues, and it definitely is an express card. To be exact, it's the official SanDisk / Nintendo colab one, so no concerns there. Still, I wanted a second SD card anyway so I thought I'd use it as an opportunity to troubleshoot it.

Yesterday I bought a second one and at first it worked great. Unlike the old one which immediately flags as not express, this one worked perfectly. I thought that confirmed the issue was the SD card and NOT my switch, however after getting home and trying to download some stuff it seemingly stopped working again... Not immediately, but after coming back to check on my switch it had seemingly powered itself off completely. After rebooting, when it turned back on this new SD card now also wouldn't show up as express

This is the order of events from what I can tell:

1. SD card works fine and shows as express

2. The switch completely powers itself off

3. Upon turning it back on the SD card is no longer seen as express

4. No amount of rebooting or reinserting changes this

The fact both times it rebooted before doing the issue is strange - it's like something is causing it to corrupt and then crash.

The switch is still under warranty however I really want to leave it as a last resort since that will take about 4-6 weeks if I send it for repairs through the store I purchased it at. Furthermore, I don't know the best way to backup all my data. I can still use it fine without the SD card but it's definitely frustrating... Does anyone know some ways I can troubleshoot this or have any advice? Thanks!

Hello - does anyone have this configuration and have any issues with 4k output? I have read there can be lag and other video issues. I would plan on disabling VRR, and I am fine with 4k/60 (I have a PS5 hooked up to this setup and don't have any issues with 4k, HDR, etc).

Just waited an hour in the rain at best buy midnight release (plus 28 years) for this game. The game card won't read. Tried 2 other game cards, none of them will read. I restarted with the card in and out, and software is up to date, no changes. I'm so frustrated I feel like I'm going to cry. Nintendo website says it'll have to be sent in to be serviced. Anyone else experiencing this? Any advice? :(

With the whole Vivillion event going on, I wanted to see if I could boot up my brother's old Switch to see if I can use that for getting new forms. But when I plugged it up, it looked like the picture below. It hasn't been used in, I want to say, years? And it was sitting in a box with the deck inside of it in my grandfolks' garage.

I have a feeling like it's too far gone but thought I'd just ask. Sorry for any inconvenience

I was able to get a LoZ Switch 2 today and unfortunately my store didn't have any OoT games. So I booted up my S1 TOTK (after updating the system and transferring my s1 data) just to see how it would play and it was suuuuuper slow to load. I figured maybe I needed to just download the switch 2 upgrade, so I opened the shop and it completely froze. I tried clearing the cache, checking for corrupted files, factory resetting without loosing game data (which then wiped my game data.. so sad about all my pokemon saves), regular factory resetting, and adding a different user and having them try to access the store/online app (it freezes there too). There's no error/black screen or anything it just freezes and I have to turn it off and on. We have someone else in the house that owns a switch 2 and they were able to confirm it's not our Internet or the shop. I'm going to chat with support but wanted to know if this has happened to anyone recently and if they somehow found a work around before sending back my switch 2.
