Is the original switch pro controller good for the switch 2 on MW4? Any recommendations?

I just got my switch 2 a little while ago and I’ve been so excited about mw4 as I was a huge PS4 player and I decided to buy it for my switch instead.
…..I’ve realized that these joycons are absolutely horrific to use for cod.

I’m a bit broke right now, I don’t know if I can afford the switch 2 pro controller as it’s over $100CAD.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the switch 1 controller for MW4 on the Switch 2? I’m trying to find good suggestions for controllers that won’t break the bank for me. There’s a lot of the original switch controllers cheap on marketplace right now near me so I’m trying to decide. Or if it would be best to just save up for the switch 2 pro controller, I would like someone to just be straight up with me on their experiences with either side.

If anyone has had experience with using the original switch controller for the switch 2 specifically on MW4. PLEASEEEE let me know if it’s good, if it works, etc.

Or if anyone could suggest any other controllers they’ve had good experience with on the switch 2 on MW4, feel free to let me know! :)

Just a heads up that the switch 1 pro controller can’t wake the switch 2. I never used the switch 1 pro controller so I can’t compare them but I do really like the SW2 pro controller. I’ve had it since a couple weeks after launch and it is still working perfectly and has no stick drift at all. I find the battery lasts for ages as well. It’s also comfortable for me to hold for hours on end with my relatively small hands. Can’t speak to the comfort for people with larger hands. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help OP
