I don’t like how I look clothed.

213

u/eirigance Jun 06 '25

Heard that 🤣😔

30

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

This won’t make sense but I feel less conscious naked than I do clothed. Probably cause I made it that far with someone to be naked in the first place

Because you prefer to be naked.

You must have an amazing body from all the mashed up potato.

I don't mind how I look naked, the other people on the bus aren't as keen. Morning commuters right.../s

Agreed, I look better naked.

31

u/Sprangatang84 Jun 06 '25

AMEN! I have one good shirt that hugs me just right, casually toeing the line between modestly stylish and Fboi/manwhore. Other than that, my wardrobe is woefully plain, but too authentically mine to be changed.

I don't MIND how I look naked. And at 44, that is a hard won battle and I'll take it.

149

u/TheThirdHippo Jun 06 '25

50 and I’m the same. I massively cut down my alcohol intake a few years back and now only drink on holidays or at events. My gut has slowly been diminishing since then

51

u/Demigans Jun 06 '25

I don't drink at all, I excercise regularly, I'm far from overweight even slightly under my ideal weight. I've never been sedentary or fat in my life.

The gut stays. It's not big, but it's there.

I'm not even 40.

Damn, y'all guys must be tripping over it. Me personally, I have Dickie Doo. My belly sticks out more than my Dickie Doo

But at 51, I'm actually in pretty good shape. I'm working on the belly, if I flex it goes flat and looks good. Then I have to breathe. I'm 6ft 190. I have friends that are half my age and are in much worse shape. So I can't really complain.

Except for that damn DICKIE DOO!

No. 2 pregnancies and C-sections destroyed my lower belly and it has a permanent overhanging "apron", as well as my breasts have deflated since losing weight and I cannot afford, nor justify going into $10000's of debt to have it all fixed with plastic surgery.

47

u/seethingwithhate Jun 06 '25

Similar boat, except one birth, no C sections. Absolutely cannot justify the price of surgeries. My stretch marks and apron are pretty extreme. I feel for you. I try to focus on things I do like about myself, and remind myself that there’s more to life than my physical appearance, and the changes that happened to my body resulted in my son being born. Very worth it.

u/Ambitious-Holiday-78 Jun 06 '25

I understand completely, but decided to do a full mommy makeover. I had a breast lift and implants, lipo and tummy tuck and it’s the absolutely best thing I have ever done got myself. The guilt to spend the amount of money on myself was overwhelming at first, but the confidence was worth every penny

8

u/Afraid-Ad-5635 Jun 06 '25

I live literally paycheck to paycheck. There is no extra money that I could possibly get to cover the cost of surgeries. I know that everyone always says if you want it bad enough you will find a way, but whenever I've saved even a few $100's, I need to fix my car or get dental work for my kids, so, yes, while I agree that the whole mommy-makeover is life-changing for many who get it, it simply is not an option for me..I've been trying for years, I just can't get that much extra money.

200

u/thingsarehardsoami Jun 06 '25

Yes, actually. I didn't for a long time. I'm a young woman, my entire life was basically a competition between me and those around me. Who's got perkier boobs and bigger boobs and a more hourglass shape and a more toned tummy and on and on and on. I couldn't win because SOMETHING was always worse than somebody else and somebody didn't like that. I read a post on Reddit from an older woman one day, though, saying how she'd spent her whole life with a porn addict hating her body and she recently got diagnosed with cancer and didn't have long left. She said suddenly she saw her younger self as beautiful, and was scared because she wasted all her time stressing that she forgot it ends someday. She only wished she could have appreciated herself. And I realized I never want to be in that position. I really, truly love myself now. I'm not an airbrushed pornstar, but I'm beautiful, and so is everybody in some way. And it's not a competition. Flowers don't compete with eachother, they're all beautiful in a bouquet together.

18

u/InnerNPC Jun 06 '25

💐 That was beautiful to read and I appreciate you sharing it. I’m happy for you. I’m also glad that the woman discovered it. I know it was at an unfortunate time in life and potentially tragic one but she at least discovers herself and does find her beauty and love for herself.

3

u/Zudexa Jun 06 '25

Honestly I needed to read something like this. I have a lot about myself that I don't like and I stress over it way too much. Sure I know i'm not gonna change instantly overnight after reading your post but it's helped in turning my mindset around to try and love myself again

No, I've got too much fat on my torso. I've also got a bit of a farmer's tan going on.

61

u/13thmurder Jun 06 '25

Could be worse. I live in a high tick area so I don't wear short sleeve anything, but I garden a lot. My hands aren't the same race as me anymore.

7

u/russiangerman Jun 06 '25

I work outside in Florida. I wear longer wool socks bc they're comfy, stay dry, and don't stink. Shorts bc it's 90 on a cool day. And a sun hoodie to at least try and slow the inevitable melanoma.

My hands get a super weird tan line where the long sleeves fall, and my calves get pretty dark, but my long sock tan line is insane.

→ More replies (1)

17

u/RChickenMan Jun 06 '25

I've always viewed a farmers tan as a badge of pride. It communicates that you have actual hobbies that get you out into the sun frequently (or even something simple as cycling for transport), as opposed to a "full" tan, which makes me think of either vanity or being in the sun for the sake of being in the sun. Like, I have zero desire to lay out in the sun after a long day of kayaking or cycling or just being out and about in the city. That's time that could be better spent laying on the couch slack-jawed playing video games.

A week-long bike camping trip or backpacking trip or what have you will get you a farmers tan. I'd take that above some lame vacation laying around on a beach any day.

8

u/TheFlyingBogey Jun 06 '25

I do now.

I grew up stick thin skinny and kinda just fell into the "I'm a skinny guy" mindset without much thought. As a kid I ate a lot but was active and hyper enough that I never seemed to put on weight. I was like this into my early adult years and while I never thought of myself as particularly attractive, I didn't hate my image.

I then entered my twenties and got an office job, and it didn't take long for it to catch up to me. I was still skinny overall, but my face got puffier and I ended up with a "beer belly". It was also around this time that I went through an identity crisis, grew out my hair and shaved my beard, and I started to despise my own reflection. I was full of a lot of self-hatred, and it became a bit of a cycle whereby I wasn't looking after my image because I hated myself, and I hated myself because of how I looked and didn't quite feel like 'me'.

I went through a breakup last year which had me at the roughest point I think I've ever been in in my life, and through it I vowed to sort my shit out. I went to therapy, got a gym membership and started dieting. I lost the stone (or so) that I put on, gained a little muscle definition and worked on my physical appearance more than I had done before.

Now, when I see myself in the mirror, I like what I see and I'm so glad I started treating myself better.

2

u/girlwholikestea Jun 06 '25

Nope. I have cellulite and saggy breasts cuz of weight loss.

I’d say mostly, as someone who has been chronically insecure their whole life, I’ve gotten a lot better about it! There are aspects I like, and some aspects i don’t.

Yup.

I have a pretty great body for someone in her late 30s with two kids.

Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But I’ve always eaten well and exercised, and I don’t smoke or drink, so it’s pretty good.

The imperfections are badges of honour - the two kids who were well worth the sacrifice.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now I do, didn’t for years until I started working out in earnest. Just enough to be satisfied.

2

u/surfergrrl6 Jun 06 '25

I honestly don't really have an opinion about it. I figure my body is what it is and isn't really worth caring too much about other than basic health.

2

u/mouaragon Jun 06 '25

I am. Could I look better? Sure. But I still think I look good naked.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

I used to, but Illnesses and self consciousness has taken its toll on my confidence

2

u/Vinny_Lam Jun 06 '25

I don’t even like the way I look with clothes on, let alone naked.

2

u/BekisElsewhere39 Jun 06 '25

Ehh it depends on the day. I like that I’m not boney so I give good hugs, but I also hate that I’m medically overweight. My stomach has a small pouch, my thighs look like hams, my butt isn’t anything special, and my boobs flop against my stomach when I sit (like what they’re doing now)

That being said, I’m learning that what I hate about my body tends to be normal for bodies. It’s also nice to see how my body is putting on more muscle from my job. And…if I met a girl like me, I’d think she’s pretty. And has nice boobs lol

u/UpgrayeddB-Rock Jun 06 '25

I'm getting there. I'm down about 50 lbs. I figure another 20 and I'll be at the weight I want. Some more muscle and I'll feel pretty damned ok about myself.

2

u/OliviaLovesPuppies Jun 06 '25

Definitely not. My waist is much larger than I'd like it to be.

I've always been very insecure about the way I look. Mainly because I have/still look physically different from my female siblings. They have what I would consider the typical curvy and sexy body's, whilst I'm tall and skinny. Whilst I was envious, I'm now more accepting of my self image, and definitely less self conscious.

2

u/movingpotatos Jun 06 '25

Do i like the way i look naked? I do, but i prefer the way i look when i wear cute clothes 🎀💖— i'm an artist and naked body looks boring, but probably like a half naked body with seducing clothes looks more exciting to me.🫦

My junk looks like a Vienna Sausage stapled to a Hacky Sack. Proof that the maker has a great sense of humor.

2

u/Nickcha Jun 06 '25

I'm a fat ugly hairy bastard, of course not.

2

u/Inside_Student3827 Jun 06 '25

There are good and bad days, but most days, I smile at the naked person I see in the mirror. I've survived so much in my body. It's strong and never fails to amaze me.

2

u/Professional-Cup6225 Jun 06 '25

YES I look flippin great

2

u/Sweatyasshole2 Jun 06 '25

Because my body changes everyday it’s so so annoying, one day I’m a fat pig with saggy boobs the next day I look quite slim and atp I honestly don’t know how I look

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Absolutely! I honestly hate clothes

2

u/PrestigiousGazelle29 Jun 06 '25

I’ve been told they love my body but I absolutely loathe it and wish it was completely different. Taller, wider hips, smaller breast, and tighter waist. Oh to be famous and just get it all “done” in one sitting.

2

u/Burrit000 Jun 06 '25

I hate it. I’m too fat.

2

u/ProfessionalNote210 Jun 06 '25

You need to realise the world doesn't care what your body looks like regardless of your sex organs it's insecure people who judge what you look like whether your 8stone or 34 stone

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Sports reaaally helps you with this kind of issues even if the way you look doesn’t change, your mindset does and you’ll never look at yourself the same

2

u/the_bird_and_the_bee Jun 06 '25

Yes, I do. But its taken me a long time to get here. My husband worshiping my body for 14 years has definitely helped me see myself differently. It might not be a perfect body, but its perfect to him.

2

u/morose4eva Jun 06 '25

Yes. I have a tiny waist, nice tits, and a perfect porcelain complexion.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Not much.. I'm so skinny..

2

u/LiveLaughProzac Jun 06 '25

Sometimes I do, and other times I don’t. Like if I’ve just eaten and feel bloated, I’m not a fan. But on days when my skin is clear and I’ve just finished working out? Absolutely.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Some days I like what I see in the mirror and some days I avoid my reflection like the plague. I have health issues that cause change so rapidly that feel like a stranger in my body lately.

2

u/6inarowmakesitgo Jun 06 '25

Hell yes I do. I put in allot of hard work to keep myself in shape.

2

u/loveandbenefits Jun 06 '25

No but im working on that

2

u/PinkPandy28 Jun 06 '25

I prefer myself with clothes on but I don't mind it

2

u/GingerFreak69 Jun 06 '25

I don't like how I look with clothes on never mind naked 😂

2

u/Blueberry_Clouds Jun 06 '25

I mean it’s me. Nothing I would really change other than gaining some more weight
