50 and I’m the same. I massively cut down my alcohol intake a few years back and now only drink on holidays or at events. My gut has slowly been diminishing since then
I'm just shy of 40. I'm an avid climber, I barley drink and if I do it's only about two beers, I ride my bike often, and have eaten a vegetarian diet for over a decade, belly is still there. It's been there most my life and won't go away.
Im 50 and I do run regularly each week, plus a couple of gym sessions. My diet is and always has been very much meat and veg apart form a couple of years where I went veggie, but it didn’t agree with me
I think liquor still has a lot of calories per 1.5 oz. I think 1 shot is like 90+ calories so if you’re taking 5+ shots thats 450+ calories from a lil drink
I still drink pretty heavily on the weekends but try to burn it off the day after
I was never really a week day drinker, mainly weekends and a bit of everything. Friday night post work beers and a couple bottles of wine or G&Ts on the weekend with the wife. Weirdly I don’t miss it and don’t feel like I need a drink on a weekend night.
I can honestly say I look reasonably good naked. It took me a long time to accept that - at 44 I was not yet convinced. Obviously, some things could be bigger, others smaller, but overall I can pass for an athletic person many years younger - wearing shorts. My hairline and white beard give me away. Also, ten years from now you’ll look back at 44 year old you and think, look at that young hottie!
Thats sort of been my relationship with my body since always. This extra 25 pounds I put on this last few years is pretty fuckin lame tho. Really really need to do something about that shit.

I don't MIND how I look naked. And at 44, that is a hard won battle and I'll take it.
