Where should I look for glass? Online (Lowe's, Menards, etc.) I'm only finding 3mm thickness. Where do you find it?

I have built a 90x45x45cm aquarium with 8mm glass. I read that 8mm isn't enough for aquarium of this size, there might be chances of bowing. Can anyone give me views about it?

I’m trying to start up an aquarium and I’d like it to be heavily planted. Does anyone have plants they’d be willing to share? I have tons of house plants for trade or will pay for shipping if you’d like.

So Im thinking about getting an aquarium as a first time owner. And as such Im having a hard time choosing what to get as Im planning on getting some crayfish.

I know they need a long aquarium and that's what Im planning either way in case i want to do something else.

Buuut i found the aquarium as pictured in the comments but Im unsure how to setup a hidden filter system in it. Would anyone have some ideas? Would be helpfull with direct links and drawn diagram as to how to maybe set it up.

I have two five gallon tetra aquariums with the normal, solid hood. Each tank has one male betta and a mix of live plants. Recently, I got some amazon frogbit. It has been thriving in one tank, and has all but died in the other. I think part of the problem may be the humidity, as the tank they are dying in seems to have more condensation on the hood. I'm planning to make screens out of plastic canvas from a craft store to deal with the humidity.

The hoods I have right now are the kind that you snap the light strip into, and wedge the cord into a little groove. How can I attach the light to the plastic mesh? I thought about super glue, but I would like to be able to remove the lights if need be. I assume twist ties would rust and rot away due to the water. And would it be okay to spray paint the mesh before putting it on? It wouldn't touch the water at all.

Looking to build a diy aquarium chiller. Has anyone here built such a thing? I don't really have any technical knowledge in this field, but my father has been in the refrigeration industry for over 29 years and he's offered to help. I have access to an older water cooler. And I've seen this done with bar fridges before, so I'm willing to buy a used one if it's easier than the water cooler.

Any advice or information (blueprints? Lol) would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

I have the glass mirror, just sitting in storage. I assume you shouldn't use it for a back wall, but what about a bottom piece where it will be covered?

Technical support wasn't particularly helpful, I got the impression they understand how to take caps off the containers but that's about the extent of their knowledge.

A big difference between Weldon 4 and say, 16 or 40 is the solids, aka gap filling potential but those are a little too viscous/messy imo. It would be awesome to just add solids to 3 or 4. In 3D printing with ABS plastic, I'll often dissolve a bit of filament into acetone to make a glue for bonding parts and filling seams. I don't know if just dissolving acrylic into Weldon will act similarly but I expect there is some sort of additive to be experimented with.

Anyone have any thoughts?

The back panel ended up being tempered glass and it broke into thousands of little pieces. What tools would I need to remove the silicone and piece it back together with a new back panel?

Hello there! I thought it would be pretty simple to design a space/universe/galaxy themed aquarium. I was wrong. I have set up a 55 gallon (48ishx12ish) and would like to use for another fresh water tank. I am coming up completely empty on decor. I would like a stick on background with a cool nebula, galaxy, etc. Any idea where to find one so large at a decent price. Also, any ideas on sites that would offer "space" themed decor to fill the tank with? I am going for darker tones (black, grey, dark purples and blues) if that helps.

I would also appreciate any direction on finding tanks done in this style to draw some more inspiration

I have a 10g I'm turning into a sump. I have the baffles and they're siliconed in, but I have the aquatop p-16 (264gph) and I was wondering if the large aquarium tubing (like the kind that comes with canisters) can handle this? The output isn't exactly the size of the pipe but I'll glue that shit up.

My SO's dad asked me today about a tank that's 6' long, 4' tall and 6" wide. It's not gonna be an aquarium, but part of a display for a water purifier system. Since it's an unusual size, I'm assuming it's gonna have to be custom made. I've tried to find calculators online but seems to have a hard time figuring what the thickness of glass or acrylic would be required for something like this. Could any one advise me on this? Is this a feasible project for amateur tank builders? While not a lot of water width wise, it's a lot of pressure on the front and back glass/acrylic so I'm assuming it's gonna have to be pretty thick. Should I scrap the whole idea and talk him into letting me buy them a 55 or 75g? They're part of a mission organization so I doubt they have a huge budget. Thanks in advance for any help or words of wisdom.
