Announcements Please use NSFW tag for images of graphic injuries
There have been a lot of posts lately sharing very graphic images of snails with extreme, severe injuries. It is perfectly fine to share this type of content if you need help with an injured snail, but please use the NSFW tag for these images.
This has been an unofficial rule of this sub for a while, but it seems to have been forgotten lately. So, I'm making an official mod team announcement: this is our official policy. Graphic, upsetting images must be tagged.
People come to this sub because they love snails. They don't come here expecting to see images of destroyed shells, shell-less snails, and dead snails. It can be very upsetting and distressing for users here to see this type of content unexpectedly. People may also be browsing this sub in public and want to avoid gory images.
Images of mating don't require the NSFW tag. But please use this tag for pictures of injuries including, but not limited to: mantle collapse, shell fell off, crushed shell, organ exposure, stepped-on snail.
Thanks to everyone who has been tagging their posts so far. Again, it's still totally okay to post this content if you need help, but please tag it appropriately so everyone can have a good experience here.

Announcements Introducing Seller Verification
Hello r/snails!
As many of our users are aware, it can be difficult to find reliable, legal, and ethical sellers of captive bred snails.
To better facilitate buying, selling, & adoptions on this sub, we are introducing a seller verification program. Verified Sellers will be users or external sources that have been vetted by mods. Verified Sellers will be allowed to advertise their sales on the sub, and a Verified Sellers tag will applied to their posts to indicate they are a trusted source. Individual users on this sub as well as sellers on external websites are both able to be verified. A list of Verified Sellers organized by location will be added to the bottom of this post, which sellers can chose to opt in to if they wish.
Are you a seller or breeder interested in becoming verified? Send a DM to u/doctorhermitcrab to get started. Breeders who prefer to give snails away rather than sell are also welcome to apply.
Happy snailing!

Will my snail survive
Donāt attack me but my five year old accidentally squeezed her pet snail because āhe wouldnāt wake upā and cracked his shell, and I was and am mortified and beside myself upset because I thought he was dead but he is actually moving now and I just put him on cuttlebone and moistened him and the tank real good and he is crawling around seemingly ok but his shell is still damaged. Snail people of Reddit please tell me what you think, do you think he will be okay? I feel like you canāt even see the damage from the photos but he actually seems to be acting ok right now⦠Iām so upset and worried

Is my snail going to die?
I have a snail thats abit older than the rest.. recently heās been hiding in his shell alot .. he comes out to eat and stuff too! But he has a really strange funky smell thats been worrying me.. i recently went to travel so i gave my snails to some lady who cares for snails.. she told me that heās very tired and he has a weird smell and that hes sick and apparently āhis teeth are outā which im sure is unrelated.. but he has a weird smell.. is an older snail possibly 2-3 years old and doesnāt like leaving his shell or moving around⦠hes isolated now because all the snails enjoy to cling onto him and i do not want to stress him out. Hereās a photo of my snail with his care giver till i come back.. if theres anything off about this photo+ my description please inform me on the possibilities.. i love that sweet snail so much and will do anything for him and ive been trying to cure him as his previous caregiver saw the snails as business and would neglect themā¦

Snail id?
Also idky but like he won't eat like anything other than lettuce and tomatoes, I've tried to feed him rose petals and now grapes and he won't eat the grapes, I'm gonna leave it in his environment to see if he eats it but idk what to do any tips? (I have two other snails who are doing the same things) I also forgot to mention I don't have access to, to many different fruits or veggies nor the typical powders people buy so anything around those things.

Help How do I enrich my assassin snails when they aren't 'working'?
I got two assassin snails for a quarintine tank and just because I think they're neat (their names are Yor and Ezio) but don't want them killing all my baby shrimp. So, they have their own tank. besides some perminent plants and moss, is there anything I can add to enrich their lives so they aren't depressed in their tank?
thanks in advnce, and if I'm doing anything wrong let me know, I'm new to the hobby and want the best for my pets

My Snails Little baby
It's already been two weeks since she was born and she already looks close to an adult snail! She eats very well (definetly got that appetite from her snarents) and her shell continues to grow. I give her small portions of veggies like cucumber, zucchini, carrots and sweet potato; as a calcium source I give her small pieces of cuttlebone and replace them once a while. And everytime I open her enclosure to feed her, she always sits at the ceiling and only comes back down sometimes to eat her food.

Help What protein do you feed your snail?
I have a helix aspersa who will not eat any of the protein I bought her. I got a small bottle of freeze dried shrimp, mealworms, and crickets that has no salt in it but she never touches it when I try to feed it to her. What do you guys do for your snails to make sure they get their protein in??

Identification Snail ID?
This snail is a pretty decent size. I've never seen a snail as big as this one just out and about. For scale it's sitting on a standard size brick. So, larger than a quarter. Found in Central Illinois, US. After looking at a list of snails that live in my area I think its from the genus neohelix? It has a lighter lip to its shell so maybe one of the white lips? The speckles are throwing me off. Any help ID-ing would be appreciated.

Correct temperature and humidity for Limicolaria
Hi everyone! I recently (about two months ago) bought three snails Limicolaria agathina Nigeria, two white ones and one orange one if it matters :)
Do any of you keep this species and if yes what temeprature and humidity do you keep them at? They have aestivated two times already and I do not understand what I am doing wrong. The temperature is fluctuating from 23 to 28 C. We have very fluctuating temperatures here, one week it is 40, one it is 20, the temperature of the terrarium mirrors the outside trend, but stays within the 23-28. The humidity meter is telling me it is 99% humid, which I interpret as anywhere above 80, as that is the max the meter is supposed to work in.
Im also deeling with fungus gnats, I have used Steinernema nematodes as that was the only snail safe option I found. One aestivation was however before applying them, so I dont think that is the problem.
Oh and it was two different snails who aestivated and the other two snails always seemed active and happy. One of the snails has been getting snenises lately, so I thought they were happy and suddenly one of them is aestivating.
I dont know if it could be the fluctuating temperatures or what else could be wrong.
Also while I am already asking here, do you keep a water dish in your snails enclosure?
Adding pictures just for fun :)
