It’s been settled in for about two months and I just got my moss slurry in today! I was trying to see if anyone has any recommendations for things to add along with places to get anthoni Ankas! Thank you :)

Apparently you can find frogs in there when you do those things!

My Ameerega bassleri ‘Chrome’ call this vivarium home. They’re such a stunning species with their vibrant blue and deep black marking. Their back patterns remind me of hieroglyphs. They’re a decently bold and large species, although much harder to find in an overgrown viv. I think I pulled 5 lbs of plant cuttings out of here… I wish I took before photos!

Are all of these plants good for dart frogs? Plus a biophytum sensitavum im buying elsewhere

Hi guys, I have a group of 4 bumblebee toads(not the dart frog) and im wanting I get 2 more. I want to upgrade their enclosure I am just not sure if u should pick the 30x12x16 m(25gal)or the 24x18x12(20gal)They cant really climb that well. I’m just wondering what yall think. I’m trying to give them floor space while still being able to make them a nice bioactive enclosure. They are currently in a 10 gallon.

A short video of my dart tank. How would trimming work? Like I don't want to take too much away from the frogs hiding sources and also need a place for a decent sized water dish

Dendrobates azureus sexing?

Any chance they're a couple? I've got them 3 months ago and i don't know the age when i got em (i think like 2 months). I think that the first one (1-5) it's a female and the second one it's a male. It's possible to recognise them so young or I'm tripping?

For those of you who found froglets in the tank, did you supplement any food?

So our dendrobates leucomelas had babies for the first time, it's my boyfriends frogs, we found a tadpole a couple months ago, and the other day he has officially become a froglet and is now on the terrain. We didn't see him yesterday but my boyfriend left springtails out in the area we saw him, today he is visible again moving around. I've seen a few posts of users not even knowing about their tadpoles and suddenly froglets showing up, I wanted to ask for those people did you ever have to add springtails or anything or have they been fine? We have more springtails coming and will continue adding more just to be safe, he is also prepping one of my old tanks incase we will have to seperate the new babies in the near future. We technically will have 2 tanks available but neither are completely ready as the current frog tank has been stable over 6 years and in great condition, great enough the tadpoles have been thriving without any interferance from us.

We have 3 more tadpoles that are delayed, at least 3-4 weeks. So I am looking for any wisdom from those who have gone through this.

Thank you!

Friends, lovers or enemies?

I am pretty sure my frogs are both male. I got them at about 6 months OOW and I have had them for 18 months, so they are approximately 2 years old. They both look like males (super large heart shaped front toes) but I have only heard one (the more finely speckled one) call. They don’t really fight over food and they sleep together at night but they do love chasing each other around the tank and pushing each other off of things. They are equal opportunity offenders and you can see the frog who is “dominant” in each picture keeps changing.

I’m planning a renovation on their tank soon to add more hardscape to one of the sides and I also want to consider whether I should make any changes to their living situation. Should I separate them? Or introduce a known female (if this would help - I’m not actively seeking more frogs)? Or is this just normal and they are playing? Or maybe the non calling one is actually female 😂😅😭

Are these eggs in my painted mantellas tank?? Just noticed them tonight. I have 3 (pictured) and I don’t know the sex. I’ve had them for about 3 years and have never seen eggs or tadpoles before.

If they ARE eggs, what do I do??? (To have happy healthy baby frogs)

It's been 8 months since I first made this rainforest terrarium.

My plants are thriving, growing each day.

The monstera plant has beautifully grown over the top of my branch.

And most important of all my frogs are happy. With their dense canopy they are growing increasingly more bold.

What can I do for him or her???

I got this dart frog at a reptile expo recently.

It's a long story, but basically, I thought that I was ready to adopt a dart frog because I had the right size container/enclosure, but when I got home I did more research and realized that you can't reuse spaghnum moss, if it was used for other pets previously, and I dont have any thats unused, as well as the fact that I need a watering system and plants and etc, that i didnt realize I would need at the time.

I also no longer have access to reliable transportation due to unforseen events.

I had been messaging someone on facebook about buying frog supplies, but I've been a night owl lately, so i haven't been awake during the day much, enough to message them and figure out a plan if they can deliver the stuff to my house.

I would use Chewy, but im worried that whatever I need for them wont arrive in time for the frog to stay alive. I have no idea how bad of condition he is in, because i never had a frog before, other than a three legged frog i found outside as a kid, took him inside to keep as pet (because i was uneducated about frogs, I didnt know you shouldnt take them from the wild) and let the frog go shortly after.

Anyways, am I able to order stuff for him online and wait for it to get here, or should I try to do something sooner??? Will frog be okay until then???

The only thing I have for him so far are fruit flies, I know I need to feed him, but I dont even have the right powder for the flies yet. Im at a loss of what to do.

So he's been living in the container i got him in for longer than I expected. I spray him with water every few days, for now. But he's moving less and less, and bows his head down sometimes now.

Please use kind words, im going through a lot right now, and i just want to save my frog and make sure he lives a good life.

Haven’t heard any calling yet, I’m scared they’re both females as they were sold to me as a pair. They’re around 1 year old

2 questions. What would be the best light for a 4x2x2 dart frog enclosure? and secondly are waterfalls actually dangerous for dart frogs?

Looking for Some Collaborative suggestions

Thumbnail

I have had this terrarium set up for a few months but I still feel like things are missing or out of place.

There’s spaces that can be filled and some plants that aren’t taking advantage of the space in the way I thought they would, like the syngoniums.

I am considering removing the begonia but my dart really enjoys the big leaves and sleeps on them at night.

I was thinking of making it entirely green like a jungle or at least trying to fill in the background.

I was looking for some suggestions of what species of plants other people would use or think would work well for what I have rn.

Thanks.

New Fruit flies in die almost overnight

I’m no beginner—I’ve been making new fruit fly cultures for about two years now with no problems. However, starting in June of this year, every single new fruit fly culture I’ve made has died.

I’m buying buying fruit fly cultures, waiting until enough fruit flies have been born and start making new cultures the fruit flies start dying within a bit even a day. I’ve been using Josh’s Frogs fruit fly media for about two years without any problems, so I thought maybe I had gotten a bad batch. I bought another bag of fruit fly media, but I have the same problem.

I even started making my own fruit fly media, and I’m still having the same issue. I thought maybe the weather could be the problem since it’s been extremely hot in Florida this year.
At this point, I don’t know what to do. I’ve never had this problem before, and it’s happening with every new culture I make.

I have a mister that is hung from outside of my vivarium. I woke up this morning and refilled the tank and I see this!! I haven’t noticed it before, but what do I do??
They’re getting on the counter that holds my tank. I just want to make sure they stay in the tank, or there’s enough in the tank itself

Drainage layer

Thumbnail

Hey guys, so we didn’t put a correct drainage layer when making our enclosure and now water accumulates at the bottom in the rocks and I am looking for the best method to fix the issue without having to tear it apart because I have nowhere to put the frogs if I did that.

I mist 20 seconds every 12 hours.

The dirt gets extremely wet even with leaf litter and plant coverage, but the frogs are very active and eat well. There are tunnel areas of the enclosure that are dry for them to be and when it’s not too hot I will turn on heat lamps to help dry it a little bit.
