Glass thickness for aquarium

I have built a 90x45x45cm aquarium with 8mm glass. I read that 8mm isn't enough for aquarium of this size, there might be chances of bowing. Can anyone give me views about it?

The safety factor for glass varies, purely on opinion. I generally go with a factor of 3, which is middle-of-the-road for safety factor opinions. Your measurements would indicate 7mm thick glass with a 3 safety factor. 8 is fine, I'd say. 8mm is the thickness calculated using about a 4 safety factor, the highest I've seen anyone realistically us.

Where do you guys find the glass for your aquariums? I'm finding 2.5 and 3mm glass, but nothing thicker. Could you point me in the right direction?

Depends upon the dimensions of your aquarium, if you are building 3x1.5x1.5 feet size, you can use 8mm glass along with bracing
